  1. Knokke. What models are you trying to import? You've got me all excited now.
  2. Does anyone know a good athlete from a Third World nation who will be competing for his own nation in the coming Olympics? If any one thing is destined to make these Games pointless in the future it's surely this.
  3. Oh well. At least I've got the title of this thread as my wallpaper
  4. So taking things in the direction of ' people labelling', in the UK we have labels for at least three of the nationalities here, 'Jocks' for the Scots, 'Taffs' for the Welsh and 'Paddies' for the Irish but people from various regions or cities are also labelled, 'Scousers', 'Geordies', 'Cockneys' etc. I can't recall hearing many such nicknames from the States except 'Hoosier' and 'Tarheel'.
  5. I can remember the Cuban Missile crisis and even in this far-flung part of the British Isles I know people were extremely worried. As a child I didn't really understand the complexities of the situation but I suppose I was picking up from adult conversations how serious things were and I can remember being very frightened that my safe little world was about to come crashing down.
  6. After ' Saceren' and then 'Sarecen' I think maybe numbers aren't such a bad idea after all.
  7. Sacerens??? Bloody hell. SARECENS!!!
  8. It seems to me that in the selection of names for military hardware Americans leave a lot to be desired. Now we Brits are alleged to be the cold, dour, unemotional, stiff upper lip and downright dull people but damn it, at least if we intend to kill anyone with a machine we pay the victims the complement of giving it a 'proper' name. Think about it. Scimitars, Challengers, Sacerens the list is endless and all names that give off the 'clang' of history. But. I was watching Mark Ezra's excellent videos yesterday and this was the lead in to one. ' You have a LAV ATGM Section, a LAV 25 A2 Scout Platoon and your HQ LAV C2A2 with the XO's LAC 25 A2 in support.' This isn't even a recent phenonemon. In days past the Brits had Spitfires, Hurricanes and Lancasters. What did the Yanks have? P47s, P51s and B17s. Please!!!
  9. Yes sadly this seems to be true. A small group of 'regulars' have hung around here because we believed that for all its' faults the game had huge potential initially as a European theatre WWII tactical game and that it would be improved further with a paid for addon that would give us things like enterable buildings and improvements in the gameplay before the engine was moved on to cover completely new paid for theatres, all the while the game itself steadily improving as the Devs gained more experience and got to know what the paying customer wanted from the game,( a sort of Russian Battlefront.com.)As things stand now it doesn't look as if this is going to be the case.
  10. Well, I only know Sneaksie through these Forums but I'm sure he wasn't being deliberately misleading.
  11. Fair enough but with answers like this.... Topic: Addon or TOW2 in progress? sossen Junior Member Member # 27944 posted 28-03-2008 18:12 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will there be an offical addon or a TOW2? thx -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posts: 3 | Registered: Mar 2008 | IP: Logged Sneaksie Moderator Member # 18300 posted 28-03-2008 19:12 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, it's in the works. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posts: 619 | Registered: Sep 2005 | IP: Logged ........can you see how we have been mislead?
  12. Mmm.North Africa? I was hoping to see the European theatre developed a bit more before they moved on to something else. Stuff like towns for street fighting etc.It seems to me this will simply be another game of rural landscapes and given that we're talking about the desert,a less appealing looking landscape at that.
  13. Welcome. I may be wrong but yes, I believe it does.
  14. Me too.Anyone had more success than me with the colours editor in the landscape section? What are the settings for instance for that light colour brown some of the fields are painted in?
  15. Another great patch.Thanks.Any chance of some urban settings some time in the future?

  18. Brilliant!! Thanks for the answer.
  19. Is it possible with the Map Editor to make river fords that infantry and vehicles will be able to cross and if so how will this be animated? I mean will the infantry wade through the water which may be knee or waist high and vehicles drive through partially submerged?
  20. Seems to me it went something like this... Battlefront announce new CM game with new engine.WWII gamers(the majority of their customers?),think'Bound to be WWII.What else?' WWII gamers are happy. Battlefront say 'No.We are fed up of making WWII games. This is going to be modern combat. We realise that most of you don't want this but if you want our next game this is what it's going to be.Modern warfare fans and other anti WWII people are happy. WWII gamers think'OK.we'll just bite the bullet and buy it anyway after all it is a Battlefront game so it's bound to be good.' Battlefront are happy. CMSF comes out with all its' problems. No one is happy.
  21. I totally agree with c3k on this.I have had the game for quite some time now but sadly I just cannot get into it.Personally I think to get anything out of it you need to possibly be American, preferably with some real life military experience and/or a modern warfare game grog. There are some great aspects of the game which I like and appreciate and it is still on my HD but overall I find myself tinkering with it now and then but nothing more.I struggle to understand a lot of the abbreviations and terminology which a lot of people on this forum seem to use like a second language and this puts me off generally joining in discussions here. As I have said I really appreciate the spectacle of the game. The detailling on the vehicles I think is beautiful and I like the human animation too but when I try to start a game and I'm greeted by that bewildering display of units and vehicles my heart sinks. For a 'non grog' player like me who never the less enjoys military gaming from most eras this is one daunting game believe me.
  22. Just downloaded them. Thanks.
