  1. yeah but they have really been slacking off lately. I think their crayons melted in the heat wave.
  2. Well he didn't include all the incurred costs. Divorce settlements, therapy for CM AA. (Hi my name is sburke and I am a CMaholic). Lost jobs, the electrical costs etc etc...it is actually a really frightfully expensive hobby.
  3. Actually there were 2 incidents in our battle where a moving vehicle got the drop on a stationary one despite moving in the relative open. In both situations however the stationary vehicle was buttoned up and facing the wrong way.
  4. Well when I was a young bored sprite forced to spend my summer weekends in a trailer camp in Sea Isle City NJ one summer the CSNY version came out and that is what was on the jukebox ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME Besides he asked the title, not the author. What did I win? ...... um.. anything? A free drink if I somehow make that get together?
  5. Broadsword and I did not find this to be the normal case. I think Broadsword and I both found that if we pulled into the roadway if there is a vehicle already waiting, they would shoot first. Here is a whole Bttn vs Bttn AAR and not one incident I recall where the moving vehicle got off first shot unless it moved up behind a hedgerow. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=104104
  6. sheesh, where are our donkey grogs? Someone mind modding that to a burro? better yet, a mule.
  7. $10, really? We have gotten to be such tightwads we are gonna bicker whether a major upgrade is worth $10? LOL Man I feel for you guys when you have real major investments in your life and you gotta deal with all the BS that goes with them. Hell I'll spend $10 on a lunch that will likely be crappy anyway.
  8. Did I really see an ad for a new dumb ass reality TV show that Wesley Clark is participating in? And Todd Palin is gonna go play fake army man? WTF? No wonder I never watch tv anymore.
  9. Here ya go http://www.wargamer.com/article/3215/community-interview-combat-mission-fortress-italy
  10. Finally finished up Sept Hope and found it to be a pretty good read. It had the added advantage of delving into some of the actions of the 104th ID in helping to clear the Scheldt. There was also a considerable amount on the commitment of the 82nd and the 101st to "the Island" before their eventual withdrawal into reserve. As far as the debate on who is responsible, the author's position is unequivocally Eisenhower. It doesn't let Monty (or much of anyone else) off the hook. But the author's position is that Eisenhower needed to be telling Montgomery very specifically to concentrate on the clearing of Antwerp and he did not. Lot of detail on the fighting by both American Airborne divisions (this is a book specifically about the American units fighting in MG) and has a lot specifically about the bitter fight in Nijmegen. Worth getting and it is available for the Kindle.
  11. What? What are you talking about? Isn't this for CMSF2?
  12. I will say this much, the things you can do in Tokyo are QUITE different than after hours entertainment in San Francisco... enough said on that topic, there are impressionable youngsters around here.
  13. Umm the tip was- don't play old counter games...moving right along...
  14. As Broadsword put it recently on reading some reviewer talking about unpacking a board game and lovingly examining the counters. "like reading about wargamer porn". I haven't laughed that hard in quite some time. It is just too darn appropriate. Meanwhile I mounted Screaming Eagles in Holland on a 3x4 panel and then mounted a thin sheet of plexiglass over it to allow me to mark it up to my hearts content. It has space allocated in my home office so I can stare at it and draw up op plans.....my office centerfold as it were.
  15. It might actually be in your interest to read through a few posts on the topic. You aren't commenting into a vacumn. There has been quite a bit of heated commentary on both the difference between CMBO and the way CMx2 modules have worked that goes back quite a few years and the pricing model which had raged all over this forum since May. I also hear George MC can count using his toes, he is quite talented. Unfortunately he is also cross eyed so he tends to double the figures. Sorry to blow your cover George, but double counting your VL points was making it quite obvious.
  16. Uniforms made in China, choreography by Blackwater. Hey when our Olympians tweet things like "When's da gun shooting competition", what did you expect?
  17. The announcement is posted right on the main page. Read that and if it still isn't clear ask them. As far as I know no one has ever suggested $60 for an update or patch. Patch is free, update is $5 bundled, $10 stand alone. Modules are full price (generally $35 I think).
  18. Neither. You should read the announcements on the family concept for the game, they are likely clearer than me repeating them. A game constitutes a specific period (terrain, available vehicles and ToEs being the restrictive factors) The CMBN family was always intended to cover up to and include Market Garden with it's additional modules. Hopefully that means it would run into November. The Bulge family and it's modules would cover Dec. and into 1945. One of the items specifically targeted for the Bulge family is snow and associated terrain conditions. The source is BF in a number of announcements on the Family release schedule. (another example is the first Eastern Front game for Bagration. It will likely not have snow conditions as well.)
  19. Likely never. CMBN will likely only cover until October/November. The Bulge family will get you your Winter ice capades.
  20. I am a fellow west coaster, but yes you are right, that is odd. Forget I mentioned it.
  21. None at all, I was able to assemble the PC and hook up the monitor no problem. Why do you ask? Odd hour for you to be up.
