  1. And a tame bunch at that. I had a couple of fifth grade girls go at it today. Red cards, all around.
  2. I think that the Pacific does not lend itself to company level based games. There were relatively few clear company vs. company battles compared to the other theaters. Sure, you could have scenarios from Guadalcanal, Okinawa, Malaysia, the Philippines, and parts of China. But the majority of the battles fought were actions carried out by spread out units where command and control was almost nonexistent. For all of those beach landings, and small unit ambushes, officers played a small role. Battles were won by groups of two or three men taking the initiative and assaulting the enemy and freeing up the advance for a few dozen meters. Fighting also took place at much closer range. Many battles devolved into hand to hand fighting. Bayonet charges would have to be modelled as well. Hard to do with the current system. Maybe with a squad based game, but for CMx2 I will be happy with Europe. Plus, no armor vs armor worthy of comment.
  3. They do, when under fire. And just for the record, "crawl"="sneak" in the more recent two CM games. I do use sneak in battle, usually when there is little cover other than wheat or brush. It is great for moving a short distance but can tire out troops, especially heavy weapons, over any serious distance. So I use it sparingly, and only over small distances when there is little cover.
  4. I once took out a KV with this command, but after its destruction the team stood in open ground until it was destroyed. Never worked again. (tried it about 5 more times) That's the problem with sending infantry out of cover.
  5. Unibrow Beer? Is that something Madmatt brews? *leaves on forum sabbatical for two months* </font>
  6. That's why I added the (I think). I know next to nothing on uniforms, so that was just a suppostion. I was more concerned with getting the tank right.
  7. The American prototype was the T-3. It looks like a Stuart turret because it is armed with a 37mm. It also appears to lack a co-ax mg, a sure sign of an early BT. [ September 21, 2005, 03:44 PM: Message edited by: stoat ]
  8. It has a Christie suspension, which as we know was not utilized in America before the war. It was designed to drive on tracks and wheels, as can be evidenced by the forward drive wheel in the picture. Also, the officers in the background seem to be wearing some kind of sash, which would make them Russian (I think).
  9. Easy killer. It's just that you showed up suddenly and got those 70 posts in two days by posting in every thread. That tends to annoy people. (not saying I'm better or worse) BTW, what's with the picture reference?
  10. After all, it was obvious that tyffies got him.
  11. Another one? Geez, pretty soon Canadians will outnumber people here.
  12. Did you mean to type "about"? Using the provided clues, I would guess the first game would be set in WWII and would be titled: Combat Mission-Beyond Afrika to Berlin.
  13. A hunch. It was disproven. It shan't be spoken of again.
  14. But that implies that wounded would be modeled.
