  1. I think its good that we still not have a patch for CMBN ! I really hope they fix some of the bigger problems (AT guns cover arc or Infantry behaviour).
  2. Wow, this looks great ! Will it be compatible with the other terrain-mods out there ?
  3. Is it a bug that i get some crazy graphics while in the scenario editor force selection (drop down menus) ?
  4. I will stop playing CMBN until you release this !
  5. Maybe Battlefront hopes that we will forget this issues if they stay quiet long enough... We need at least a Hunt command for AFV's only and Armour arc's for AT guns !
  6. ...i would not care about that, if there is a issue then they should fix it ! Again, i believe the problem is: 1. The abstracted cover that buildings offer to infantry is to low. 2. The concealment offered to infantry while inside of a building is way to low. I mean, a single normal size building is at least a platoon size objective ! The problem to me is that if the infantry is moving iside of the building they seem to have no cover at all (not more then being in the open) ! Have you ever moved infantry to the second floor while enemy infantry is ~50m away in the open ? They will kill half of your guys very quick !
  7. There is a reason why another popular wargame has a special building type with the name "Fort or Church"...
  8. The problem was already in CMSF. Something with the abstracted interior or the cover and concealment a building offers to a persons seems very odd sometimes. Just try it out by yourselfe. Go to the streets and try to spot persons inside a (solid european) building...its hard even if the person stands at the window (light reflections ect.). And if you are in the middle of a building...maybe prone...there is no way someone can spot you or use small arms fire effectiv against you, he could pepper the hole building with tons of ammunition butt... Ok, you have to expose yourselfe to shot. But again you still hard to spot and should get a abstracted bonus from the walls inside and the interior. I really believe that the spotting is the bigger problem. It is hard to spot persons in a building from 200m away and must be even harder during combat situations...so think about it. I can remember a situations during MOUT training with the AGDUS system were we were totally confused and did really have no idea where does shots coming from while your comerades were alredy hit (smoke, noise, stress and all that). And believe me, the "enemy" was also moving inside those buildings. In CMBN however, moving inside of a building means instant death if any enemy unit is near. Units that are not moving will hardly be spot but as soon as they move every GI Joe on the map knows their position. Strange wenn a few rifle shots from 100m away kill half of your squad while they move to the second floor of a building... Something to look into or tweak for sure.
  9. At least buildings offer nearly no cover at close ranges, like the guys inside always standing at windows and exposing themselfes.
  10. @ Flesh Great job ! @ Vinnart What files do you use from Syrope terrain ?
  11. ...and thats the issue at the moment. The supression effect is too low and units recover too fast from "being supressed"... Also, the moral is recovered too fast in some situations or maybe the moral should drop faster and recover slower overall.
  12. For sure ! Recovering moral goes way too fast at the moment...should be some minutes not seconds overall.
  13. @ WineCape I will have a look, maybe i still have the savegame, but im totally with Taki on that one !
  14. ...but that does not explain the "insanely unrealistic spotting" of tanks against infantry that some of use complain about.
  15. I read about it in another thread some days ago and i had to think about this... Is the TacAI unable to use Area-Fire ? You, as player, use it the hole time. You "know" that there is a enemy in that building, you see the ? above it. You use area fire to supress him. Now, what would the TacAI (your enemy) do ? Nothing ? Becasue they actually cant spot you ? Or are they smart enough to use area-fire on suspected enemy positions ? I ask because a AI, unable to use Area-fire against suspected enemy positions...is kind of bad.
  16. Yeah, tanks spot infantry way to easy ! Ambushing tanks will always end in a disaster if the first shots miss because after ~20sec the tanks spot your prone infantry in the tall grass behind this wall and will give them some HE to eat. This was maybe ok in CMSF with all those high-tech stuff inside (Intel inside ??)... But here we have a issue with the tank spotting ability or with the concealment that the terrain offers to infantry ! I had guys running into a building 50m away from a sherman (closed hatch). The door was on the other side so the tank could not spot them before they were inside the building. But yeah... As they walked inside the tank fired a HE into the building killing them all. I loaded my save game and tryed it again and let them crawl into the building this time. No chance at all...15sec later the tank spotted prone infantry inside a (intact) building 50m away at 3 o clock of the tank.
  17. Vein...fantastic job ! Is this a company or a battalion commander there with the Knights Cross ? And about the US units, they will only effect the ranger unis ingame ? Oh, and what about a Mod for the ordinary GI's ? They would need some work as Battlefront already put more work into the germans.
  18. Sounds like a know bug, just search about it and you will see many guys with similar problems
  19. About the Wehrmacht Camo Uniforms in Normandy: You should note that the Zeltbahn was often used as poncho during rainy days and also as improvised camo. So most likely you would not see real camo uniforms (like the Waffen-SS one) on Wehrmacht soldiers but lots of guys with their Zeltbahn used as poncho. What im talking about can be seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bundesarchiv_Bild_183-S73822,_Arnheim,_Grenadiere_gehen_durch_Gr%C3%A4ben_vor.jpg
