  1. Spotting in an attack is always a challenge since you're on the move. Spotting while defending gives you a chance to stake out the area until they come. I find that spotting in an attack with a force that can provide some suppression fire helps. Once the arty comes in then they're really suppressed giving you your chance to move.
  2. Had this happen to one of my dead shermans just as the battle was dying down. Very quiet at that point until BLAM! my speakers woke the dead of night. Scared the heck out of me.
  3. I've seen some interesting spotting too. Had a night mission with my greyhound moving in the night but spotted an 88 hidden in the edge of the woods. 88 never saw me (played this a few times), but never opened up on me. Not sure if night only affected him and not me. Various factors could always be reasons for spotting I guess.
  4. Same here. I loved the open terrain of tanks moving through the desert like ships at sea. There were some awesome battles I still remember from CMAK.
  5. White Tiger? Isn't that like the 1977 movie White Buffalo with Charles Bronson?
  6. I'd love to see it too. One thing I like about gaming is the comradery in wargames. As for a coop game lasting too long, there are plenty out there that already do that (ie-War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition).
  7. I was quite amused to see my light AT gun's shells bouncing like ping pongs off that Tiger. Definitely pinned it, but it required a bit of surgical precision to remove it. (Won't spoil it by saying which scenario).
  8. Wow, some of these I haven't heard of. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Bookmarked thanks for sharing. It is interesting to see how some changed over the course of the war.
  10. Hey guys, I was wondering what resources you guys use for creating scenarios? Recently I've been digging through my issues of Armchair General and found some great ideas to convert to CMBN scenarios. There are some limitations (ie-OOB, dates, locations), but I'm able to adapt and modify them to fit into CMBN. From what I'm seeing, Armchair General magazine seems to like covering CMBN and other wargames out there. http://www.armchairgeneral.com/armchair-general-inspired-scenarios-for-the-combat-mission-game-series
  11. I always feel sorry for my scout teams. Usually someone ends up dead on that team.
  12. Thanks again. A lot of the map designs are simply awesome.
  13. Hey folks, It has been ages since I've touched CMAK and even longer since CMBO, and I've recently picked up CMBN+ within the last month. All I can say is it is great to be back. I've noticed a few differences in mechanics and features, but all mostly for the better. I'm trying to comb through the forums to better understand the development of the game (can I say sim?) and if there are other resources I should be aware of. ie-http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/, the Repository, etc. Anyways, good to be back.
  14. Wow! That is a big map. Your attention to detail is awesome. Also, plenty of flanking room, I like that!
  15. Great idea to get people together! May not be able to get a game going til after the 4th, but I'm game.
  16. If I buy the pay for download version only, will I be able to back it up on a DVD or is this a download and install? Are there any issues with the download version compared to getting the hardcopy?
