  1. Didn't know there was a version without some form of RWS. I was thinking that maybe the RWS was damaged and replaced. Is the recon version armed at all straight off the production line?

  3. Speed of sound would make the most dramatic difference.
  4. definitely trolling, but I do think a spell that resurrects dead soldiers and gives you a limited ability to command them as shambling zombie horde would be good.
  5. I will be interested to see how BFC handles highway interchanges (and I do dearly hope they won't dodge that one).

  8. Yes, catches them thar RPGs. Meanwhile, a donkey cart races Strykers in Northern Iraq (the donkey cart pwn'd the Strykers, obviously): http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/1751/42161258084vy.jpg Interesting to note the shielded .50 on the rear Stryker. Remote turret replaced?

  11. Hey! Stop stealing images from my "Stryker units in action" (a.k.a., "fantasy screenshots") thread! [ December 09, 2005, 04:40 PM: Message edited by: akd ]
  12. mmm...that's not really what SF trains for. If the high value target is in the midst of an active battlefield and surrounded by active units under their command, then a "snatch" is not really an option anymore.

  14. I tried to download the damn thing last night and kept getting violated by horrible Honda ads.
  15. I know. I think the use of the term "Haji" will be one of the greatest ironies that comes out of this war. I learned a new word a few days ago that I wish was in vogue. "Mufsidoon." Apparently it translates loosely to "evildoers" (GW would be proud) and is the appropiate word in Arabic to use for someone who kills unjustly, e.g. a terrorist. Mufsi. I like it. war, and rumors of war. The name is appropiate and "stuck" rightly. AKM is an AK-47. AK-47 is not an AKM. Similarly, M16A1, M16A2, M16A3 and M16A4 are all M16s to us. And apparently the Serbs continue to manufacture their own version of the AK-47 with a milled received, so the original spirit of the AK-47 lives on. 16. If the enemy is suppressed, he is no longer a target for the infantry machine gun. Spectre, in that it functions largely as a direct extenstion of the infantryman (the Spectre is seldom, if ever, deployed to hunt on its own), doesn't exactly fit in the general, timeless view your are expounding of the relationship between infantry and supporting weapons. In such a case, the infantryman kills with an IR designator instead of a rifle. Suppresion may play no role at all in such an event.
  17. Shut up. You watch too many movies and are making us dumb by proximity.

  19. Practical effect and functional purpose are two different things and should not be confused.
  20. The Russians are hardly using the AN-94, so I can't see why Syria would be acquiring them in the next two years.
  21. 22. Uhh...the enemy is suppressed because you are trying to kill him with a weapon designed to kill him. Bit of an ass-backwards argument there.
