  1. Also was wondering if the new bump mapping will get rid of that wood grain effect you see on plowed fields.
  2. Yes the title of the thread should be changed and has nothing to do with anything being talked about in here. But i dont want to litter the boards with another post seeing how this ones already here. Also i for got to add with regards to micro transactions i woukd gladly pah a monthly fee for an online lobby with a live campaign system.
  3. I think there's a big misunderstanding between what everyone is talking about when it comes to multi player. For instance Steve i never knew you didn't consider PBEM multi player. Just like how I'm not considering multi player as 2vs2. What I am talking about is an enhanced interactive lobby system. Where players can come to meet to set up games and have live chat. This lobby is just that a lobby which in no way changes the game other then making it easier to make matches. I'm working on a visual representation on said lobby because like me most people are visual and don't get it til they see it. The features of said lobby would include creating/hosting games either PBEM real-time Or Real-time Wego (i know this isn't implemented all the way yet but players could agree to 1 min pauses). This lobby would also have the ability to record and report games back to the server. Which the results could be seen and players ratings viewed on a leader board in the lobby. This would be the very basic multi player lobby that i would like to see. Once implemented you could go as far as having campaigns. In which players pic a side and fight with others on a unified front. In the way that can be found on The Few Good Men website. Or how it is done on www.battlegroundeurope.com/ . None of this favors one play style or the other more. None of my ideas has anything to do with changing the games code or mechanics. Sure im a member here, the blitz, the few good men etc. The reason those sites are in existence, the driving force is multiplayer. (Lets make this clear call it what you want when i refer to multiplayer it includes all play styles.). And this is your core audience on these sites. What i would like to have is on central place to come and have all of this. With out having to report manually game results etc. Sorry if my post is a bit sloppy im on my phone and have to go didnt get a chance to proof read.
  4. Where can the bottom repeating texture be found?
  5. I found this thread quite amusing... www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=96611&highlight=majority+players First i will apologize for anyone i offended on my rant yesterday. But when people are attacking me what do you expect... let just not even go there. Its done and over. Although i cant help but notice from this thread that the mere mention of multiplayer brings out so much anger from each camp for various reasons. So basically what i gathered from that the game is meant to be like a live ASL or any other Avalon Hill game my dads got collecting dust in the basement ( though he does play them still). And single player is what this games main focus. For whatever reason the old timers around here get so upset and bash people that want multi player. And say oh no one wants it yet the more i look the more i see people do. Some of the main points i saw in there were that how you are catering to your core audiences but how could you possible expect to attract more and new players if the features they want aren't there. And then it seems once you get tired of beating the dead horse about multi player options you close the thread because its not what the core audience wants. I think you somewhat underestimate the ability to generate more revenue by enhance the multiplayer experiance. I get all the why you donts but sometimes it feels like you guys are saying you wont.
  6. Please, anyone and everyone will tell you that the controls for the game are clunky at best. I will give them the fact that its becoming a lot more stream line. I'm sorry if I'm not impressed with control actions, and a menu where you can assign your keystrokes. These options have been standard in all games for years. Regardless of how big your development team the basics could have been thought out better. Wow really grab a thesaurus, because your obviously and idiot. No strategy in tactics, no tactics in strategy? That's like saying there's no milk in dairy, no beef in meat. Your attempt to be clever leaves nothing to say. FAIL! And in your final attempt at brilliance you completely proved my point. All I want is a basic component found in almost every online game thats been done before. So if, when, they finally implement an online match making system; I guess Ill just have to be happy sneering about that too. And you want to talk about reality? The reality is that if you go buy an online multi player 99.9% of the time it will have a match making lobby. THAT IS REALITY. And there's probably a good amount of customers that don't buy the game. Because like me they read the games forum or as questions; find out there's no online match up system and do not buy the game. Like really, 65 dollars for a game with no match up system?
  7. Honestly a lot of these so called new features are already in the most basic and even older games. Movable way points? Grouped selections that you can hit a number to zoom to? Visually being able to assign keystrokes? Oh and the one single thing that applies to real time the pause button. All of these New Wonderful Innovations are the most basic controls in any standard RTS... but wait somethings missing oh yeah a multiplayer lobby. Maybe a decade from now they'll figure out that people dont want it... they would only expect it to already be in the game. So don't expect me to be impressed with these new "features" they've already been done before. The one thing i will be impressed with and expect is the optimization of the game, performance, and new units. Like i said, the only innovative thing done multi player wise was green as jade's H2HH. Oh and guess what battlefront is frustrated right to the bank cause i still buy their product. Which i feel allows me to RESPECTFULLY disagree with your or anyone's else's opinion that oh its not needed. Guess what opinions are like??? And the multi plyaer lobby wouldnt be for just real time. It would be for all styles of play every week theres someone looking for a game in the forum... why wouldnt you just have it in the game. Theres 5 differnt sites with ladders etc... why not just keep our own records on the lobby arrrgggghhhhhhhh!!! I feel like im talking to my 4 year old
  8. I'm in it and I have found one guy I play with regularly and it gets a bit tedious having to go through 145 people just trying to find a game. What bothers me is the AI is horrid boring and predictable and I would like real time players. Not I'm 65 years old and need to put on my bi focal's to see the keyboard PBEM. I cant stand watching my units move 1 minute at a time and then not being able to correct their movements on the fly when they are doing something stupid. I dont know its just annoying because I'm not a big rts base building guy cause im not a twitcher and never can keep up, sudden strike was good but a lil too unrealistic when it came to actual stats and armor ratings etc. Maybe im just a whiney little brat. I just find it hard to believe that no one else wants a lobby where you could have live chat etc. I think i just need to let it go, cause people are just gonna be like oh no we dont need that back to the cellar with you.
