  1. Not necessary, just killing time here hoping the module comes out soon enough that I can at least load it before hitting the road. Time for a refill of the coffee, that will kill another few minutes.
  2. This would be about the time I'd question your proofreading skills mister plagerizer.
  3. It was too dang funny to comment on, especially the buddy aid section.
  4. Have you tried just refreshing the page. When i log in it usually does not show me logged in, but if I refresh all becomes as it should be...unfortunately for those sick of my posts.
  5. Steve (Sitting back with a big ole stogie in one hand and a glass of whiskey in the other): So Charles, should we add the armor covered arc this year or do we just keep these losers hanging? Charles (well at least his brain as it sits quitely digesting nutrients in it's jar): gurgle... Steve: yeah I hate wargamers too. The whole lot of em really need to go find another hobby, just doing our part here to help by driving em nuts enough over these issues to eventually sit up and go outside for a walk. Charles: gurgle Steve: What's that, it is only one line of code? Huh same as the hand to hand stuff eh? Well no I still think we can't release that. After all, they would just complain about something else and they really need to get some outside time. Charles: gurgle gurgle Steve (pitching near out of his chair in hysterical laughter, eventually sitting back up and drying his eyes): A change log? But we haven't changed anything! Heck I can't even keep straight what I am posting for the fake beta tester avatars I created. Charles: gurgle Steve: Oh that is cruel, funny but cruel. That'll keep the forum busy for at least a few days as they vent their spleens. God forbid they ever find out we already have everything created we are gonna release for the next 10 years. Charles: gurgle Steve (looking at jar as he holds his nose): You really need to cut back on the refried beans. (Steve absently gazes out the window for a few minutes) You do have to admit it has been good for us. (this last said as Steve looks out the giant bay window of the mansion on their private island in the Caribbean as the nude vollyball tournament continues.) Little do the nerds realize BFC stands for Built for Cash. Charles: gurgle *snicker* gurgle Steve: Oh yeah are you gonna visit my farm today? Charles: gurgle Steve: Farmville is NOT like that lame a**game we put out for these nerds! Charles: gurgle Steve: You unfriended me?!!
  6. Mmm maybe a line too far, but if you really want to have some fun, go view the poster's (triccor)4 other posts on youtube, particularly the "Lady Panther". I won't go into anymore detail on my thoughts having watched, Phil is trying to get us all to stay on the high road...sorry if we keep failing ya Phil. :-P
  7. How were they gonna get it into the sub? It's a might bit bigger than a torpedo and exploding underwater wouldn't quite have the same impact. You also gotta hope you actually make it to target. If we are gonna kill time with what ifs, can we pick one that doesn't require 50 thousand conditions for it to come true? How about the US gets wind of Pearl Harbor and lays a big ass ambush ala Midway? Or Stalin doesn't try to reorganize Russian defenses forward just prior to Barbarossa? Or the Allies sit up and take notice of hints of a push through the Ardennes in 1940 and prepare a nice welcoming party. I know we all would in our secret gaming hearts never want the war to have ended sooner - What no Normandy? No CMBN?!! The what ifs that are most likely to have affected the war and not have a ton of preconditions to work usually (in my addled mind anyway) mean the war is shortened and Germany is even worse off. How about Chamberlain grows a pair and the allies declare war earlier. Or the UK and France sieze the moment and attack Germany during the invasion of Poland and the Russians jump in as well.
  8. I was thinking more along the lines of head of his own drug cartel....
  9. Outstanding! Beer in fridge, check. Snacks in cupboard, check. Plenty of time to ...aww crap, less than a week and it's on the road again.... Well at last there will be new subject for the forum.
  10. Just out of curiosity, is this everything or is it just a primary list? For example the issue of units in a pbem game not being able to exit a bunker, is that expected to still be an issue to address at a later point and simply didn't make the cut this time around or is that kind of too far back to remember having fixed?
  11. Other folks have listed a number of reasons why the what if for Germany is pretty far fetched, but there is another. Germany had no delivery system for the bomb. The V2 wasn't gonna carry one so Germany would have been left with employing it as a giant IED at best.
  12. Just so long as you guys aren't trying to do it from a surgery bed ala Phil. So what timezone are you guys basing the end of the weekend on?
  13. This is all a common error. These troops were part of a little known elite unit that was formed prior to the demise of the luftwaffe. They were the "instant tank camouflage force" or ITCF. They would move along with the armor and if anyone sighted german aircraft they were to immediately leap onto the tank turning it into a large shrub. Initial tests in the western desert seemed to produce poor results though no one knows why. It is a common mistake to refer to these guys as Hobart's funnies, they were not actually part of Hobart's units.
  14. Well I can't speak for anyone else but you have thoroughly shamed me about bugging you guys to speed things up. As to the topic of the thread, you have to make a choice. Get all the possible details in the game you want (tank riders, flames, hand to hand etc etc) and be willing to wait another few years probably before we see the game...and hope BFC likes living hand to mouth before they see some income...or you accept what you have knowing they had to make choices and move on. We've known there is no hand to hand for a year now...I think it might be time to move on. And if I dare say it - It was that way in CMSF. I have yet to have a situation where my pixeltrruppen didn't have some means to kill one another so while it might be nice to see some occasional hand to hand, it certainly isn't breaking the game for me.
  15. Good point but as someone who does play WEGO exclusively, this would be way way down on the priority list for me. What I would like is some ability to pick a jeep for example and designate whatever ammo I want to have in it. Be nice to have the capability to do an ammo resupply of mortar or AT rounds for example in a long scenario. There are likely some ways to do this to some extent using existing tools, but the ones I have seen so far are a little convoluted.
  16. In a very satisfying moment I just slipped a bazooka team along a hedgerow flanking an StuG III, put a single round into and then proceeded to gun down most of the crew as they exited (playing RTM campaign). First chance I have had to play this game in over a month and it hasn't lost anything over time. Beautiful maps, great campaign/scenario design and an awesome game. 7 days left for a chance to see the CW module before I hit the road again......
  17. That link in your sig is friggin hysterical.
  18. Waaaaaaayyy back when CMBN was still only a couple months old I did an AAR of a battle in Bois de Baugin with Broadsword. In that fight I had a 50mm AT gun that was eventually manned by only the team commander and he wasn't crack. He fired until he was out of ammo completely and I finally had him abandon the gun. This guy was under fire from mortars, Shermans etc. Not sure if you recall Broadsword, but that was the gun holding the center by the paddock.
  19. Friggin logic, there you go again Martin. psssst please release the krake.. oops wrong, release the change log. It would shut us all up for at least a few minutes while we read it...of course it would then spawn 52 threads over what wasn't included, but you are gonna get that anyway.
  20. There is actually a screenshot in one of these threads showing it.
  21. Absolutely not... I'd most definitely crawl away and go look for someplace to change my underwear.
  22. Friendly word of advice - before making a comment along the lines of "why has this module taken 8 months to do?", it would be worth taking a few minutes to read the 2 threads on the subject. It just comes out all wrong.
  23. Step away from the keyboard...... If you have pre ordered you'll get notification anyway. I have connected that to the emergency earthquake alarm system in San Jose so even if I am out I'll know...unfortunately my neighbors will likely be freaking out.
  24. Read in context. I have 10 days where i could actually download it...therefore it will not be released. Sure that's official, I will officially be on the road again in 10 days.
