Howdy folks. I used to play battle front alot. Then I got into the first person shooters like Joint ops and battle field 1 and 2. Any way it's been a long time since I've played Battle Front. And I was wondering if many people still played, and if their was still a battle front community out there to find opponents. I always thought Battle Front was the best game of it's type. I enjoyed many email games when I played last maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I'm not sure how long it's been. Also I've been wondering what changes there have been in the game. It's been so long I really don't remember how to play I will have to play single player for a while to get back into the swing of it. In fact I just hope I can find the disk to get the game started. So anyway can you folks update me on what's new? I have version 1.02

I know this sounds nuts, but it is true. I hate to admit it but I sometimes play other games. (Kinda like getting caught looking at a porn site.) Last night between pbem turns I decided to try a little unreal tournament. I bought this a while ago but have never been able to get it to run on my computer without a total lockup after a few minutes. I accidently left combat mission running in the background as I ran unreal and for the first time unreal ran flawlessly. (I have previously tried everything I could think of to get it to run.) once I realized that combat mission was still running I experimented with it and found that unreal would only run without lockups if combat mision was running at the same time. Not only that but it would run at top speed, in any video mode, open gl,glide, ect, and also at high resolution with all the extras. So aparently CM is not only the best war game I ever played it is also a magical utility, some kind of snake oil for ailing computers. I know it's nuts, but I swear it's true. If somebody could explain it to me, I'd sure like to know how it could happen. I know this is way off topic and I apologize. I haven't visited the forum in months and now I've posted 3 times in one day. Don't kick me off I promise I'll behave after this outburst, but I had to tell somebody and my wife already wants to have me put away. jrsmith@ptd.net

It seems to me that using large amounts of AA deployed as anti personel is unrealistic and gamey. What does everyone else think? I did searches on this topic and my other post but I came up with nothing. thanks

I got George Washington, not bad company huh? Did you see the link there to firsthand accounts of the revelutionary war? They have some excerpts from the Diary of Ebenezer Denny. Very interesting. At one point he says they marched to within 60 yards of the British before opening fire. Very interesting read.

I think most of the players who do that are kids. The same kind who use game sharks on their nintendos. One of the things I like about CM is you mainly tend to get older players, people who can enjoy a well played game, win or lose. Many younger people today can only get excited by instant gratification as soon as they see that they can't overrun an opponent in 5 minutes they lose interest. Luckily most of them are not attracted to a game like CM in the first place.

Has this ever happened to you. I was just making the first few moves of a pbem game, playing the Germans. My one heavey armored car kept moveing on it's own for no reason. It would follow my orders but them move out into the middle of an open field, and sit there. I moved it back behind cover and as soon as it completed the move it turned around and again moved to the middle of the open ground with out orders. It was not under attack, morale was fine, but it kept moveing to wide open flat ground, making itself a sitting duck. Sure enough the duck got shot. How come? I don't mind paying for my mistakes, but it's really disapointing to have the computer make them for me. I guess it's realistic to once in a while have a tank commander who's a suicidel idiot, but it's not much fun. ANy ideas why this happened and how it could be avoided in the future?

I haven't been playing too long. I did a search on this question, but did not find anything. Will a unit that has only AP rounds left fire on infantry? Will they fire at buildings? If so, how much effect will AP rounds have on them? Thanks
