A new mod at Zimorodok's´place
David I replied to Gurra's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Gurra, I've seen pictures of fences like that, but with no date or location, so was just curious. I think they look totally cool and add a very Theater unique feeling. As to burning witches, I guess I just have to turn to the Medievel Total War modders to get what I want! DavidI -
I played that scenario as the Germans 4 times, ass-kicked on each occasion! Played it as the Russians four times, kicked ass on all four. You got that "Talk'scheap" 1% on your first go. Welcome to the community! You're in for alot of fun. DavidI

Gurra, Ah..hem...You should include the link to Zimorodok in your post. DavidI -
What phase of the battle is most vexing?
David I replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Tail end of a smallish scenario and the flag keeps shifting from my side to neutral. This is when I try to race some more lads to the objective only to have them gunned down since I foolishly had them Run. Finally the flag turns to my colors, the scenario ends and... the flag goes back to neutral and I get a draw instead of a victory. DavidI --------------------- "Life! Tell me about Life!" A new mod at Zimorodok's´place

Gurra, Those look great! They will definately be in my CMBB Game. I totally dig the straw roofs. Where did you get the idea for the wood fence? Where are the burning witches? DavidI -
Gurra or MikeyD, ETO treatment to the lowly Marder IIIM
David I replied to David I's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Gurra, Oh boy a guessing game! Ah let's see... no vehicles, not very needed, using a lot of wood... hmmmm...ah...I know! Burning witches! That's it, isn't it! DavidI -

Gurra or MikeyD, ETO treatment to the lowly Marder IIIM
David I replied to David I's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Gurra, Thanks. I will keep my eye on the forum. Any hints on your CMBB project? DavidI -
Dare I "bump" my own thread? Would I be considered some egomaniac asshole by the rest of the community? Wait a minute...the major contributers are egomaniacs! Bump. DavidI

Hey guys how about one of you doing the ETO treatment to the Marder IIIM? It is one of the most frequently run into vehicles and needs a little darkening up if it's going to survive in ETO! Not like your busy doing more romantic vehicles... but let's not forget one of the work horses. Beg, Beg, DavidI

Well I have to make a confession. In November of 2004 I released a mod of SS winter panzer crews. The main modification I made to Andrew TF's beautiful original was that I made the collar of the Panzer Wrap-around visable above the collar of the winter white cammo jacket. I just discovered, to my horror, that I posted my working model instead of my finished model. Collar was green with some of my dimensional doodling on it. Yuk! Sitting right next to my working mod was the finished mod, but I managed to post the wrong one. A corrected mod has been posted this day! I am sooooooo sorry. DavidI

Preserved Killick, You're right, hadn't noticed it before. My grass consultant (Junk2Drive) is out of town right now, but upon his return I'll try to figure out what to do. Hhmmm, a poser. DavidI

Gibsonm, Yep those are the guns, properly numbered now. CMMODs, CMAK, Country, Germans, Guns. Or CMMODs, CMAK, Author, DavidI, Guns. David

Rupert_2, Yes there are. They are available at CMMODs, on the CMBB side, under author "AndrewTF". DavidI

Decimation of the GD and others
David I replied to MPK's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Conan, It might suprise you to learn that there are/were Highland Regiments raised in almost all of the colonies settled by Britain. There are still Highland Regiments in South Africa, Australia, Canada and Great Britain. Both the North and the South raised Highland Regiments during the American Civil War. Their commonallities include: 1. Usually raised by and recruited from Scottish elements within that country (although not exclusively). 2. Kilted 3. Bagpipes 4. Usually, although not necessarily, with a link to one of the Scottish Highland Regiments. The way things are heading in Great Britain, Canada may have more Highland Regiments than Britain in the next few years. DavidI -
There is no such thing as "Blitzkrieg"
David I replied to Michael Dorosh's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
The Danzig Corridor was just that, a corridor! It allowed Poland her only access to the sea and international trade. Once given to her by treaty she was loath to let go of it. Furthermore Danzig was considered a "Free City", German Police, Polish Post Office (they probably got that one reversed) etc. German shipping and trains (allowed to pass through the corridor), telephone lines, etc, kept the communications between Germany and East Prussia clear. Hitler made a point of inflaming a situation that was working for both Poland and Germany rather well. He, if not his Generals, was hot to trot to make war on Poland when war, from a geopolitical/economic point, was unnecessary. He and the Nazis made a huge deal over what was working out to be a minor irritation all in the name of ideological purity. German Ground for Germans! Seig Heil! Oh and by the way the end results will be the division of ALL of Germany (and the perminate loss of East Prussia) for over three times longer than the Thousand Year Reich lasted. He wanted war and he got war. At the end he blamed the German people for not being strong enough for National Socialism! What an ass-hole. Just my humble opinion. DavidI -

David I replied to FGM_Smashing's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Look under Dey (or daffy - he uses both) for winterized mods. He does the best! Tarkus for a really cool interface. Undaunted for skies (do not pass this one up!) DavidI PS. MikeyD - don't you still owe us Grau early Pz III's (E,F,G & L) and IV's (C, E)! di -
PzMan, I'll be getting that tonight! Thanks, David

Kellysheros, Junk has got it on the nose, this is a CMAK based mod. There are alot of converted CMBO scenarios at the Scenario Depot and more every week. DavidI

In my attempt to bringing the late war Italian Front units up to snuff, I offer Late War Waffen SS Panzer Grenadiers: Options include Tropical tunic for the Company Commander, wool pants for the Company and Squad Leaders and tropical pants for the Squads/Crews. All of the original artwork is that of AndrewTF (The Great & Powerfull!), I mearly cut and paste. Enjoy, DavidI
