  1. So is mine, it doesn't have many of it's original parts. Nathan, that post just reminded me so much of "Only Fools and Horses" sketch about the broom. For those that don't know it, Trigger, a not so gifted roadsweeper, is telling his mates how he's had the same broom for 20 years. It's had twelve new handles and 7 new heads!! Really, really funny, but I'm too pushed for time to link the youtube clip that I've no doubt exists! Cheers, Darren
  2. I've been looking at trying to do something away from the Normandy subject all together, as I suspect that will be the focus for most. I've been doing a lot of reading about the Anzio landings and quite fancy something around the 15th or 30th infantry involved in small scale exchanges against the Herman Goering Panzer Division. Been trying to get information on equipment used at the time but I'm sure most if not all of it will be in CMBN. I can't wait, but will probably have to as my PC went kapputen last week!! I think that is called Sod's law!! Cheers
  3. Does all this really matter? Honestly? Just use the quick order, forget about fast for troops and move on. There are far more important things that the small team called Battlefront need to be concentrating on at the moment than a minor discrepency like this. It really doesn't affect the gameplay, or enjoyment in any way. Not putting you guys down or nothing, but the game is pretty much as good as it gets (IMO of course) and this is SOOOOOOOOOO minor as to really not lose any sleep over. I suspect that is why there has been a severe lack of comment from Steve & co, after 3 pages, cos it just ain't worth the skin loss on the fingertips to type anything. Just my two pennies worth, what do I know. Darren
  4. Thanks alot to all that answered. I must admit I haven't played the scenarios for some time, as been occupied with the campaigns that came with the modules, and of course the fantastic red v red stuff that has been created by the guys on the forum. The answers given have cleared the problem up for me. As suggested though, for someone buying this game now, although receiving the V1.21 (which I feel is head and shoulders above any other game of it's type), they may feel that the battles are a disappointment and do not present much of a challenge. I would offer to tweak them myself, but after many hours fiddling with the scen editor, it is best left to people who have half an idea of what they are doing! Regards, Darren
  5. Hi guys, Recently I have decided to go back to playing WEGO as I am looking for PBEM opponents so wanted to brush up on the skills required. God it is hard after being a RT convert. Requires a lot more planning rather than "I'll send my blokes there and when something happens I'll pause and reassess" type attitude. Anyhows, I digress. I've decided to start playing through the scenarios from the start in order to develop said skills. Started with Abu Susah, and within the first minute spotted some enemy units. They were all out in the open, and not something I remember from playing it originally. Ceasefired, and reviewed the map to find all of the enemy had been displaced from their original positions in buildings etc, and sort of offset into the open. I opened the scen up in the editor to confirm the intended positions of the enemy, and saved it just in case. Started it up again, saved at the deployment stage and immediately ceasefired to see the troops were positioned correctly. They were so I started my first turn, only to find the troops had teleported back into the open. This problem obviously makes the scenario a waste of time to play. Was wondering if anyone else had encountered this or if there is a fix that I have overlooked? Any advice would be most welcome, Regards, Darren
  6. Hey MikeyD, Thanks for the test, which has helped me out by showing some holes in my theory! Bit frustrating not to be able to get more .50 cal, as it is a very useful weapon, more so than the 7.62 rifle. Never mind, you can't have everything..........or can you? Cheers, Darren
  7. Hi Meade, I posted this question in the main thread as I didn't get a reply in here......until now! I had half a dozen repsonses saying that the .50 ammo isn't simulated and the rifle uses the 7.62 stuff. As you point out, at the beginning of the scenario it appears they have no ammo, but they blaze away OK with it during the game. Only thing I can think is they carry such a small ammo load that it hardly registers on the counter, as opposed to the machine gun which rattles through the stuff. Hope this makes sense and clears it up for you. There some supposition in it so if anyone with a better understanding wants to chip in then feel free! Regards, Darren
  8. Yep, thanks alot everyone, I can confirm they use the 7.62 ammo. Unfortunately, after all that, he only managed to squeeze off as couple of shots before getting nailed. God, I'm crap at this game! Regards, Darren
  9. Thanks for the replies. I shall try it out and report back. Regards, Darren
  10. Hi Guys, Posted this in the tactics forum but not sure it was the right place. I'm having trouble getting extra ammo for a Sniper team armed with the M82A3. As I'm sure you knowledgeable people know, it takes the .50 cal round, but I haven't seen this available for acquiring from any vehicle. Is this the case, or have I missed something? Only ever seem to get 5.56 or 7.62. Cheers in advance, regards, Darren
  11. Hi Everyone, I have a sniper team armed with the M82A3, which takes a .50 calibre round. I'm just starting "Milk Run" in the Marines campaign, and the unit is out of ammo at the set up stage. My LAV has only 5.56 and 7.62 on board. I cannot recall seeing .50 cal on the aquire menu on any vehicle before. Am I missing something? Apologies if this has been discussed before. Battlefront, this game is now absolutely fantastic, even against the AI. Well done. A real shame the gamer mags and sites don't come back for a second review. Cheers in advance to repliee's, Darren
  12. Have you got the floating icons switched on? If yes, then you just click on the squad's icon floating above the stryker, and bob's your uncle! Failing that, you could cycle through all of your available troops using the + key until you get to the one you want, but that is a lot more hassle. Hope this helps, Regards, Darren
  13. Cheers for the link Combatintman, that is a very informative thread, and your post in particular is full of great information. You answered my main point within it, which is overflying Mozambique and worrying about the consequences afterwards. Interesting thoughts, although having just watched the Politics Show this morning on BBC, and the head of Britiains armed forces saying that they are overstretched at the currently levels of deployment, I can't see anything materialising in the near future, mores the pity for the poor people of Zimbabwe. Regards, Darren