  9. Thats the type of mentality I'm talking about. I enjoy the game, I knew what I was buying. When I bought the game it said real time tcp ip gaming but said nothing of not having a pause button. And I guess enough people cried about it that they fixed it... even though it should have been there in the first place. I guess its there fix to both real time and wego live is their pause button. But it doesnt change the fact how ignorrant you really are... or your just trolling. Either way anyone who says that having an in game lobby for multi player match ups is lying. Its not about buyers remorse its about having a great game that actually has a community and developers who continue working on their product. Why wouldnt you want to continue to make it better is what frustrates me I come from the sudden strike series which fireglow completely abandoned SS3. But I never knew about CM until somewhat recently and I absolutely do love it. I just dont understand why you people are so hard headed and dont basically give a **** about others opinions. Dont worry ill just go dismiss myself
  10. Listen i like the game but I get where the OP is coming from as far as the multi player. And what kinda irks me is how every time its brought up, our thoughts our merely swept aside like rubbish. I get that you feel the majority of your players don't care but honestly feel that you are wrong. First of all besides maintaining a server once implemented the lobby wouldn't need constant tweaking. Hell I'm not even asking for you to host our games on your servers. Just an area where people can meet to exchange ips, i cant see how you couldn't handle such a small amount of people on an already existing server. You guys got it right by finally making the game pausable during real time play. I don't under stand why your so against having such minor online features in the game. I also feel this keeps new players away because like me they want live opponents. You want me to pay i am and i will pay for multiplayer. Maybe im just hard headed but i dont understand why you guys refuse to add some kind of feature in game to make it easier to find opponents. I mean look at green as jades head2head helper why cant you ad that into the game some how or something rather then nothing. Now a couple off topic questions. Im confussd is market garden coming out or just fortress italy? If i buy fortress italy will i have to pay to upgrade cm bn cw or will it become cm bn cw fi? I didnt see it anywhere but will there be a replay file available for realtime games?
  11. To me and others the lobby would be a new features and help people find opponents for online games. Like are you that set in your ways that you completely dismiss other wants to improve the game. I am honestly amazed at how quick the turnaround for the new modules have come. I find it hard to believe it would be soo difficult to have a lobby in game where players could meet and at least exchange ips at the very least instead of have to use forums to find games.
  12. Hey thanks for the link. Obviously this has already been thought through and talked about and i can understand their stand on not using it. And so on that note can we at least get a lobby of some type in game for us real time players? I get the fact that the majority of players enjoy the pbem style of play. I also play pbem because it can be difficult at times to find a real time opponent. If the developers will lose money by using steam which is obviously why they aren't using it. Wouldn't it at least make sense to put in their own live multi player match up system? I get that you guys have your target audience and seem happy with the way things are but there is always room to improve. I wouldn't expect an overflow of new players due to adding said lobby but its definitely a turn off for a player who's never played the game to see there's no match up lobby. Plus it opens up new opportunity to do cool stuff. Like the ability to drop in as an observer on a game. It be pretty cool to watch all the action live with out having to do all the thinking behind it. I love the game but would really like to see some kind of lobby for multiplayer and maybe at some point if you had setup the lobby making the game 2vs2 would be awesome. Also would like to see real aircraft flying not just sound effects and iron rain and also live para troopers to drop in behind enemy lines... that be cool too. So would hitting the lottery for 100 mil but i dont see that happening either lol.
  13. Just was wondering why CMBN or CMFI is not available on Steam. I know I'm probably in the minority here but I don't understand why it wouldn't make sense to make your games available to the Steam community. At the very least I would like to see the game not crash when I try to start it with the Steam overlay. But back to my point. There's other battle front games available on steam such as the Theater of War series. Now that 2.0 will have pausing available I could see a lot of people being more open to this game and also being more accessible. I'm sure there's people out there that would love the game but don't even know it exist. There's all ready a steam group that 150+ strong Just a thought.
  14. Quick result from google, use it its your friend http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/115080-13-what-games-multi-core-best
