  1. July 28 Axis tanks adjacent to Madrid, USA jumps to 62%, lend lease started, Pacific fleet transferred to Atlantic. Allied navy bombards (with quite some success) axis units in Spain. Spanish Tangier corps walks towards Casablanca - italian reinforcements arrive to protect the sub pen there Hungary jump 9%, next turn they are in - finally I can use those minors at something Some naval movements from east to west ,in the Med, during Colin's turn - don't know exactly which unit moved where though. 2 RN BBs fail to bombard a german army near Tobruk (germans camped near Tobruk and began upgrading their troops IW2 AT2).
  2. Correction - Axis took algeria, uk bomber hits tobruk port During my turn: Axis indeed got Vichy Lend Lease begins. Sub was damaged near Casablance but did some serious damage back to a RN BB. Sub retreated to Casablanca
  3. Industrial Technology - you have to consider if it is worth to invest in it or not. Ind Tech modifier applies only to ***national*** resources and NOT to conquered ones. For example Germany would have its IT modifier applied to their default cities and mines and not applied to anything else they conquer - here it wouldn;t be a wise choice to waste mpps to invest in IT since their *national* resource base is pretty low. For Russia, IT may be a wise choice since their default national resources are far superior to germany's. For USA it is almost imperative Production Technology - the discounts obtained via PT tech levels apply only to the base cost of the units. The upgrades (infantry tech, anti tank, tank tech, etc) are not discounted - thus investing in PT usually comes second (if you already have high combat techs discovered) Infrastructure - frankly I never bother with this one - it may be interesting for very long games, I don;t know.
  4. Von Bock's Panzerarmee Afrika (we no tanks down there but it's a cool name nonetheless) continue west - terrified arab inhabitants witness the victorious german troops goosestepping near the mosque in Algiers... Romania says 'I wanna be your biatch' - waiting for Hungary to say the same line so I can use those minors as garrisons... The rest of the world enjoys a dangerous calm...not for long... Turn sent, waiting for Colin to come back from Italy to continue.
  5. Yeah, Adolf ordered the creation of the Afrika Corps under von Bock - first incursions on african soil resulted in annexation of Tunisia; RAF bomber spotted in Malta - Axis consider the possibility that the UK will not give up their african foothold without a fight. Romania shifts again , 7% this time, their joining % being over 90 -> they are mine Waiting for Hungary (85%) ... Massive german investments in research start to pay off.
  6. Colin, I did not receive your turn. Last mail I got from you contains hellcolin06.rar Please resend it to cosminerul@yahoo.com
  7. Not really. The allied player can expect such outcome if he doesn't occupy certain tiles from the first 2 turns. Early abandon of the M line is not necessary as well. If the allied players wants France in the game till spring, of course. But an early fall of France has some positive aspects from the allies as well - USA readiness jumps, so MPP wise, the differential is not so high in Axis' favour. Nevertheless, if you ask me, I preffer to get France in 39 than in 40 - no for the cash but for a better timetable What is clearly improved over SC1 is the importance of the french campaign - in SC1 was extremely important (you could lose games there) but in SC2 it has no significant importance in the long run. The war is neither won nor lost in France.
  8. Indeed Novemeber 39: Clear weather for Axis: 3 AFs, 2 armies, 1 tank , 1 corps attack - the result: Paris falls, France surrenders. Italy joins Axis.
  9. Yup, they do indeed... Turn 3 Axis units already have 3 tiles surrounding Paris. The City of Light itself defended by an army, their armoured unit was upgraded and retreated behind the river. Also, the M line has collapsed, french defenders retreating 2 tiles back. Axis airfleets operated nearby, if we get clear weather, Paris has high chances to fall next turn. Judgind from the disposition of the french army, Colin did not expect such a quick thrust towards Paris. Poland falls, Runstedt and some other pieces operated west. Mud sets in, hopefully the weather will be clear during my turn. Romania shifts towards axis by 8%, Italy gearing up for war due to axis units near Paris and allied abandoning some Med positions (I spotted the tunisian french corps near Paris). UK receives their desert armour group due to Axis being adjacent to Paris.
  10. Ok guys and gals, the final game has started! Turn 1 Axis push into Poland, troops operated west for LC/Denmark turn 2 invasion; sub raiding. Colin do some damage to the armour in poland and try to bring more troops towards Warsaw. Turn 2 LC and Denmark join the Axis big happy family; Warsaw has 3 Axis units adjacent.
  11. darn...ok, choose your side then...if you pick axis, send your turn to cosminerul@yahoo.com if you pick allies, post here and tell me your email as well
  12. Let's pick a week end and play the final game TCP/IP is the way to go for the last game of the tournament
  13. perhaps...otoh, spending that time behind the IC gave me a different meaning of 'freedom' after the curtain went down
  14. "Nice to see that Rambo still thinks of me though, as it is nice being held to a position of such importance." I guess it's better to be talked bad about than ignored
  15. perhaps engineers can build roads/rails so the player can have a different transport route than the default one which will be subject to massibe bombings? Took a look at the west european map - if allies level Paris (rail node) via SBs, can they interdict operating units to the other french cities near Atlantic?
  16. I haven't played sc2 in quite a long time now...new stars rising, i like that @Jolly -> perhaps we can find some time to play a game? You're not as good as Yoda, yet...you do mistakes, I do mistakes...games between ppl who do mistakes from time to time, should be fun
  17. dunno if it is cruel or not but sure it is unhelpful and it did not happen this way back then...they were able to call in supply trucks or travel a few miles back to resupply...and definitely could change a broken wheel or a tank track
  18. wow, lots of creative suggestions in your replies guys...if you're not interested in this topic or the matter has been discussed before, you'd better ignore it
  19. Destructive power is not necessarily out of whack - rocket effectiveness decreases with the range. But if they are trained and use from, say, 2 tiles away...well, yes they hit hard
