Any Interest in a CM Normandy Uber-Mod?
David I replied to David I's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
JonS & Aragorn2002, Nope no scenarios this time around. They are not mine, never were and I never claimed they were. Go to Scenario Depot and download all you want. Even when I say I am not including scenarios, because of what I learned doing CMETO, the discussion turns to scenarios. WTF? DavidI -
Any Interest in a CM Normandy Uber-Mod?
David I replied to David I's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Junk, I thought I did with CMETO! David -
As some of you know I am an incurable Mod-Slut, so this shouldn't be a surprise to you. I have enjoyed my CMETO creation for some months, however for the last few weeks I have been playing NWE scenarios set in June, July and August on what I call CM Normandy. That accounts for roughly half of the scenaios made for NWE. I am blessed to have a huge hard drive so I reinstalled CMAK and called it CMNormandy. It has all different buildings and grass that that gives the game yet another "whole new look". This is not a beach landing mod, but made for the fighting once the Allies were ashore. What I propose is to set up this new Uber-mod at the same site that I set CMETO up on. The changes from CMAK would include: Skies - by Undaunted Buildings - by Gurra (his shacks modified to look more Normandy which I have already done), Tanks-a-Lot (his small Normandy Buildings), Myself (2 medium buildings),and Juju (Sealion Medium Building and his Berlin buildings - good for any European city) Orignial BFC church. Grass - Tanks-a-Lot's CMBO grass Fences - Junk2Drive's wire fences Roads - Gurra's Dirt Roads City Streets - Windy City's There will be no scenario pack this time, (still scarred from the last time). If you got the one I included in CMETO about half of them are Normandy Battles. So what I would need to put this in motion are two very important things. 1. The approval of the above listed true artists. 2. Your (the CM community) interest. I look forward to your responses to this idea. DavidI

I have posted a German 50mm Pak 38 at CMMODs. It looks like this: My thanks to MikeyD for his excellent cammo pattern and AndrewTF for shading the gun barrel. Enjoy. David

**ALL Your U.S. Shermans are Now modded!!**
David I replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
MikeyD, Figured it out. What had me going is that there are two BMP's for the upper hull! A right side and a left. None o'dat kinda thing with the German Stuff! So when I viewed the tanks on screen the initial camera angle showed no star so I assumed the other side would be the same. Doh! DavidI -

Mikey, I seem to have the same problem as Junk with the decals for the M4A1 - 75 (now that I have it loaded properly). I have the decal folder, but when I put the decalled BMP's in they don't show up in game. Strange really. I will work some more on it when I get home. DavidI -
This is Gurra's excellent dirty winter PSW 250/8 and it looks like this: Well that completes the PSW 250 series, one more to go with the 251's. Where? CMMODS of course. Enjoy, DavidI

Why did my Soviet tankers retreat ?
David I replied to Jaska.'s topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
I think they retreated because they looked around and saw that they were surrounded by CMAK threads! DavidI -

MikeyD, Ran across these at CMMODs prior to your post, they look aimply awesome. This series has improved the look of the American forces by light years. Thank you again for all the hard work. Now go get them Limey tanks! Junk2Drive, My turn will be a little late this afternoon, got some downloading to do. DavidI -

ATG shields' thickness for all major forces?
David I replied to Zalgiris 1410's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Michael & Junk, Absolutely right, it's been ages since I had a Metric Project. I change my statement to "I doubt it's more than a 1/4" (7mm +-). " Either way 2" is straight out. DavidI -
ATG shields' thickness for all major forces?
David I replied to Zalgiris 1410's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Damn near 2" of steel on a 37mm gun shield, no way. I've got a friend that owns a 37mm door knocker, I'll give him a call and ask him to measure. I doubt it's more that 1/4" (14mm +-). DavidI -
*Grab the new M4 Sherman mid-production!*

Europa, Gotta get'm in close. PIATs saved my bacon in more than one game. 50 meters or less. Best used, of course, on the defense. David

MikeyD, Drop me a E-mail some time. I'd like to do a combined effort on some Normandy Buildings. DavidI
