WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Retributar replied to carverrt's topic in Strategic Command 2 Scenario and Mods Forum
It just takes 'Time' to 1st try out the more obvious Mod-Creation's...so as...to test out and see how well the creator's effort work's out for playability in the game, then with confidence, and previous know-how...we will slowly divert to Specific-Specialization's that RobertC so ardently cries out for!. -

Pacific Theatre WW2 new mod
Retributar replied to SidiusPOA's topic in Strategic Command 2 Scenario and Mods Forum
Excellent Work SidiusPOA , i would only make a point on the 'Kamikaze Aircraft', that it be made more obvious that it is in-fact on fire!. EG:, Add some Black-Smoke to the picture if you can, to highlight that it is now in 'Crash & Burn' mode. -
Leedsunited40!: Without knowing exact specific's, your intuition is probably the answer to your question!. 'I cannot get into Norway directly unless I first jump into Denmark', ...yes, your Aircraft Technology must be up higher in order for you to jump further, so if your just starting the game, obviously your Aircraft Tech is low, so therefore your 'Paratroopers' will not be able to jump very far!. Lastly...then, yes ...you will need to take Denmark first, then you will be able to jump to Norway from there!.

The Calm & The Storm
Retributar replied to R.J.'s topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
I agree, JJColorado , 'a lot of detail', i only did up to step 3 of the tutorial, so i can't give any definitive verdict on it, but it look's like it just may have some promise to it!. So far SC2 to this point anyway, i think is a more relaxing game!. I like 'Relaxing',...but that's not to say that the 'MAKING-HISTORY' game is out of the picture for me. It's got some feature's to it that i do like. -
Waterloo 1815 - soon ready
Retributar replied to Kuniworth's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Kuniworth...what you are stating makes sense to me at this point!. Off-hand i have no critique!. One feature that i would like to see in SC2 is to be able to include both the 'Main Campaign' as well as to be able to switch-over to do 'local Specific Contests'. In this case, for example, one could '1st' prosecute the campaign on a larger main map of NE France and Belgium. Then,...if one wanted, to do a full-scale zoomed-in enactment such as the 'Battle of Ligny'. An option button would be available to then access that specific town and the unit's in it. So now instead of doing the contest on the main map, all the forces presently in Ligny or converging into it would now be represented in a blown up map of the local area!. Unit's not yet currently at 'Ligny' would not at first be represented in that particular confrontation, but as the hour's tick by, and as they move into 'Ligny', they would now be available for the player's use!. As historically happened, there were battle's along the way to Waterloo, such as Ligny and i can't remember the rest, before the forces converged in Belgium for the final contest. Of course this feature is not available for SC2, but i wished it was. One could then play the Main-Map, when the Main-Map Movement's and Combat's are concluded, then one could at their discretion, go to a specific Town battle or what-ever and play that next...or just do it on the Main-Map if a qicker battle resolution is desired!. As the hour's tick by, the player would be/could be alternately playing both Map's as required or desired. -

Waterloo 1815 - soon ready
Retributar replied to Kuniworth's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Agreed!,... 'JerseyJohn' . I think that,...that is exactly how it should be done...for the best effect and flavour of the Campaign!. Meaning to use NE France, and division's instead of Brigade/Battalion sized unit's. By the same token, whynot have both?. I would personally like the entire campaign which led up to the 'Battle of Waterloo', as well as 'The Battle of Waterloo' itself!. As far as 'Mud', well even during the 'Battle of Waterloo', after the previous night's downpour, the ground was drying all morning until around 'Noon', the ground was finally dry-enough to manuever the Napoleonic Cannon's, so that the barrage could begin. Minor Fall WeiB script suggestions HC

Moonslayer!... 'By Jove, i think you've got it!' . You have my vote on your idea!, as far as im concerned it should be incorporated into the next patch!. -
Keep those idea's rolling, and we need to start implementing a few more of them!. Do we want the best game we can ever have?, isnt that what we want here?. There's been a truck-load of idea's at this forum, so then more of them as can be, need to be tried out!. We want this game to stand in the 'Hall of Fame!, for it's own vindication and our own satisfaction!.'.

Fleets blockading canals
Retributar replied to Bromley's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Not only that!, but also because that there is no room to maneuver, these ship's in the Canal, would be easy prey for attacking bomber's!. So now the question is, how could that circumstance be implemented into the game?. -

http://www.battlefront.com/elicense_faq.html If i was in your situation 'MullinsR' ,...my 1st step would be to do as you just stated... "Contact the elicense website." When your game is started again, write all necessary information into the inside book cover of your manual, so that it will be at your fingertip's the next time your in this situation!.

A good rule of thumb to remember is... "Be Dead Sure or Be Dead!". -
I have a sizeable 'Cache' of stored images [Not all are of usable grade],and some link's to access some of those images, so in the near future, i would be willing to E-Mail them to whom-ever!. These images will still need to be converted into usable 'BitMaps'. I also have link's in this discussion forum to all the 'War of the Rings' images that i so slavishly gathered in order to entice someone to make a game on that Tolkien story!, but...alas...no interest in that yet!.

Beer & pretzels? Might be worth a try . ...I'll 'Buy That!'. I wanna be a 'Cowboy!.' I wanna step in cow-dung!. I wanna have some sick-fun!, playin with my 6-Gun!. I wanna ride the 'high-range'...looking 'very-strange!' ---Addendum: "Looking VERY-STRANGE!!!...indeed!". It look's like this game will use many of the Physical/Graphic features that SC2 is now using???. Of course, that is just my '1st' impression!. And if that impression is at all correct???, then perhap's 'Hubert Cater' is making an impression in the professional gaming community???. Now!, who want's to call me a deluded liar?. invasion hexes
Retributar replied to arado234's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
I initially have to agree with arado234 's suggestion to have only feasably invadable beaches for invasion purpose's, however at this point,...primarily because of the current map-scale, as n0kn0k suggested. the so-said beache's could be very easily blocked, as well,...the current scale probably just wouldn't allow for that game change to work out game-play-wise!. -
Im no final authority on Naval Bombardment, nor Air Bombardment, but in my studies of WW2 i have noticed that very-usually these massive bombarment's are largely ineffective or marginally effective!. There are situation's, such as the 'Falaise-Gap', where in this instance 'Air-Bombardment', seem to finally do the job that it was intended too!. Perhap's the crowd here can show 'many more' example's of effective Naval & Air Bombardment to throw 'Mud' in my face!.
