  1. Green zooks are hardcoded and can't be changed. oooh i crack myself up. wah haha
  2. Looks like quite a challenge for the Commies. More mods on the way.
  3. Mord is correct if that is why you download the maps. If you intend to make a battle from a map, what I wrote will work. I dl to a separate folder just for maps and scenarios. (quick scan for virus) Then I copy to the game folder I want and save the original in a folder within the folder. AK BB BO I have six installs.
  4. Actually, even after reading the manual, you need to experiment with those hotkeys to see what they do. If you ever get the game out of whack, you can delete the pref file. When you start the game again, you will pick your resolution, and the game will be set to default hotkeys. OK EDIT to state: game will revert to default settings for hotkey items. Better? 5. @ The Warrior Welcome to CM. You will find many SP players here. Feel free to ask questions. Old SP habits are hard to break.
  6. Panthers make good T34/85's I hope. Mr noobie's and BFC's Soviet captured Panthers renumbered to CMAK Panther A D and G to represent Soviet T34's used by China and North Korea. At CMMODS
  7. Define map file. If you mean that you downloaded a map form somewhere, it will be the same as a battle or op file without any units on the map. In this case, copy or put the file into your scenarios folder for the game it is intended for. Then go into editor, click load and find the name of the map on the list of scenarios. Click that name and then click map. you should now be in the map editor screen. click the preview button to see the map. When finished, click go, then exit. It will ask if you want to save this file. If you didn't change anything, click no and nothing will happen to the original. Does this help?
  8. I have a theory about generational differences. Akula2 and I had a discussion about fixed or locked down placement of units in setup. He believes the player should always have the choice of where to place his units in setup. I can see a designer, after playtesting, deciding to lock units for balance of gameplay. I am in my 50s. I don't know about Akula2 and it doesn't matter. There is nothing wrong with his manner of playing or his preferences. My theory is that I grew up (sort of) with checkers, chess, and games with defined placement of pieces. Baseball allows some placement of players, but not total freedom. So I am use to being told, so to speak, where to start from. In fact it is more enjoyable sometimes, than fretting over what to do. Younger people raised on console games, may have a different outlook on what wargaming is. No right or wrong here, just different. How would these two types of players rate the same battle?
  9. I recommend Taki's website if you would like to learn more. The Japanese homeland defense arsenal was a scary thought for the Allied invasion planners.
  10. 1. Not without renumbering. 2. No damaged versions. 3. Some don't line up perfectly. But better than nothing
  11. Nasty weapons, nasty war. Hans, I had a email to you rejected.
  12. Mod info, loved the book, waiting for the movie. Just kidding.
  13. Who can mod the pallets on top of the sandbags?
  14. Can you buy the Mac and keep the old PC for games?
  15. juju is the expert at foxholes and sandbags.
  16. I will have to post the list of BB to AK and Grau BB to Late AK from my adventures into sealion and 1940 france. With winter numbers too.
  17. Thanks for the link Ypsilon. Would http://www.horae.dti.ne.jp/~fuwe1a/ be the home page?
  18. Or a snowy Soviet captured Panther to use as a Chinese T-34
  19. I've had good luck renumbering BO and BB mods. A pink here and there or a messed up small area on some but ok with me. I can post a list later today. alexoscar made some nice cmak ones. You could convince yourself that CMAK in Italy has no snow except in the mountains where you can't have armor.
  20. In addition I rename the original scenario folder, and have another one for scens I've played but want to keep, and another for new scens named scenarios. It keeps your start screen a little shorter. You don't have to arrow down through so many pages.
  21. Great, looking forward to it. i still think you should quit your jobs. It is cutting into your obscure question threads here.
