  1. Not too happy. It seems way too narrow to be interesting for very long. If they had to go modern I'd have vastly preferred Korea or hypothetical WW3 scenarios; Warsaw Pact vs Nato. The Arab Isreali wars would have been a little more interesting since they span several generations of weapon systems. *shrugs* I doubt I'll bother with this first title and wait for the WW2 stuff or more interesting [to me] modern settings. Still, can't blame Battlefront for trying something differnt, even if it's not to my personnal tastes. I'm sure with the way the market is, people will eat this up.
  2. Anarchy Online, CMBB, CMAK, Ralroad Tycoon 3, and the aformentioned IL2+ explansions. Pirates! and Silent Hunter III also get honorable mention.
  3. I still play though I've yet to play anyone beyond the computer.
  4. I've had my own planes wipe out two of my own squads and a tank......
  5. Maybe there was more than one squad? Or maybe he snuck an extra one in on the same turn you entered?
  6. Finally got around to playing this. I liked it better than v2. I managed a tactical victory 67% to 33%. The increased map size really helped as I was able to get my guns forward without getting shot to pieces before getting there this time. *** Spoiler*** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The captured PzIV's were a nice touch. I thought they must have been misidentified T-34 for the longest time so played real gingerly around them. Without the airstrikes on target though I think I would have gotten massagred. Two of them went in just perfect and just when I needed them. Still, I would like a bit clearer of Order of battle. It's pretty slim and I think you should at least have an idea of what sort of equipment is in the area, if not the exact numbers you'll be receiving or when. All around I give it 4 out of 5.
  7. I've noticed that night battles seem particularily bloody becuase the defenders open up at very close range.
  8. My eyes are kinda sensitive to light...a regular vampire here I guess. :oP
  9. Still not had a chance to play this one yet "DEY-No Goulash For Ivan-V3". I did play another one though also set in winter, forget the name of it but it has the Germans assaulting some town in winter time. I didn't care for that one as much as the Hungarian ones. I don't like winter scenarios as much I guess. The white kinda hurts my eyes. I have noticed a trend with your scenarios though. You like to give continuous reinforcments throughout the scenario. Perhaps change your design a bit though. People will see it's a DEY scenario and start to anticpate a steady stream of reinforcements.
  10. If you think those are fun, try a SturmTiger! I was playing one scenario which name I forget but the Sturmtiger killed like 3 JS-2, one of them with a near miss and about 200 infantry. Was real interesting. Was the first time I ever tried one of those.
  11. I've downloaded it but not had a chance to play it yet. I'll give you some feedback when I get a chance to try it out.
  12. I heard that this unit was lubricating thier M-16s with oil. A sure magnet for sand in the desert which caused all the jams. I was trained to not use lube oil in desert environments for that very reason. *shrugs*
  13. A possible improvement to you briefings would be to give a vague reference to reinforcements without being specific. Like saying "some light and medium tanks are on the way, though with the heavy air attacks in this sector they might be delayed or destroyed en-route"
  14. Played another of your scenarios:Hungary Pains. Another very intense scenario. I enojoyed it a lot. The lack of a comprehensive order of battle in the discription added to the tension. It looks near hopeless at first with those crappy Hotchkiss tanks.
  15. BTW, "No Goulash for Ivan - V2" was the first of yours I played. Yours seem to be longer than I like but I have downloaded like 3 others that are in my que to play.
  16. Ah yes, that is true about the AI and the guns. When I played it, they got knocked out before killing anything as I recall so they didn't figure into it as much.
  17. I played the earlier versian as the Hungarians. What a bloody mess that was but I managed a minor victory out of it. Sure was a lot of destroyed tin-can tanks (I love battles featuring crappy tanks)! Was a real nail biter. Maybe I'll try the updated one as the Soviets.
  18. "Hitler's Greatest Defeat: The Collapse of Army Group Centre, June 1944" by Paul Adair isn't too bad though a bit on the short side. ISBN 1-85409-232-4 [ June 15, 2005, 05:53 AM: Message edited by: Vixen ]
  19. Hey, at least your early model Panthers don't have thier engines burst into flames....
  20. There is a certain kind of S & M involved with those junkie early war tanks. I love it!
