  1. Answer 1. QUOTE]Originally posted by Battlefront.com: Yes, as I've been saying for a few years now we will never, ever, in a billion years make another single game with the same scope as any of the CMx1 games. So the first of the WW2 games (the "Title" release) will be limited to US vs. German forces in the Normandy area. Additions to the game ("Modules") will expand upon the original forces. Current planned 1st Module will focus on Commonwealth forces, though with a healthy dose of additional German forces and a smattering of more US stuff. Modules after that will expand the forces further to include most of everything that happened during the Summer and Fall of 1944. We will not be making the Bulge a "Module" because it requires an effort equal to the initial Normandy Title because of the weather, terrain, and unit changes that makeup that campaign (and later into the Spring). Some may find this news to them, but it's nothing that couldn't be found on this Forum somewhere from some prior post of mine. Steve
  2. Hello Can we get an idea of when we might be seeing the new USMC webpage?
  3. I asked about July 27th too. Moon said they are working on a Web Page. We'll know when that's done I suppose.
  4. There is a danger of splintering the community too much by the availability of "mini mods" if you want to call them that. Think about the problems it could cause Multi-player and scenario design.
  5. They don't as far as I know, but the Brits vehicles would already be done in the previous module. Combine British and German and US equipment and you have almost evrything the Dutch and Canadians use.
  6. Once you add the Germans and you already have British vehicles you get the Dutch and Canadians cheaply, the word from Battlefront was at least. I don't know if the same applies to the Australians.
  7. But it won't. They'd still be in Syria. To add say, Serbia boils over, or Nato in Georgia, or the invasion of Belarus you'd need a whole new game, hence my question.
  8. The USMC is coming soon and the Brits are a sure thing, but after that would you rather have the proposed 3rd module with Germans/Dutch/Canadians or a whole new Modern setting game such as a new Korean War for example? P.S. WWII votes don't count as we're getting that already. P.P.S. You can't vote NATO vs Warsaw Pact either or Arab/Israeli as Steve has said they'd never do it. 9. Oh, my glorious Gavin. I can't wait! </font>
  10. Puppies don't bother Steve. Threaten to steal his Weasel. Or maybe soil his camo collection.
  11. So can we expect the Marines before July 27th 2008, the one year annivesary of CMSF's release or is the official answer "We're not ready to make a statement yet"?
  12. IIRC it's easier to add the vehicle to the engine but the 3-d modeling takes longer and is more difficult. Steve said he did many CMBO models but couldn't touch a cmx-2 model.
  13. That's a Scorpion isn't it? Do they still use them?
  14. Okay I'll play Devil's (aka Steve's ) advocate. Is he right in that they are only used by some headquarters and support units which, as he says, CMSF does not intend to simulate? Personally I think they'd be a good addition. I'd like to see the Army with some trucks too, but resources are limited and he's the guy you have to convince. Edit: Hadn't seen M1's post when I posted. M1 do you know what kind of unit that is exactly? [ May 09, 2008, 12:39 PM: Message edited by: Sequoia ]
  15. Copied this from a post Steve made May 1st. If you want the M113 you'll have to convince him. No. There is no support for on-map mortars so that would have to be added first. The good coms of US units means the chances of mortar assets being on-map would be accidental rather than purposeful. No. It's not fielded yet and the guesses as to when it will be are (last I checked) still uncertain. No. It's used in a support role for some HQs only, and generally even those are not within CM's scope. Other uses outside of HQs is not within CM's scope. Same answer as the MC. As far as I know the Syrians do not have this. They have the older ZSU-23, though. Still, this would be nice to add in the near future. We have no specific plans for it though. We will likely add Soviet era air power at some point, probably will add when we get to the point of adding more-or-less pure fantasy stuff into the game. Steve </font>
  16. Okay then, since my first guess was shot down like a recruit against the Red Baron, my new guess for the surprise is the Infantry Brigade Combat Team TO&E will be mad available to everyone in a patch. (Still too radical?)
  17. Who can say? I just picked up Europa Universalis III at the store for $10. At Paradox's Gamers Gate site, the year old $20 dollar Napoleon's Ambition expansion is the number one seller surpassing the month old new game EU Rome. Paradox is planning another $20 expansion to Europa Universalis III next month. Also a $15 expansion to the 4 and a half year old Crusader Kings which is also $10 or less if you can find it is still in the top ten.
  18. The Supacat! http://www.eliteukforces.info/special-air-service/mobility-troop/supacat/ Edit: I don't really expect to see this. [ May 08, 2008, 09:03 AM: Message edited by: Sequoia ]
  19. I'd still would like to see these someday. This list was taken from the original vehicle list on the blogfront. M1078 Standard Cargo Truck M1083 Standard Cargo Truck M978 Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) M985 Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT)
  20. Thats a good guess. Another might be this: Introduce a new Quick Battle system - It's been clear to us for quite some time that the existing system has some serious shortcomings in the eyes of many players. Therefore, a new QB system is a very high priority for the next major release. The primary improvements are some form of unit Cherry Picking system and semi-randomly generated maps. Think of this as a bridge between the good features of both CMx1 and CMx2 QB systems
  21. Pat Tillman, but both are more impressive than mine.
  22. I'd give you good odds on a bet that "the surprise" won't be that.
  23. Special Prince Harry unit which you get in a campaign until the Drudge Report leaks it.
  24. It's obviously not British but how about the T-80?
