bruce90 replied to Blackcat's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
If you're prepared to go to Essex you should get a VC never mind a Preview. -

'The Big Show' by Pierre Clostermann has got to be the daddy of them all.'The Lonely Warrior' by Jean Offenberg is quite good too and if you like bombers then the classic has to be 'Enemy Coast Ahead' by Guy Gibson.

......and if not why not?

Moon. Thanks for your help and patience. I am now sorted and have got ToW installed, licensed and working. In the end I uninstalled and reinstalled both the game and Uberpatch twice and after the second reinstall it worked. With regards to my inability to log in to the helpdesk I'm afraid that still stands. I followed all your instructions to the letter but no go. I tried opening the Automated Response E-Mail and following the link "Click here to view your ticket status or replies" then on to the page which asks for my E-Mail address and password,( actually I think it wants my user name and password so I tried it both ways) then a page which gives my real world name and tells me that I am successfully logged in, click on "view tickets" then nothing more happens. Regards.

Moon. I hope I'm not trying your patience but I believe I am logged on and I know there is a difference in logging on here at the forum and logging on for the general site. I must admit though I simply used the same login and password for both so could that be a problem? I get no problem submitting the webform and I'm shown as be logged in with my real name.
-
Well I followed the link and used the webform, filled it in and submitted it but when I click on " View Tickets" and then get the Ticket List page, I still don't see any Tickets listed.
-
OK. Thanks for your answer.

After losing everything on my hard drive last week including of course my ToW License wiyhout being able to unlicense I reinstalled the game but I cannot connect to Battlefront to complete the job. I went through this forum and the knowledge base and it seems likely that I need to alter the DEP settings. Only thing is I don't have the "runserviceexe" file in my C/Windows folder. I submitted a ticket on Monday 9th but I've possibly done something wrong because I've had no EMail with the file and I don't see any response at the helpdesk to my ticket. Now maybe this is just the usual timescale for this sort of thing but just in case I didn't follow the ticket procedure properly I thought I'd raise the issue here. Regards AJD

Yep. Ironically we've got a game set in a theatre of WWII where there was much urban warfare and house to house fighting and we can't go into buildings and they are now developing a game set in a theatre of WWII where there was next to no urban warfare and house to house fighting and those who buy it will be able to enter buildings.

Getting the hang of map editor(sort of)
bruce90 replied to Cpl.Upham's topic in Theatre of War Modding Forum
I extracted the maps using Dr.Jones extractor and maps like the Clear Summer Map I can open the maintex with photoshop but when I try to open the maintex file in maps like Arras or Falaise I get this message... Could not open "C:/Documents and Settings/User/Desktop/MainTex.tga" because the file-format module cannot parse the file. -

Don't want to hijack Cpl.Uphams thread but it seems pointless starting a new one and I was wondering if it is possible to open the maintex files from all the maps. I've tried with Photoshop 7 and Gimp but it seems that only some of the maps maintex files can be opened. ( Get an error message on the rest.) -

Good looking map. Keep at it. After the disappointment of the new missions announcement we need all the input we can get. -
