  1. Wrong. Where freedom is established it has virtually always lasted. Especially when it is protected / defended until the newly established can defend themselves. Your view is absoutely wrong in terms of history.........Much has been tried in the ME for centuries.......Establishing freedom and self worth however, isn't two of them....... Lets both peg this thread and check back with one another in 10 - 15 years. Best regards,
  2. Yes. Something along those lines. Having one of the dedicated fire-teams (from the infantry Bat) be carrying M4s instead of 16s.
  3. Oh, and what are those troops doing in Japan and Europe for then? We lost WWII now didn't we....I forgot..........Or could there be strategic reasons for being there...and very real reasons (outside of the current conflict directly Vs Taliban / AQ) that are good for both the U.S. as well as those wishing to see the values of freedom and self-worth have a chance to take full root in this region of the world. No, a military victory comes in the WOT not from your strict definition above (you are fighting a conventional war there)....but from a rouge dictator or nation no longer being an active threat against CONUS. And the Gov'ts of Stan and Iraq are no longer such. That is victory.
  4. We are not any further along in Stan than 01/02? That is just factual incorrect on too many levels......The standards of success that have been applied to Stan are just ridiculous.......On the whole the battle is being continually waged deeper and deeper into the enemy (where they are now even being chased / killed in the no-man lands on the Pak side of the border). Gov't instituions, schools, medical facilities, modern road systems, "infastructure" are being established inside and moving out in 80% of Stan.......We now have active FOBs in areas (Nuristan and others) that were never there before....... There is a whole new Gov't in Stan. Women are allowed to go to schools. The notion that there has been no more progress in Stan since when we started is utter foolishness.... But we should take this private as was said....this is off topic. I'd be happy to have a private discussion with you. Hit me up on the private email side. Regards.
  5. I agree completely with you in regard to scenario design playing a major factor...in terms of small engagements and what is and isn't a success (for both sides). This is exactly rignt and by designers putting together casualty factors as part of the success or non-success can make missions much more enjoyable and accurate... With that said, I disagree regarding winning the wars in Iraq and Stan. Militarily without question the U.S. has won (in the daily process of winning) both wars...and militarily wins virtually 90% of all tactical engagements even (more so in Stan). Also, on the whole freedom and the notions of self-worth are spreading in both Iraq and Stan.... This is a huge difference (a strategic victory) not even remotely thought possible only a decade ago.......... Stan has literally come centuries forward in less than 7 years.....but of course there are going to be problems.... We are talking a country that was again, literally, living in the dark ages just a few short years ago. Iraq is clearly (even for those opposed to the war) growing more successful by leaps and bounds on a daily basis....... America's two biggest allies in both of these wars (for the long haul) are the notions of freedom and self-worth. For far too long these values / thoughts were denied the citizens of the ME (and this two nations particularly)..... That is changing and it is a complete and total strategic defeat for those enemies of America...... AQ has understood this reality since 04...and it is why they risked everything in Iraq. AQ understood Iraq WAS the front lines of the WOT.....and it is why they went "all in" (poker term) so to speak in Iraq..... They went all in...and lost.... The dirty little secret was......it wasn't the U.S. who couldn't fight and effective and aggressive multi-front war.....but AQ and their allies!......and they have lost terribly in Iraq by going all in.....
  6. Some Marine unites (when possible) switched over to M4's while conducting MOUT operations in Iraq - Is there any chance we could get an Marine Fire Team outfitted with M4 (instead of M16) along with the SAWs and Mk-32s....? Some Marines in CMSF do carry the M4 (MG teams have 1 or 2 guys, so does the GL Team). But I would like to be able to have fire team using M4s for QCB..... If possibe.... It would just add a slight bit more custom-ability (with realism).
  7. Thanks for this work - AAR - Explains much and gives BFC something to adjust / improve on - I still think snipers (U.S.) are less accurate than they should be - I was in a mission yesterday where my sniper took about a dozen shots before picking off two guys less than 120 meters away sitting on the back of a pick-up.
  8. Mord - Nothing but the absolute best wishes for you - And be proud, you should be.
  9. 1. Yes, I'm talking about your Mod - Sorry, I should have been more clear - 2. Again, sorry, I should have been more clear. I'm using CMSF-Marines while playing this mod - I am playing as the U.S. All of the Air Support is / seems inaccurate - Off by a bunch too at times - And it is both Artty and CAS......... Using both Area and specific target orders...
  10. The MTVR trucks - Good to know - Thanks - And agree completely about the "small resupply convoy"....it only supplies the enemy targets.....and not much else...
  11. +1 to this? What ammo does the M82A3 use in the game? If it is the 7.62 how come my unit has none of this ammo when starting out??
  12. Recently DL the Dawn's Raiders scenario and have notcied terribly inaccurate CAS and Mortor rounds...... Is this by design or a flaw / bug?
  13. Somewhat of a work-around (in some cases)......Thanks. It seems it would be a nice option to simply have a "unload" option associated with supply vehicles - This would unload their supplies.
  14. What are the best options for re-supplying infantry within a 2hr game - It seems the Humvees hold limted amounts of 5.56 and 7.62 ammo? But how does one get this out? In that most units are to large to fit into a single humvee, it seems 3 man units are the most... (I'm a noob here). Also, in the purchasing phase....there is a simple 'small resupply convoy' (or something to this description)....but again, it brings with it 4 or 5 Humvees....but they only hold small amounts of 5.56 and 7.62 (no gernades, 204GL, 40mm, etc). Thanks for any and all advice....
  15. Ground Branch when it comes out next year will likely be the best true tactical FPS (squad level) game we've yet to see....... The true next generation of Origional R6 /RS/GR.
  16. I would love to see this option - Have you put your map out (along with research) and allow others to start making a string of single missions .......and you could always step in with a bonus string of missions that you could put together when you had more time. That would be great.
  17. While that does seem odd.......At the same time, I would say I have seen the exact opposite more often than not with "elite" units....... Where taking fire (terribly inaccurate fire) they become bogged down or "cowering" extremely fast..... I think there is a definite need for a value increase across the board for "elite" rated units within CMSF.
  18. Looking forward to this map coming out - On this topic, there is a great new book out by Dick Couch called "The Sherriff of Ramadi" it focuses mainly on the Navy SEALs who played a very important role in turning Ramadi and Anbar around from 04 through 07.....But also discussing how they worked everyday with conventional forces to make this happen... .the SEALs and Army worked incredibly well together to turn Ramadi and all of Anbar around (Marines also).....Great book. I also have a family member who is in the "Teams" and has been DR in Iraq twice over the past several years....and worked Route Michigan.......
  19. Curious, do large Bldg type IEDs (expolsive rigged structures) exist in CMSF? I was just playing a mission and had cleared a house of all enemies (I thought) with the possible exception of someone left on the third floor.....and all of a sudden the Bldg collasped......all KIA..... I did not have a CAS mission on this Bldg....?? I did have quite a bit of Target fire on the bldg prior to the Assault....
  20. Does better communication have a morale boost for units? Is this simulated in CMSF.
  21. What is the symbol for NVGs? Is it the single circular green light?
  22. Oh - Great - Thanks - I thought it was mentioned only units with a certain "symbol" were equipped with such NVGs........(then again, maybe all have this symbol and I just haven't looked close enough......at work right now and don't have CMSF here to check into).
