  1. No, Michael, those are the scots. These guys are finns. "Surströmming?" - that´s what will make me wash my imagination with soap.
  2. Well, now I´ve uninstalled CCC, removed the remaining ATI-files with Driver Sweeper and then reinstalled CCC. And as far as I can see in OpenGL Extensions Viewer... ...nothing has changed at all :-( @ schrullenhaft: I did as you suggested and established that the file was indeed the version CCC said it was, not the one the OpenGL Viewer claimed. So I then tried your next suggestion and pasted this into the run box: regsvr32 "C:\Windows\System32\atioglxx.dll" I was told that "C:\Windows\System32\atioglxx.dll was read (written?), but the entry point dllRegisterServer wasn´t found. This file cannot be registered" (my own translation, I´m a bit unsure how to translate some of these tecnical terms)
  3. Well, I wasn´t aware that there is a specific order to install the drivers in. I think, I must have installed the graphics card drivers first - and DirectX when I installed the first game; CM1. I hadn´t installed the CM2 demo before the crash, I sort of DL´ed the demo to see if my new card - and PC in general - would be able to run CM2, when Normandy is released. @ Schrullenhaft. You write: "I don't know if the following will help or hurt, but you can try this out to see if it does anything. Type the following in the Run command: regsvr32 "C:\Windows\System32\atioglxx.dll" This will hopefully manually register the DLL file and MAYBE the system will find it." I´d like to give it at try, but I´m not entirely comfortable with that "I don't know if the following will help or hurt"-bit. What could happen? Thanks again
  4. Hi Scrullenhaft CCC is version 09.11 and CCC says that my OpenGL version is 6.14.10.9116, not 6.14.10.7018 as "openGL extension viewer" tells me. Don´t know if that means anything? BTW just to make sure: card is a HD 4350 (don´t know if "4850" was just a typo). "Renderer info" says: Vendor: Microsoft corporation Renderer: GDI generic Version: 1.1.0 Memory:1024 MB Do you have any idea how well card like mine will fare with CMx2, especially Normandy? The vendor told me it was way too weak for gaming, and I would have followed his advice and bought a more powerful card - if my PSU had been capable of supplying the required power. Thanks again
  5. Thanks again, Pandur I´ve run openGL extension viewer and it says that my version is 1.1, the driver version 6.14.10.7018. When I click "see details" it tells me under "core features" that 1.1 is supported, 1.2 is partly supported, and everytning above that is not supported. Does that mean that my graphics card simply doesn´t support OpenGL 2.0? If yes, has anyone got any recommendation for which card I should buy to run CMx2 (preferably nothing too fancy and expensive)? Cheers
  6. Thanks for the help Pandur. I ran the dxdiag, I´ll PM it to you. Cheers
  7. Hi pandur No, I wouldn´t mind posting a DxDiag. It´s just that I haven´t got the faintest idea what it is - nor how to make one. Could you please enlighten me? Cheers
  8. Speaking of "full" and "extreme" FOW - and "tree coverage" for that matter; Can anyone explain to me the meaning of "extreme"? I should think "full" means 100 % which I would translate to "realistic conditions". So what´s "extreme" supposed to simulate: Going into battle blindfolded?
  9. Thanks for the reply, Schrullenhaft. I´ve got one more question, though - just to be sure: You see, my brand new graphics card was installed simultaneously with me formatting my hard drive and reinstalling windows from scratch (my PC had crashed because of an error in the old graphics card). Now, here´s the question: As I formatted my hard drive when I installed the card, I should think there wouldn´t be any "driver bits" left over from the old card on the PC. Wouldn´t a "clean up" and a new install of the driver then be futile? Cheers
  10. Well, I ´ve got a very similar problem - but with a different graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4350. I get the message to upgrade to OpenGL 2.0, but how do I do that other than updating my driver? CCC says that my OpenGL version is: 6.14.10.9116 My graphics card is brand new and I updated the driver to the latest version yesterday. Should mention that I´m using Windows XP Home and it´s the demo version I´m trying to play. I downloaded it yesterday to test how well it would play on my PC - in order to be prepared for CM-Normandy.
