  1. But you don't really have 2 hours to direct towards simply taking care of business related to conducting the operation.......As you have ten's of minutes used up simply trying to look around the battlefield.....or trying to find what unit is taking fire, etc, etc...... For those that want to place a time limit.....That is fine.....For those who would rather not....it seems that option should be avaliable to.
  2. But that is the point.......It really isn't the constraint imposed by the "time" varible....it is the constraint posed by not being able to oversee 4, 5, 6 things at once varible......(and thus the imposed time factor only furthers this problem). I don't see the time constraint having anything to do with realism (in fact, it does the opposite). In some FPS games (like original R6/GR) time constraints on some missions made sense and added to the realism........ That is not the case here... The option to turn off "time constraints" should be there.......Just as an option. Who does it harm.....
  3. Agree - With the notion that allowing players to play maps / missions with unlimited time.....Should not be such a big issue.......BFC should simply allow for this option (at the players choice).......
  4. Playing RT......and trying to control / oversee all the aspects of what is going on (current firefights, staging, reinforements, etc, etc, etc).....clearly becomes quite burdensome.......especially when a timeframe is involved. It would be great (and not take anything away from the hardcore aspect of CMSF) if this could be turned off (for those that wish so) during the campagin mode.....
  5. Mr. John Kettler - For all you list - Reality is reality - We (yes, us and the Israelis) just made Syria's most prized / top-secret facility go "boom"....and none of their systems even knew we were there........And we weren't even trying to have a shooting war with them - We didn't even make them go dark........We just made them unknowingly blind.......(and that is big differecne).... If we went to war with Syria......conventionally......Syria's (or your opinion of Syria's vaunted military) would cese to be effective in a relatively shory time span.......and would not put an aircraft in the sky after 48-96 hours...... They would be shot out of the sky for those that did take off and look for a fight....and/or would hvae fires put on them when they landed to refuel.....or were secured away looking to bide their time..... Our military changed drastically in and since the 80's.....and has continued to do so..... The U.S. military today is the most battled tested and accomplished military we have had since WWII...... We are the premire force not only in the Sky's....but in Armor and now MOUT Ops as well - We have literally a military full of experience......With technology that only keeps out paching our would be enemies....
  6. The C300 system will be defeated and blinded just like much of the past Russian airdefense sytems have been since the 80s. In 1991 Saddam boasted (and so did plenty of others) of what incredible systematic air defense systems Iraq had.........It was useless within days.... Ditto this for Syria.....And yes, if push comes to shove, and Russian manned AAA/SAMs are targeting and shooting at U.S. aircraft they will have fires put on them.....and quickly... Again, Syria (conventional wise) would be taken care of within a month.....The sky's would be completely ours (U.S.) within 48-96 hours......I have no doubt about this....
  7. Syria will be weaker than Iraq (outside of Hezz support) in comparison to 1991 - In full blown shooting war -
  8. Syria would not be able to keep one aircraft in the sky's after 48-96 hours - All the hyperbole speak about the 'latest and greatest" Russian hardware meaning this or that.....just isn't reality......... Hell we (U.S. / Israel) just made Syria's whole anti-aircraft system go "dark" last year when their nuclear production facility was taken out..... Reality is with the speed and violence the United States can put forth in conventional type warfare there are no third-world nations that could last (any length of time) in such a conflict....... Falling back into a guerilla warfare type fight is the only option (and even threre, with resolve from the American political side......our forces will eventually come out on top)...
  9. I think I'm mostly excited about the gameplay / AI improvemnts for Infantry.........Along with some of the tweaks adittions to the user interface...(GUI/UI)... Question? Will there be able to have combined force missions - Using both Army and Marine units together now?.......I would assume so.......but why assume...
  10. I've been traning and getting ready over the past week since purchasing the CMSF bundle pack - About ready for my men to take on the campagin - Curious, does CMSF, in campagin mode keep track of soldiers KIA / WIA....throughout?
  11. Kettler - Great first post - Along with good links as well - I also think what is left out, regarding this conflict is the IDF never had its heart (leadership that is, never had its heart set on a fight.....they forced themselves to act, at the expense of the boots on the ground doing the fighting). Lessons were learned.......Next time, look for a thorough as$ whipping of Hezbollah forces.....IMPO....
  12. It would be great for a step by step detailed scenario walk-through - If BF would put one out - Just taking a simple type mission / scenario - And walking through it from Step 1, until finished - The game manual goes over the editor.....but it is greatly lacking....(and not so clearly written)...
  13. If you buy the bundle-package.....the answer is "no" - Not until you contact BF and let them know you want to DL CMSF first......and then Marine's later. The elicense code you will recieve will not allow you to DL CMSF.....until BF gets back with you with another direct link to use (for only CMSF). Which is the process I recently went through. I have to say.....definitely buy CMSF. I waited until now....and am very happy with my purcahse....
  14. +1 to this - For both WEGO and Real Time -
  15. When I was first thinking of purchasing CMSF a while back......I know a very well put together mod was released.....that was basiclly infantry only scenarios.....It use to have sticky on here - Can someone remind the name of this mod? And who made it. Thanks
  16. Outside of picking up Javilan's .....How often do you load up your soldiers with extra ammo? Prior to a mission begining.....(and how much extra can they carry?). Another side question? Is there any way to have an unlimited timed scenario / mission? (longer than 2 horus).
  17. I've done a search on "installing mods" and "Z folders"...and nothing comes up (though i'm sure this has been gone over 100x times). How do I install a new mod? I created a folder labeled Z in my Data folder. I input a mod I DL from CMMODS.......but it doesn't show up when I go to look for it in "battles" to play?
  18. This seems to be the best method for taking down buildings.........Using "Target AREA fire" (it seems, from most AARs)... Better yet, with splitting up teams...and having one provide target area fire from an overwatch.....with the other moving quickliy into the building with an "target area fire" command as well....
  19. Have I missed it? Or is there a quick way to assign (say a #) for differing groups / units (for quick reference / jump to them). In Real Time it is quite difficult to keep track of all your units by swinging around camera angles.... And there isn't a "satalite view / map" ...is there? (outside of zooming up).
  20. Is the pause option (just hitting escape) or by hitting the "red button" of the GUI...
