  1. Just had a look. Now, to get people to use it. Great sites!
  2. Thanks for the posts guys. I've been out of town playing Santa to my grandson. Basically I have all this neat Sealion mod stuff and I am trying to use it. I would like to inspire good scenario designers to come up with some post invasion scenarios in areas other than the south coast of England. Being what if, You can use whatever you want. Within reason, to be believable. BT you do good work, how about something? CSO_Talorgan I was trying to find areas near Carlisle that contain bits of Hadrian's wall and could be a WWII vintage battle area.
  3. Yes I thought of that too with Italians for the Irish, using German kit. PZIIIN later with Italian tankers. Use them for green recon ahead of the Germans too.
  4. Andreas and Desert Fox have their Sealion ending in August when the British Government surrenders. Details at Desert Fox' website. I don't think the British would give up, but retreat to the north. I suggested to Andreas to continue the saga to Hadrian's Wall. Then have a Bravehart style charge down the hill battle or whatever. That way you can mix up 1941-43 units in all the seasons and terrain. I have given up on the snow idea, no winter mods for the units I want to use.
  5. For future reference I found this at the Axis History Forum OOB Indochina 45 to 54
  6. Premise: Sealion was a success. Dunkirk survivors and home guard have retreated fighting as they go. Logistically the Germans could not take the whole island in weeks as with France. Fall winter weather, and resistance fighting has held the line of advance and occupation to a line from Carlisle to Newcastle upon Tyne. As the Barbarians harassed the Romans, so the remnants of the CW army, Canadians and Free French, harass the Germans. Why did the Germans stop there (Carlisle) you ask? Ocean and marshes to the west, rough terrain to the east. The river Eden. Supply lines. I would like to use Ed's new winter buildings and some WW grau armour in light snow vs the USA M3 in early 1941. More?
  7. This is the site with aerial photos of Carlisle I am guessing that CMAK Normandy type maps would be usable for this area. As you travel north, (along the Roman Road) does it become hilly or mountainous? Or east along the route of Hadrian's Wall?
  8. Yes I know how to Google lol Seems to be a tax on photos on websites in the UK. All I get are tiny pics. I found a site with aerial photos. I need to know if it snows in the winter, things like that.
  9. Anyone familiar with Carlisle Cumbria UK? I am looking to do a post Sealion scenario.
  10. Since I bumped this, I need to point out to the people not reading the whole thread, this started in Oct 2003 before CMAK came out.
  11. Ed's mods for CMAK on my PC work fine. I don't know why they don't on yours.
  12. "i just copied the both sets of bmps over to my game" Where did you tell them to go? They need to go into the bmp folder on a PC. You open the zip file and extract them to your bmp folder inside the game folder.
  13. This is what we were doing while waiting for CMAK. Some interesting posts from some of the regulars here. I was looking for Nelson 1812.
  14. Get back over there and announce yourself and your battle. TPG is a great place to learn and be taught. Go through the design tips section for more great advice. Keep in mind that Vietnam scenarios are not real popular among WWII fans.
  15. Thanks EB and Scorpion for the links. Very interesting. Maybe if CMx2 doesn't grab me I'll try this out.
  16. Use the dropdown menu. Click the down arrow next to "country" and click German then type will become available, click armor, then a list will become available in the bottom menu. It will make more sense once you try it. It has to be done in order or nothing shows in the dropdowns.
  17. As I continue my quest to use the nifty early war mods, here is more of this story. (See my CMBB post) As previously pondered here, the Japanese do not attack as Wilkie (in 1941) sells them oil to pay for the increasing defense budget. Development of the M2 and M3 tanks is pushed ahead of the historical schedule by Roosevelt under public pressure for more defense and the occupation of England. By fall 1940 lend lease tanks are arriving in North Ireland and Scotland. By winter 40-41 the Germans are moving further north slowed only by terrain, weather and pockets of resistance. to be continued....
  18. I used the "Search CMBB" function and found IIIF winter right away. Have you tried that? I did figure out how to use the rest. Fictitious Sealion post invasion - occupation battles. Winter snowy battles in the north 1941, Ireland invasion 1942, etc.
  19. Bogdan, have you looked at my screenshots with Ed's old CMBO HR large buildings, renumbered for CMAK? Granted I don't have damaged versions, but they sure look good. Add Juju's CMBB Berlin buildings for the biggies.
  20. David, I sent you the CMBB file and a screenshot from BO for the landmarks. Did you download the CMBO zip and look at his street map?
  21. Thanks Pat. From The Axis History Forum thread on Sealion I don't see a list of types of tanks other than the U submersibles. Andreas had PZIIC and PZIIIF G H on his list. Hans has used PZIIF in some of his 1940 France and I think IIIF but will have to check. Possible what ifs from the Axis History Forum: 1. Operation Sealion (England) 2. Operation Herkules (Malta) 3. Operation Tannenbaum (Switzerland) 4. Operation Felix (Gibraltar)
  22. A trip to Achtung Panzer PZIII page didn't say much about use in France, Greece or Malta. I did find these bits: This U-Panzer belonged to the 18th Panzer Division's 18th Panzer Regiment. This photo was taken during the crossing of the River Bug at Patulin on 22nd June of 1941. During the preparation for invasion of England - Operation Seelöwe (Sealion), Panzer III and Panzer IV were converted into submersible tanks able to travel on the bottom of body of water at the depths of 6 to 15 meters. From June to October of 1940, 160 Panzer III Ausf F/G/H and 8 Panzerbefehlswagen III Ausf E along with 42 Panzer IV Ausf Ds were converted into U-Panzers / Tauchpanzers. After extensive tests and modifications U-Panzer were ready for action. Since Operation Sealion was never realized, Tauchpanzer IIIs and IVs were used during Operation Barbarossa (crossing river Bug at Patulin), in service with 3rd (6th Panzer Regiment) and 18th Panzer Division. It was also planned to use U-Panzers in never realized invasion on the island of Malta. Interesting fact is that Polish Tank Platoon of the Carpathian Lancers received captured (7 or 8) PzKpfw III for training purposes, while in Egypt in August of 1942. Interesting fact is that the study report of captured PzKpfw III Ausf F made by the British in 1942, was then sent to United States Army Ordnance Department where it was decided to utilize copy of German torsion bar suspension system in future American tanks (e.g. M18 Gun Motor Carriage, M24 Chaffee, M26 Pershing etc.).
  23. Good news is they look great. Bad news is 3 sets to choose from. Oh decisions. I am ignorant in general and really don't know when these unit were on the battlefield. Did they exist in 1939? 1940? May 41 in CMAK. June 41 in CMBB. For Sealion and Tom's Greece project I picked every unit available in CMAK in Crete and NA May 41 not knowing what will be used by designers. It would be nice to know. Off to the internet I go. the Tanks site does not have German units.