  11. Just note that ROQC doesn´t work with Open Office. It seems you have to use MS Office. Or: Has anyone heard of any freeware program that runs ROQC?
  12. I took up Rob´s campaign about a year ago - and had exactly the same problem. So I wrote him and he told me that you can´t use it with "Open Office" - something to do with the macros. So I DL´ed MS office - and it worked. This was as I said one year ago - something might have changed since then. My trial period for office has run out now - so I haven´t played since. If it´s possible to use it with OO now it would be great. cheers
  13. That´s not entirely true, Corvidae: Yes, Germany aquired a large chunk of Denmark in the war in 1864. And because of that many danes were forced to fight for germany in WW I. But about half of this land returned to Denmark after a plebicide in 1920. And I don´t think the remaining part can account for the seemingly large number of danish names in CM. Danish and german are not very closely related, danish is in many ways closer to english. Especially, the grammar of danish and german differs quite a lot. And most danes - like myself - speak german very poorly or not at all.
  14. Here´s a question, I´ve often been asking myself, when playing CMBB and CMAK. I´ve been searching the threads here for an answer, but haven´t been able to find one. So now I´ll try asking here: How has the names of the units in CM been generated? Have they been chosen from a list of for instance the most common german surnames in the forties - or has the method been more random? The reason I ask is that being a dane it seems to me that quite disproportionately large amount of the german soldiers bear danish surnames. Hansen and Andersen, for instance. I am well aware that there - unfortunately - were a couple of thousand danes serving as volunteers for the axis - mostly in waffen SS, as far as I am aware. But not in any numbers that should warrant danish names showing up in the german ranks in CM, I should think. It´s not that I´m griping or anything like that, I´m just curious and hope that someone at BF or this forum can provide me with an answer.
  15. Hey, this sounds like fun. Guess I better play this scenario soon :-)
  16. Well I also thought that was odd, so to test it I just typed "scenarios CMBB" in google - and the two sites mentioned above were the first two on the list.
  17. You can find other user made ops at: http://www.the-proving-grounds.com/ (for scenarios that need a bit more testing) and http://www.the-scenario-depot.com/ (for scenarios that has been tested) But not many of them will be of the quality that blowtorch makes Cheers
  18. Hi GaJ For the last three months I´ve been trying several times to join the site - but to no avail. I keep getting this message, when I try to register: "We're sorry, but something went wrong. We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly. (If you're the administrator of this website, then please read the log file "production.log" to find out what went wrong.)"
  19. I would assume that "Gun damaged" could also cover optics being knocked out. Just as "immobilized" covers both permanent bogging and damaged tracks. Just a guess. Cheers
  20. Well, as I don´t live in Copenhagen anymore, I´m not sure what kind of fancy drinks are in fashion there at the moment. But beer will never go out of fashion, I guess. :-) Danish beer is quite good, I think. But not as good as the czech or german stuff. Please send me a PM if you want to play a game. I´ve only recently taken up H2H games and have yet to try TCP - but I´d like to give it a shot. Cheers Umlaut
  21. Hi Harry I´m from Denmark. But apart from me, there´s only one active CM-player in Denmark, that I´m aware of (from this forum). His nick is "LuderBamsen". RobO. who made the brilliant spread sheet campaign system is from Denmark too, but as far as I know, he doesn´t play CM anymore. So I wouldn´t exactly say there´s lots of action around here. What did you have in mind? Cheers Umlaut
  22. Sure, I will. It´s a little complicated to jut down, though, so I won´t have the time to send you the details right now. Will post it here in a couple of days. My modding is based on the how-to tutorial at Gautrek´s homepage, so you might as well start by looking at that - if you don´t know it already. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gautrek/howto/basic/basic.htm Just bear in mind, that if you´re using PhotoShop - as I do - you can´t use all of the tutorial, as the tutorial is written for something called "PSP 5" (whatever that is). And there ARE differences. But I´ll get back to that, when I write later. Cheers
  23. This time it´s MikeyDs Pz IIIH
  24. Thanks a lot for clearing that up, guys. I had already suspected that the yellow colors were indeed for camouflage purposes, but I´d never imagined that the grey served the same purpose. Thanks.
