  1. Take in mind that you or any (AI) player could rebuy lost units for less mpp. These units are marked with * in the production screen. AND China is getting support in case of mpp from the Allies. So you can't bet of lower pressure from China.

  3. The pics are too small to high-contrast the units but there are some alternative Mods in the repository. Maybe in SC3 Hubert and Bill will make some new better pictures for us?
  4. Units getting stronger when they have more than 1.5 experience, more or less. More or less because it depends on your readiness. Readiness depends on supply and strength. And here you may watch and hopefully get a feeling about it. In China experience is more important than in Europe I guess. When you make a good job you conquer 4-5 China cities in the first two years. Your units will become killer machines. My Jap units pretty often gets 3 experience medals and more. Some players are defensive in China and only conquer 1 or 2 cities to avoid losses. It depends on overall strategy but they will not earn much experience. The moral hit because of the oil embargo will strike them much harder. In Europe there isn't so much chance to rise the experience but the moral is pretty constant too. It depends on the game situation but land units under strength 8 will not fight as good as they could even when the have experience. So I reinforce pretty quick because it is better for readiness. Readiness seems to be a seldom property, for Axis more then Allies. A special situation appears for Jap carriers. They only fight real good (in the beginning) when they are reinforced up to 10, 11 when possible.
  5. Maybe not Sea Lion alone but you can't do much against it. And if Axis do it at the right time the higher war readiness is not important. A bit unrealistic. Yeah that is true. But when you play Axis quite fast in France and Africa then some reinforcements will not come and Allies can't do much. Against me too!
  6. Here is what I mean. I made this on turn 4 or 5. First take the Corps, then the Spec in the north of Hanoi. After this you catch good odds. When taking the Army in the east you can attack swith places with the Spec and the Spec could attack in the same turn. Now take the 12er Army. You will get a 0:3 odd. If the Corps still survive take the carriers and they will have 0:1 odds. Now chance for surviving in Nanning. Btw. Indochina gives you additional mpps for Japan. Similar situations you could make at the goals I am telling you before.
  7. With all due respect I free at least 5 Cities in 2 years. This is only a logical strategic procedure. Don't use Carriers too early cause then they will inflict no damage. Odds 0:0 or 1:0 If you use them after Spec Units they catch 0:1 (when they have full strength) what means up to 6 damages to the defending unit. If you focus on Nanning you may first free Hanoi. Hanoi has no defending unit after the fall of France. Sometimes I take Hanoi in the second turn what means there is a defender at strength 3 - no problem anyway. With Hanoi you could transfer a HQ for better supply when attacking Nanning. No matter what you wanna do it is better to attack constantly from the beginning cause later China has better Inf on adverse terrain for your forces. If you like we can play only Nanning in Multiplayer to show you how it will work.
  8. Do you research Inf and Mot already? If not take 2 chits for both. Next I would try to concentrate on following targets (small numbers) one after another. First you need to attack with your special forces cause they soften and reduce moral/readiness on defending units. That is important cause chinese HQ's rises the moral every turn. On target 1, the army strength 7, you could attack at 3 sides and you have the units in the near. If you attack a bit smart you could take up to 5/6 units for that. Maybe you won't need a special force here. After that try the city. Next is Foochow but you need armies and special forces as must. The marine vessels only inflict reliably damage to the city at worth <=7 and only if they have own strength 9 or 10. But you do not need them absolutely. After progress in research it will become easier. Build Tac Bomber too. They reduce moral at 30 % with one hit same as special forces.
  9. You are right SeaMonkey, Axis high tide is pretty interesting. But for Multiplayer Hubert and Bill may program an easy betting system cause it depends on opponents which side is in favour. For example GB gets 200 or 300 mpp before making a single turn. In our German Panzerliga ladder there are too much Axis wins I guess. And betting in advance of a match were much fun. Tournaments were much more interesting too.
  10. What I would like to see is more variable starting conditions. I mean GOLD has a clear advantage for Axis player in Multiplayer. If there was the ability to give some additional mpp's or other stuff at the beginning. We played that in SC1 times. It is possible when modding I know but it would be better to give a decision in turn 1 or something like that. More fun I guess...
  11. In my last games as Allie I always got Sealion from my opponent. Difficult to win then. As Axis I did not loose my last 6 games in row. Maybe it is only by happenstance but I believe GC GOLD is still not balanced. What about you guys? Do you win more Axis or Allie games?

  13. No, not always but often. Additionally I recognize that sometimes when right clicking on a unit the game freeze/stops. Esc and Alt+Tab and back solve this but strange anyway.
  14. A new win 8 Problem sometimes appears when ending a turn. When ending I could save a pbem turn but the game do not end. I could (and must) go to the Task Manager to end Programm. Afterwards the turn is fine but this should be fixed. The pic shows what I see when freezing at the end of the turn. "Ereignisse berücksichtigen" is localized by me for #PROCESSING_EVENTS Small note: By the way the text for the "alternative capital" Melbourne is interrupted.
  15. I guess no. This game is very long about 100 turns. 4 players are hard to handle. Maybe in smaller campaigns.
  16. In case of attacking land Targets yes. But when attacking naval vessels you will need both, naval and air strength.

  18. Hi guys, just installed my favorite game SC GC GOLD on my new PC. First it starts pretty good but with the first screen I got an error. Directx failed: dderr_exeption No real crash but I could not start over and play. Any ideas are pretty welcome. Amadeus
  19. On Panzerliga a member have a problem to start the game with 1.05. The game is running without problems with 1.03. After installing 1.05 it won't launch anymore.

  21. Playing the big Brute Force Map and we are near to the end. Now I have this issue. Any ideas?
  22. Some news, Russians are stronger now and any weakness will be strike back in this campaign.
