  1. Well, will simply make a map that it does connect to norway. It just has to, it makes no sense for it not to. The world is built that way, that's one part of history that we just can't change, just too crazy.
  2. doh, forgot my account was deleted, long time inactive. Created a new one. Let the hurting begin (on me)
  3. I intend to make a full world map for a WW2 scenario. Make a WW1 mod. Make a more detailed Canada, US, Mexico and the Islands with inclusion of UK, France, Spain, Portugal and make a mod about the battle for the new world between the UK, France, Spain and the Colonists fighting for independence in USA, Canada and Mexico. That one should be a doozy to accomplish.
  4. Yikes, I hope not. I was hoping this editor could be expanded to other eras. Most of all WW1, just can't find a good WW1 game anywhere.
  5. I still have not found how to sign up but if anyone is looking for a low experience opponent. blashy@hotmail.com
  6. I like the idea mentioned about making diag cost 2AP and normal cost 1, and increasing the AP of all units, this way they are no "left overs" from diag movements. If that will be the case, then tiles I prefer.
  7. LOL! Hey Zapp, how about kicking my butt, I'm getting back in the game, not that I have any experience. Anyways, I'd like to see how the top players go at it. Give me allies with the highest bid possible AND no tech. I would also like FoW off, you would still win but it would be more of a challenge for you and I could see how the new strats have evolved, hehe.
  8. I've seen a handfull critize the game (2-3) and the look of it. It won't double it. When I bought it online, it came out to a total of 12$ CDN more from buying it in the US. A retailer would charge me for the exchange rate (charging higher to make a profit), charge me for the shipping he paid (charging higher to make a profit) and then charge me for the cost of his rental fees, employee salaries. I've bought online 30+ items so far and I've saved over 30% or more everytime. Buying online is the best time that's happen in retail for the consumer, at least through my experiences. And you have to understand, if they are not going straight to retail, they have their numbers crunched and know it won't work for them right away. #1 would be all of the people here, 50+% might buy it from the store, making FurySoft loose a lot of money that would usually go straight to their pockets since these people are willing to purchase direct. And that is the main reason I beleive they do not go retail from the get go. I know it would be my reason. Sell a product for 30$ online, make a 20$ profit, sell retail make a 2$ profit, exaust all your online buyers and then go for the retail grabbers and convert them to online buyers for the next version, lol
  9. Thanks Kurt and anytime you want to whip me back into shape, email me blashy@hotmail.com And yes, games with no tech I've found make SC matches much tighter throughout the game and involves more thinkering. I love tech, when all of it is valuable, not when one because a rat race to who gets it all 1st, heh.
  10. The full map being shown in one shot, no need of units being placed. Just a nice shot of the whole map and it's layout of cities, mines, oils & ports. Oh, anyone noticed on this http://www.battlefront.com/products/sc2/screenshots/pages/properties.htm Seems Finland is connected to Sweden and Norway (hope I'm right)
  11. For a one man company like HC, going retail would be like giving the game away to the stores for free. The return on income is just not there. Moon thouroughly explained it once how selling 100 via online or mail order is worth selling 1000+ through a retailer. And for this game I agree. It is not a hyped game, by us it sure is but through general gaming sites it is barely a blip on their radar, I read those sites every day, I've yet to hear of SC or SC2 once. Oh as for Canada Costums, anything under 50$ is duty free, I paid none when I bought SC or many other products on eBay.
  12. NM, found the AA bug how to. Quite simple actually. I still say SC is better off played with no tech because of it's tech flaws.
  13. I'm getting back into SC PBEM and willing to get my butt whipped (I've read so many new strats that have been discovered). What is the bidding system in place at this time? There was one that involved the 3 Allied countries to get funds which seemed nice, is this the one? If you experience guys want an easy win, I would like to play you with this new system to see all the workings behind it, oh and please make a sticky of the AA bug, it looks like an unfair advantage for whoever knows it.
  14. Air units in SC would not be so overwhelming if the jet and lr tech were not the game breakers they are. Or just making the cost of air higher in SC would reduce air production. Like 500 standar and +50mpp per level. But luckily this won't be an issue in SC2
  15. How do you sign up for the game. I was in it some time ago and now I'm looking to get my butt kicked again but I can't sign up anywhere.
  16. He hit the nail on the head. This would be the 1st time I pre-order a game but would gladly do so to help out in cash flow and beta testing.
  17. From what I've seen, I'm mind boggled  It is incredible on how much stuff requested by the players has been implemented.
  18. I agree that as of now, apart from this being a full WW2 game and since it can be done with the editor. Those features mentioned by Zapp are what is missing IMHO.
  19. After what I've just, I'll definitly pre-order if you need extra funding. Amazing work on the game. I'm blown away.
  20. Tabarnac! The graphics are just amazing. And the new features mentioned, WOOT! I just hope my one wish of being able to have a full map is possible through the editor , which it states! (Full WW2 game upcoming for sure, yay) But hey, at least the map is A LOT bigger and individual control of countries WEEEEEE! You need me as a beta tester, heck I'll even make the trip to where you live if I have to (I'm in Ottawa). [ April 15, 2004, 10:12 PM: Message edited by: Blashy ]
  21. Is the AA bug simply putting planes on cities, so when they are attacked they also get AA defenses?
  22. I'm not for it, but once again, add this as an on/off option. Best way to go is to make as much of this game player configurable, meaning on/off options. As for HQs, I just want to be able to assign who controls what, none of the random effect like SC.
  23. Buying research does not kill a game. You just make it extremely expensive and pricier depending on the military value of said research. Planes would be something like 5x more expensive than anti-tank research and things like so. You make it so it is a serious choice, invest heavily (ex: SC 1000mpp) to buy level 1 and one extra 1000 for each level after (2000 for level 2, 3000 for level 3). These are just figurative numbers. But you see how research becomes a strategical move, it has to be a calculated risk. Luck research is always not so expensive and you just go at it and see if you get lucky. I don't much care for luck to be such a big a factor in a war game, which it is in SC at this time. Just read some AAR and you'll see what I mean.
