  1. Mikey, OK, you bastard, I'm home. I downloaded your Tiger treads, and quess what? I love them! You're a flagging genius. You bastard! DavidI
  2. Dorosh, I was a MP-40! Well, I got better. DavidI
  3. Awesome. Too many duplicates in the German one. DavidI
  4. One of the worse "alternate history" novels I have ever read, speculated just that: That Bobby Lee was given 20,000 AK-47s just prior to the Gettysburg Campaign! A total and complete waste of print. DavidI
  5. Mikey, Beautiful! Lovely! It's 7:45am on Monday morning - so where am I? Ehhhmmm? Hmmmm? That's right, you fiend, at the flag factory! So instead of downloading, installing and admiringing your work I'm busy berating an employee for putting 51 stars on the flag! Man! DavidI
  6. I'd rather have pale Indians than no Indians. DavidI
  7. Roqf77, If I order a squad, platoon or company to move down a road, it's because I want them to. I would be pissed if they all scattered into the trees. I think the game does a pretty good job of handling infantry movement. David
  8. Steve, Thank goodness. On a personal level, and I think for others, are modders going to have a chance to ply their art in CMX2? David
  9. Buq-Buq & Flamingknives, Yeah, that's a 222 and there was an 8 wheeled 232 (about 2/3 scale) and the Tiger did run spottily. We could see the smoke from his engines and avoid him. We (the Stuart) knocked him out twice, once with a top down shot, the other into the rear of his turrent from about 15' away. He probably didn't have to take either hit but he was a good sport... We got knocked out twice by the Tiger, once by the SPW 222 (rear shot close 6 20mm rounds) and three times by infantry action. Handgrenade in the turrent hatch, Tellermine on the rear deck, and the panzerfaust you mentioned in the side turrent (side turrent, penetrating hit, knocked out). My favorite - we disabled the SPW 251 and pulled up towards the rear end. Then, right in front of my periscope, the infantry came bailing out. I gave them about 30 30cal rounds and they went down in a heap. Great "hollywood" falls. I sported some wood on that one. Went over to their barracks when the day was over and thanked them. The turrent on the Stuart is a mockup. I think it started life as some sort of Kangaroo. DavidI
  10. Rommel, I'd take the US Marine Corps (for the same reason) but I would agree on the STG-44. Bitchin weapon to fire, either live or blank. Thank goodness the Germans didn't churn out millions of those in 43ish. I believe that the idea was for that to be the standard infantry weapon by late 45 early 46. DavidI
  11. Mace & Gpig, Good eye. The Tiger is built on a T-34/85 Chassis & Turrent. The scoop on this Tiger is that it was first put together as one of the Tigers for "Kelly's Heros" it was then used as the mobile Tiger in "Saving Private Ryan". In SPR they had an immobile Tiger for the close ups with the correct drive sprocket, driver's vision slit, etc. The owner has purchased a pair of T-55's, larger, center mounted turrent, in order to build a pair of Tigers. Ah the idle rich, what would we do without them. Mike Emrys: I had to get Folke to put it up on the site, don't know **** about how to caption it. I will point out that in the photo of the Sherman with the 3 reinactors and the Veteran, the old guy was a member of the 761st Tank Battalion a "Negro" Battalion that served with distinction in NW Europe. He loved to see those Shermans moving, and had a few stories to tell. The 761st is the subject of a recent book written by a basketball star, whose name eludes me, that has gotten some noterity. Oh yeah, and the pic of the Stuart with one guy standing by it - that's me, I was the bow gunner. DavidI
  12. Elmar, We are the chorus and we agree, we agree, we agree. DavidI
  13. Sequoia, They have a muesum there that is quite good, lot's o' American armor, T-34/85, etc. I know a guy that works in the museum (actually was instrumental in modernizing it) and if you drop me an email I'll introduce you, and you for sure can get in that way. Otherwise it depends on what threat level the gate is on. David I
  14. Enigma, There was a previous thread that addressed this. At that time I expressed my dismay that there weren't Indian units represented in the game. Their contributions were as great or greater than the French, Poles, South Africans, New Zealanders, etc. I got answers, but wasn't very satisfied. If they ever revisit this neck of the woods in CMX2 I hope they correct. Until then I use the Limeys, ah.... Brits. DavidI
  15. I like the quilted FJ for 1941 - 44, for the late war I use the non-quilted ones that I modded. Where would we all be without AndrewTF (The Great and Powerful)? DavidI ------------------ Insurance Companies move in mysterious ways. Like God, of course, but not as generous.
  16. I went to a WWII reinactment at Camp Roberts CA, a couple of weeks ago. There was quite a bit of armor there so I thought you guys would like to see some of the pictures I took: http://gallery.jemian.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=album01 Go to the above link. If you have any questions, ask away and I'll answer them if I can. My thanks to Folke who sponsored the URL posting (whatever that is). David I
  17. Do everthing you can to kill off all the PzIV's before you even think about the Tiger. Then surround his ass and pepper it with side and rear shots. Oh yeah, don't expect to win. DavidI
  18. Shadow and Glider, Thanks but I have sent them off to Folke. Let's see how he does, eh? David
  19. Have just posted two items at CMMODs- 1. Pz38 series white washed. The CMMOS disk I got with CMBB Special Edition left me with Pz38's with only the turrents white washed. I have noticed a number of posts in the forum complaining of the same problem. Since I got the complete, properly numbered BMP's from a kindly forum member I thought that I would put it up. I do not know the original artist, but if I find out I will immediately credit him. 2. Luftwaffe Field Division Early and Mid War Winterized. Although I only partially winterized them, I think they would be a good addition. All the original artwork is that of AndrewTF (The Great and Powerful). I mearly cut and past. Enjoy. DavidI
  20. Folke, That would be wonderful. I do not, however, see your email address listed. Please send me a hello email. I will be home in about two hours and will send pic's then. David
  21. I just got back from a WWII reinactment at Camp Roberts CA. There was alot of armor there. I was a crew member (bow gunner/radioman) in a Stuart. I got pic's of Shermans, the Tiger from Saving Private Ryan, SPW 222, 231 and 250/1, British 6 pounder, etc. I would love to post them but I canna ken the URL system. If I emailed someone the pic's would someone out there be willing to post? DavidI PS I should have posted this at CMAK, oh well.
  22. Here! Here! DavidI ------------- Insurance Companies move in mysterious ways. Like God, of course, but less generous.
  23. Junk, Good thinking! I knew I could count on you to find a way to undo this Gordian Knot! Life is so hectic here at the flag factory. The demand from protesters in the Middle East alone keeps us in a position where we are always behind! DavidI
