  1. And it might not be able to make the decision. If the Deploy feature was that much of an encumbrance to players, BF would've done something about it long ago. It's not like it's a new feature, after all.
  2. Personally, I'm happy with the stock BF textures. While Aris does good work, it's just not to my taste.
  3. I can already hear the complaints now if crew-served weapons automatically deployed when reaching a waypoint.
  4. It's fine as it is. Good grief, it's one button click.
  5. Yes, they were. .303 belts were that way all the way back to WWI.
  6. Any supposed knowledge JK has of military matters is far outweighed by his extreme vulnerability to believe and then promote here any crackpot author who's ever written a book (e.g., Suvorov) or those who simply have been shown to be frauds - all the while promoting the info as "fascinating!" or "fantastic!" And then of course there's his - shall we say - extremely oddball beliefs about alien life forms and his efforts to make a buck off said beliefs. And that's what my original comment was in response to.
  7. There was a thread posted here not too long ago about a German sniper who used the bodies of his comrades to soak up bullets that the Russians were shooting at him: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1415329&postcount=26
  8. Ah, then that explains it! Thanks! I was wondering why StuG formations in CMFI are referred to as companies and not batteries.
  9. It was still producing, among other things, precision optics for the German military at this point in the war and was a transportation hub for troops being sent to the East. That makes it a valid military target. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of_Dresden_in_World_War_II#Military_and_industrial_profile
  10. Steve, I hope I'm not being dense but...something is not right here. I just took a look at a formation of StuGs in CMBN. Both crew models are rendered with the red waffenfarbe on the caps and shirts. No problem at all there, it looks good. Then, I loaded up CMFI and again chose a StuG formation. The StuG crews there are not using the assault gun uniforms w/red Waffenfarbe. The caps and uniforms here sport the pink panzer waffenfarbe. This, in spite of the fact that of course there are separate assault gun red waffenfarbe uniform textures. And just to be doubly clear, I'm not using any texture mods of any sort. All is 100% stock.
  11. All of the ones I've seen show up at the highest level of detail and as close to the camera as one can go.
  12. Alright, I just made a check of the files. Steve, I think you need to take a look at your list of texture files again. In CMFI, there absolutely are separate texture files for assault gun crewmen and for tank crews. However, in-game the assault gun crews use the same uniform (pink waffenfarbe) as the tank crews. Contrast that with CMFI: the tank crews have the pink waffenfarbe trim, while the assault gun crews wear the correct red waffenfarbe trim.
  13. Really? I know for a fact that StuG / StuH crews in CMBN have the red waffenfarbe on their uniforms, and I'm practically certain I've seen the same color of waffenfarbe in the texture files for assault gun crews in CMFI.
  14. Valid military target. Don't believe the propaganda Goebbels spewed after this attack.
  15. German army, grenadier battalion, standard gray uniform for all soldiers, ncos, and officers: the texture for the shirt collar is somewhat stretched. It's especially noticeable on the company CO uniform texture.
  16. German gun crew leader on 88mm L/71 PaK 43/41 in CMBN wears a uniform with Gefreiter sleeve insignia. Infantry formation. Leader is shown to be an Unteroffizer in the information panel. On American soldiers, the textures for the map /document case and the M1911 pistol holster are stretched badly on the sides. Doesn't matter if it's an officer, nco, etc. - they all have this problem.
  17. German assault gun crews (StuG and StuH) in CMFI do not use the uniform variation that features the red waffenfarbe (German army panzer formation).
  18. Zero, because modules don't add new features, only content.
  19. I dunno about their morality, but morale? Yeah it's likely to take a hit.
  20. When I saw the thread topic I initially thought "sure, it was probably a supply truck filled with troops."
  21. Green is ammo reserved for the vehicle. White is ammo that can be acquired by troops. "White" ammo will be automatically acquired by the vehicle crew if the "Green" ammo is expended. E.g., a halftrack with a .50cal MG will automatically start using .50cal ammo from the "White" category once all of its "Green" ammo has run out.
