  1. Don't know honestly. While is is cool to see the new military hardware, I prefer the events that focus on those who gave so much as opposed to muscle flexing displays of power. Like this event - this to me is much more appropriate. http://news.yahoo.com/ap-photos-remains-soviet-soldiers-recovered-buried-184854650.html
  2. May 9th, the war in Europe officially ends while a new one begins. http://www.doomedsoldiers.com/v-e-day-May-9-1945-in-Grajewo-Poland.html http://news.yahoo.com/lithuanian-resistance-soviet-wwii-win-meant-war-194354076.html
  3. Probably a cross over in expectation "someone else" was reporting it. We aren't paid and we do take holidays.
  4. I am not sure what that was reference to. I was speaking more about tactical behavior. Even a small map with a platoon unit would in reality have run more like 4 hours. CM is like taking a 2 hour movie and just cutting it to the action sequences and ending up with the trailer.
  5. Why, does it bother you when I refer to my liege Sir Joe Shaw JFLPCT Knight Champion of the M.B.T., Justicar for Life of the Peng Challenge Thread, Creator of the Peng Challenge Thread Podcast, CessPool Drain Commissioner and Founder of the Shavian House by his full title - Sir Joe Shaw JFLPCT Knight Champion of the M.B.T., Justicar for Life of the Peng Challenge Thread, Creator of the Peng Challenge Thread Podcast, CessPool Drain Commissioner and Founder of the Shavian House? Think before you answer. I do realize that would probably be a first, but heck even Charlie Brown had to eventually get a piece of candy at Halloween.
  6. Ha, another one has been assimilated! Damn I wish my other hobby were this cheap. Looking to get a new jointer for my workshop. Struggling to not spend over a $1000 on it.
  7. No way, by the time they could consider Armata, Steve will already be focused on Space Lobsters.
  8. Probably best if everyone lets it go. We are obviously at the point of irreconcilable differences. Let the lawyers work out who gets custody of the outhouse and the horseshoe pit and move on. Comments that are partisan will only keep it going. The vehicle breakdowns in the parade prep make their own argument about systems status and potential teething issues. None of us can guess at long term decisions and results, none of us have any hard data or crystal ball and the vehicles absolutely will not make it into CM until they are in a production/information state to allow for that. In the meantime, it is all airbrushed tank porn and fun to look at.
  9. Only other option might be to have someone purchase for you then you then send them a check, nice bottle of wine or some other barter item. They then buy it and send you the license key. No different really than any other form of gifting.
  10. Let's face it, while CM is a great game with very good ballistic modeling, most of us rarely play in anything near realistic behavior. We charge tanks up close in woods combat, we rush around buildings because we know from all the Intel from our other teams that nothing threatening is nearby to try and catch that enemy vehicle from a blind side. Net result is our tactical behavior ends up creating unrealistic results etc because the behavior doesn't even come close to how battles were really fought. Same reason our casualty figures are skewed, same reason a battle that would have taken an entire day is fought through in less than an hour etc etc It isn't the game creating these anomalies, it is us. The game has it's own limitations, but we have folks who already face time constraints fighting through a battle. They certainly are not interested in seeing a 30 minute platoon fight suddenly be 4 hours long and inconclusive at that.
  11. Well one should never rule out human error no matter how idiot proof you make something I can just hear the tech guy as he showed up https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=t2F1rFmyQmY
  12. I am still waiting for (insert name here) you ignorant slut.
  13. I think I'll stick with my San Jose weather. I did discuss with the wife about retiring to Pennsylvania where I grew up as retirement is better. She had 4 words for me. Cold, heat, bugs, no.
  14. The brain in the jar also has no hands to manipulate the sock puppet.
  15. Fixed that for you to the extent it was actually correctable.
  16. Before you get too sarcastic the Merkava put the engine in front. It isn't like that can't be done.
  17. Geez you're young. Good to know, you should be cranking out games well into my retirement. All is good with the world.
  18. One should do a little more research than just to find something that on it's surface supports one's argument especially if just a wee bit more looking totally undermines said argument. price of oil $16 January 1999 price of oil $125 July 2008 price of oil $105 May 2014 Price of Oil $55 today and expectations are it may not hold at that number. It will be real interesting what those World Bank numbers look like for 2015. http://oilpricefrom1999to2008.blogspot.com/
  19. you can have two installs at different versions if you want to play both.
  20. Corsican, smorsican, it was the FRENCH EMPIRE! Though one of the best meals I ever had was a Corsican restaurant in Paris. http://www.lavillacorse.com/rive-gauche.php Not sure if it is always on the menu, but I had the Wild Boar. I'd have ordered a second entree if I had the room in my stomach.
  21. I put down the pissbucket which was then taken up by one squired by you know who... and that all came to an ignominious end. Leave well enough alone. When my sire Sir Joe Shaw JFLPCT Knight Champion of the M.B.T., Justicar for Life of the Peng Challenge Thread, Creator of the Peng Challenge Thread Podcast, CessPool Drain Commissioner and Founder of the Shavian House deems it time, it will be time, not a moment before. Personally I view Kniggethood as sort of the management of the cesspool. As with anywhere else the higher one goes in management, the more brain cells one seems to lose trying to utilize as many of the latest buzz words while speaking. This is of course excepting my sire Sir Joe Shaw JFLPCT Knight Champion of the M.B.T., Justicar for Life of the Peng Challenge Thread, Creator of the Peng Challenge Thread Podcast, CessPool Drain Commissioner and Founder of the Shavian House.
  22. Nice to know you can actually DO something. Anything really. As for trying to find a non-idiot to explain something to you, why bother? It isn't like you would understand them. Now being a squire yet, I think it is probably up to me to fetch you a drink. Anything in particular or would just any of the vile swill we keep around here suffice?
