  1. Do "damaged" untis count for any points? IE a full strength infantry squad that gets reduced to 1 or 2 people?
  2. I've only rarely got attacked by my own planes. This is particularily true in medium-large map games or if the air support comes in early. All bets are off when you start mixing in with the enemy though.
  3. Depends on the time period really. Early war against thin skin armor the 37mm fires fast and can take out opponets pretty quick. I'd might take a mix of 37mm AT, 75mm IG, and maybe a 50mm AT. Later war I'd ditch the 37mm and 75mm IG unless close terrain. The 50mm AT gun can take out T34s & Shermans fairly effectivly in the flanks through-out the war. So, late war Id switch to 50mm AT and 75mm AT. Also remember that mid-late war German infantry usually has a few panzerfausts for close in work. That will be a big bonus to any AT defence....if you can get the enemy tanks in range. Can be a bit hard to do in open terrain. [ August 27, 2004, 09:07 AM: Message edited by: Vixen ]
  4. I've used the 75mm IG to very good effect againt thin skinned armor but not so much against heavier stuff. Often I get very few HC shells as was stated by another poster. I agree it's a good choice for early to early-mid war for AT purposes but later in the war it just doesn't seem to cut through the heavier armor in my experience. Granted, I've only been playing a couple of months though..
  5. Something is better than nothing I suppose. I understand Italy fielded AT guns with no sheild at all.
  6. Wirbelwind....it's just plain sexy. But really I suppose the "best" would be the Sherman or T-34. Individually they might not have been great, but becuase of the ease of manufacture and general standardization, they didn't create the logistical nightmare that other vehicles produced. Anything built in such numbers that performed acceptably has to be given high marks I think. Quantity has a quality all it's own. Of course if your talking about a one on one fight with no production, logistical, or any factors other than pure combat performance I'd choose the Panther.....Whirbelwind still sexier though!
