  1. Pete, thanks man, I think that is the problem. So... is the setup zone in the map editing area just for human players and the setup zone in the AI editing area just for AI players? Should I just delete the AI setup and leave the map setup zone? If this doesn't iron out the problem, then I'll send you the file to look at.
  2. They are definitely not in the default deploy area. That area happens to be in the Blue team setup zone. Some are near where I put them, some are across the map! Something tells me that the AI is deploying them where it thinks it wants them, because they are showing up in the rather large setup zone I created (since they are indiginous insurgents and militia, I pretty much gave them free reign of the map). The setup zone has large areas and some small areas. I tried to use the small areas to force the units to stay where I put them, but that doesn't work. I'll try to fix what you guys suggested, and I'll let you know. BTW... THANKS!!
  3. OK, going to try to completely redo the ai plan. Question: Does the ai automatically try to deploy troops?
  4. OK tried that. Still, my units are scattered across the map. I set them up where I wanted them but they still are randomly place when I start the mission. So... this leads me to believe that my ai settings are wrong. How do I just keep these guys where I want them? My ai settings are: 1-setup, occupy, normal, 2-hold, occupy, normal. Should I have NO ai settings? I guess I don't know why there is a setup zone thing in the map area and one in the ai area.
  5. I have set up all the units where I want them to start, but when I start the mission as blue, the red side has some units in the wrong places. I did cut the map down a bit for speed reasons, which initially set all the units off by as much as I cut. So I redeployed them, but some still appear in the wrong places. What am I doing wrong?
  6. LOL, I still love the Chiefs, even though they suck this year. I think Herm is toast.
  7. 1.05.... Noticed something worth saying in this discussion.... I noticed some machine gunners firing wildly into the air! I have seen it happen. When someone is going off Rambo style and swings the mg up and around you can see tracers go all over the place. So.. maybe inaccuracies are being modeled into the game. Maybe while utilizing area fire, there should be much reduced accuracy. Also when a unit is being fired on (it's hard to shoot straight when people are trying to kill you!). Otherwise, I have found US troops are actually quite good shots. So many of our guys in Iraq have commented on how they are alive only because the Iraqis can't shoot for crap. M1A1TankCommander: first, hooah! 6 yr vet myself. Second, me too, only used iron sights.
  8. Exactly. The ai is not going to change strategy or use any type of formation or anything like that. The ai force's tactical movements/placements are dictated by the scenario designer. But as far as the reaction of individual units to things like being shot at, the ai has improved a lot. Pathfinding is not perfect but much improved. I would definitely recommend this game, and all I have played against is the ai. I have had a lot of fun with it, and it keeps getting better. Plus, expect much more user made content as well as the US Marines version to be released before long. Just log onto cmmods and you can download tons of great missions. Bottom line is it's the best realistic modern war game there is.
  9. Webwing, you have amazed me once again. Looks great! Can't wait!
  10. Steve, I remember the pinto era. Surely we are not the only ones, and I'm not calling you shirley either:). Not trying to brown nose... but Steve, never have I seen a game developer who is so tuned in to the community. Never have I seen such good customer service. You consistantly answer questions to the best of your ability. I really appreciate that (Shirley I'm not the only one). When I heard a noise when my reinforcements showed up, I knew that you were listening to us. Thank you for listening, thanks for your continued support. Battlefront is now my favorite game company of all time (been a fan since 2001 when I discovered Beyond Overlord). Keep up the good work, keep cranking out the goodness, and we'll keep coming back for more. Anthony Nerdfury??? LOL. Seen it. Saw a little 4-eyed 10 year old boy chide his mother for passing the salt instead of the "sodium chloride, otherwise known as common table salt, duh mother". 11. Thank you for the patch! CMSF gets better with every patch. Now you guys should take a long christmas vacation. I've only played a couple of scenarios but the overall "feel" of the game has improved. It seems to run a little smoother and the ai seems much more solid. I have not yet ran into any bugs. BattleFront: please continue to raise the bar (not lower it like Steve said) by putting out the BEST modern tactical wargame ever made. With every patch that bar is raised a little more, and we get happier.
  12. Man I'd love to, I just don't have the time. But, I have a single mission that needs testing too. If you want to check it out, let me know.
  13. Wear green glasses and turn down the resolution all the way.
  14. I think you guys should get paid for doing so much research.
  15. MOUT is a reality man, can't go without it. lol a little redecorating?
  16. Mine are lightly toasted at best. While using AI plan, I had IED's layed out with the trigger man close by. The vehicles rolled by and an IED went off. Not sure if you have to bake it. Also... I'm wondering if the ai plan for a vbied will drive to his destination and detonate if withing range of an enemy. It hasn't seemed to work so far.
  17. I'm working on one as well. Should be pretty fun if I can balance it right.
  18. Have you ever seen a firefight at night??? The tracers aren't white. To me, white tracers look dumb.
