  1. Cant play now, because lost my terrain mod, but looking forward to get it when cmmods would start. My mail is in profile, and ICQ is 282-677-392
  2. I have installed some mods from cmmods.com, and amongst them there were terran mod which makes open ground colored depending of how high it is. It was not very good-looking, but helps much. And then I installed some other mods and lost it. I looked though all cmmods, but havent found it ;( Can somebody link me the mod with samo properties- it "replace" "real-looking" Cm map into a plain-paper map with heights marked dofferent colors. It really helps a lot. Thanks a lot.
  3. Everybody, who wants IP-playing this weekend mail to steel_monkey@rambler.ru.
  4. I can play this weekend, but there is one problem. I have Moscow time zone, and I prefer to play at daytime.
  5. As I heard, AFVs` models don`t reflect real dimensions. They were drawn "from memory". lol, how can it be hardcore game.
  6. Sergei. Write me a letter, perhaps I can help you.
  7. Heh, I saw some posts about this game (it was relised aome time ago? I dont know, how his happenned). I is worther than CMBB at many aspects: units dont look like "real" soldiers (light tank stand in the crest of the hill under fire of heavy tank, and dont revers), no command delays, unlimited ammo (I just read posts, I hadnt, played yhis game. Perhaps, ammo load is flexible), only winter scenarios. I dont know if it was fixed, but as it was some time ago, CMBB is much better.
  8. Sorry for stupid question, but what version of zip it was pcked? My 7-zip cant open it.
  9. It is obviously, how this command work for infantry. But not so obvious for vichles. There are some ideas that after this, crews turn off engine, so sound contact would be lost. But this is only experience, that might be not true. So, how does it work?
  10. I have some ideas about 80mm stug plates and 82mm tiger plates. At the beginning, Stug 3s plates were 50mm face-hardened. Face-hardened armor is known to have better perfomance nearly 20-30%. Then, these plates were replaced with 80mm homogen plates(and 50+30). They were easier to construct and use. Tiger plates were "cemented" (sharp-nosed projectiles requered for better perfomance), so they were not the same as stug plates. Perhaps, this is a key to get the point.
  11. There is ideas, captured AFVs were not changed with patches-perhaps, they were lost from changing due to not very large use.
  12. Caution! Not for Sigrun! Some translations from russian about tiger. Letter of military soviet of armored and mechanized forces of Red Army about results of testing German tank T-6. 4th may of 1943. Absolutely secret. To the marshal of Soviet Union Comrade Stalin. About fire tests at the period from 24 till 30 april this year on sciense-explorer battlefield GBTU KA. There were made tests of arty sistems of Red Army. Also 88mm gun was tested on T-34 and KV-1. Results: Side, rear and turret armor 82mm thick can be penetrated (at strate angle of projectile hit): 1. Tungsten projectile of 45mm AT gun model 1942 year -from 350 meters. 2. Tungsten projectile of 45mm tank gun model 1937 year -from 200 meters. 3. AP (solid) projectile of 57mm AT gun ZIS-2 - from 1000m. 4. AP projectile 85mm AA gun-from 1500m. 5. AP (solid) projectile of English 57mm tank gun -from 600m. 6. AP (solid) projectile of English 57mm AT gun -from 1000m. 7. AP (solid) projectile of American 75mm tank gun -from 600m. Front armor of T-6 100mm thick can be penetrated with 85mm AA gun (AP projectile) from 1000m. Fire from 76mm F-34 gun on T-6`s side (82mm) srom 200m showed AP projectiles of this caliber are brittle, and broke up from impact. Tungsten 76mm projectiles cant penetrate fron armor from 500m. T-6`s 88mm gun can penetrate (AP ammo): 1. The thickiest part of T-34 (cast 140 mm bar), and front turret from 1500m. 2. The thickiest part of KV-1 105mm (75mm armor and 30mm screen) from 1500m. (here follow a lot of requests about emprovements, hard to translate) Member of Military Soviet, general-leutenant of armor forces, Korobkov. Second commander (my dictionary has broken, I cant find correct word) of armored and mechanized forces, general-leutenant Biriukov. From author: those, who had done this test would have been shot if they had told "tiger is not a problem" rather than "tiger is big problem".
  13. Lets return to tigers. It was really good AFV, but dont forget-it was very hard to exploit. In reality, one day of usage requred nearly 2-3 days of tecknical support-it was often compared with Luftwaffe planes. And it requred a lot of fuel (gasoline, not exonomic diesel). There were ideas to unit each two tiger battalions-one would be in support, another could be in battle. Knikapf`s transmission was good, but two columns of wheels-one of the nightmares of German tecknical support service.
  14. Sigrun! Cold War has ended, stop reading anti-soviet agenda books, memuars or bestsellers. They are written for profit rather than to show thruth. The only way to know the reality is talking (!) with those, who took part in War. About culture: at the time of Soviet Union, our education was one of the best- many sciensists moved to Europe and America aftet 1990, they were very good specialists. About culture of production-it is really low, but it doesnt really changes the matter.
  15. They were bloody bears with big teeth in their espesial fur hats, called "ushanka" with a big red star on it. They had no weapons-they could win only in case of Brave German guys would run out of ammo. Sigrun. Do you really think Germans were superior race? I dont think so. Perhaps, at the beginning of the War, Red Army was not very well trained, but everything changed to the end. And wat about bloody crimes, made by brave German soldiers- gas cammeras, mass murders and others. P.S. I heard about different things, taken place in captured Berlin. Someone told soviet soldiers shared their meal with civilians and helped them. And no crimes were allowed- maradeurs were shot. I dont know if it was real, but I herd it from non-soviet sources. P.P.S. I dont know about luftwaffe guis, but results of all "work" shturm aviation (as I read in Iremember, IL-2 pilot described) were pictured from air (there were plane in squardon for this reason, with trained pilot). Without it, sortie was not counted.
  16. As I heard from man, who was CMBB advisor from Russian Battlefield site, that all penetration tables were compared and changed due to different definitions of penetration phenomenon from both sides-nearly 10%.
  17. It is said in manual that high-magnification optics in low-light conditions is worhter than low-magnification (standart). Marder has long range, if I am correct, so T-34 would habe seen him firts.
  18. Was your planes effective. And what about bloody Henscheles? It is very interesting for me, because I always lose this scenario because of planes.
  19. How to play this scenario? I first time tried revers slope defense (I didn`t know enemy forces at that time). My infantry was beaten by dozen of T3 and 4 T6. I hide all my tanks, because they have no radios mostly, so flanking is very hard. Only way not to lose is high speed maneuvering, but matildas and KV2s are too heavy. Exchange green T-34s for veteran T3s is very expensive. Any ideas? P.S. Search of any information about this scenario is obviously impossible.
  20. Hotkeys are really good help! Using mous only is whaisting of time, IMO.
  21. RPG 1940 could penetrate 20 mm armor. It rely only on great explosive effect. Advanced RPG (don`t know the model) penetrative ability was increased to 25 mm, but also became havier-hard to throw to distanse more 20 m.
  22. Oh! You are living at wonderful place!
  23. 22th of June 1941, USSR was perfidiously attacked by NAZI Gegman. Nothing to say besides:memory.
  24. This will answer a lot of questions about IL-2. http://www.iremember.ru. I hadn`t seen, if the pilots remembrances were translated, but i will make summary of some articles as soon as have free time.
