  1. Hmmm, It probably the US Infantry Brigade Combat Team which Steve has been wanting to add for some time. But then again maybe they have added something else British then regular Army units. Para's perhaps?
  2. Supposedly the fictional invasion of Syria takes place in 2008 so the game wouldn't have them, though aren't there other late date chages that were added to the game?
  3. Oh there's interest but Battlefront has says they will do a whole new game of Modern combat in a temperant setting. Eveyone goes to war just because.
  4. He must mean in addition to the NATO module which Steve confirmed as consisting of the Germans, Canadians and Dutch. There was talk by Steve once of a possible French module but I think Moon is hinting at something red here. Oh well, like he says, we'll have to wait and see.
  5. I had no idea what the correct names for the units were. That was one of the things I was trying to find out.
  6. I didn't find this on the media page. I'm guessing we'll get a heavy Infantry Battallion an Armoured Battalion (or would it be a regiment?) and a recon unit of some sort plus artillery and air units. Anything else?
  7. Steve, how's the Weasel holding up? You know you'll have to include one in the Bulge game eventually just because.
  8. I posted something similar in the other thread. Copying here now: I remember in CMX 1 multi-player games some players would use a "Honor" system of play called Iron mode (not to be confused with the Iron mode available currently in CMSF ). They would agree to only use ground level views from behind thier units. Wouldn't an optional "extreme Iron" mode which locked this into play (i.e, no honor system required) effectively hide any foxholes or any other terrain not in LOS due to the way the graphics rendering works ? __________________
  9. Bannon, Steve temporarily locked the other thread on this subject until he could get back to addressing this when he had time. Let's not encourage others to resume the discussion in this thread.
  10. Sorry the plan is France 44 then Bulge and then East Front Bagration, though CMSF II modern combat in a temperate setting may sneak in there somplace too.

  12. Speaking of trucks, doesn't the British Army use MAN trucks these days? Had they of thrown those in it would have done double duty with the NATO module.
  13. Oh I don't deny they were used, just not very common. I'd rather see US army LMTV or MTV or a Syrian truck.
  14. They look cool but I can't imagine it being in combat. Trucks fall into the same category I suppose but they're at least common enough to have at least some of them get caught up in fighting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bv202
  15. I don't think so, Battlefront was doing a lot of source coding back then. Not so much now as the main focus of the base team has moved on to WWII. Still the Brits are being done by a new "farm team" and they may need to get their sea-legs under them.
  16. It should be in :/Combat Mission Shock Force/Mod Tools/Sample Mod Files/Version 200 Rename "background.wav" as "background day combat" (no quotes or .wav) and copy it into your z folder and you're set.
  17. Steve didn't want to say never ever, but the last word I read was they have no plans for doing a pre-20th century game is because horses would be such a pain.
  18. I can answer two of them for Battlefront. I'm pretty sure on map light/medium mortars (to 82mm) will be a yes. I'm 100% sure any horses will be a big no. Much too difficult to code and animate for what they contribute to WWII gameplay.
  19. See the thread below "Does MadMatts sound mod still work with Marines 1.11." It explains how to get it to work and he does have a file with no arty in the background that is already sitting on your P.C.
  20. Really, I didn't know that. My mistake. Maybe we will get a truck.
  21. I think the days of free new vehicles are over. My hunch for any surprise with the Brits will be the U.S. Infantry Brigade Combat Team. That might be free with a patch.
  22. Well at least they haven't given us a definite no. I asked if they might have any surprises for us and was told if they told us that it wouldn't be a surprise so I guess we'll have to wait and see at release time.
  23. Hey there's still a chance we'll see a French module in CMSF if module sales remain strong. Add Alizée and they'll have a sure thing. By the way is there room enough inside a tank to, well, you know.
  24. If we ever see Sweden, It'll be in the CMSF II temperate setting game.
