  1. If you are disappointed, maybe you should post in "Disappointed" thread?
  2. Just noticed from the screenshots that the infantry are missing their glint tape and unit patches. Also, the gas mask carrier should have "US" printed on the side. Also, the side pockets on the ACU pants are slanted, not square Thanks
  3. I am going to party tonight!!! Drinks up!! Oh, BTW, will there be XM8 rifle available, and other weapons coming down the pipe? [ October 08, 2005, 03:59 PM: Message edited by: M1A1TankCommander ]
  4. This game is going to be the best!! Thanks Battlefront team, you have anwsered my prayers!!! If you need photos of real M1 tanks, gear, whatever, let me know. I can also get you tank Technical Manual
  5. M1A1 series versus T-72 and T-80 is pretty much like Tiger versus Shermans. Its all about crew training and war doctrine, supplies, air supperiority, not just how big your armor or gun is. We all know what happened to Tiger tanks... Plus just about most of the modern infantry AT weapons will destroy any of the world's tanks.
  6. Dont forget, there are always the experienced Platoon Sergeant that can do the job. Thats what I found in my personal experience when losing my Lt. Most people seem to underestimate the NCO corps, and they are completely unrepresented in CM games CO would never take charge of a single platoon. He got bigger fish to fry, like taking charge of the whole company
  7. US Army over 8 years and going. I have 2 MOS: 19k20- abarms crewmember, and 14S20- Avenger team chief. I am about to become a military police, and then going on a 1 year deployment in January. I am hoping to see CM2 before then.
  8. I dont know about HEP rounds, but Beehive round is back in service http://www.g2mil.com/m1a3.htm
  9. No, most of the rounds are in the ready stowage behind the hydrolically operated sliding door, 6 are stowed in the hull (they are a bitch to get out. Those are only used if the crew uses up the rest of rounds. I normally load the HEAT rounds on top 2 racks, and the rest are SABOT. That way the heavier HEAT rounds are easier to load. If you are interested, I might have an extra M1 Technical Manual for sale
  10. One time me and my tank crew were coming back from a range in our tank, and all of the sudden I heard a huge BOOM (I was driving at the time) Apperently as we had to keep the turret pointing down-range, we hit a tree with the gun tube on the way back. As we hit it, the turret just spawn around, and we had no more control over it. Later we found out that the impact had sheared a bunch of teeth on the traverse ring. You could push the turret around by hand. The gun also brake the gun mount, and that had to be replaced. It took 3 days to fix. The whole turret had to come off
  11. I play with Fog of War off, because I have awesome recon units! Here is a confession: Ive played CMBO, CMBB, CMAK from the very beginning, and never played against a human I tried PEBM once, and never got past first turn. It was very difficult to master to me. I hope the AI is stronger in the new game, and maybe represents several different playing styles, kind of like those opponents in chess video games
  12. I am still hoping for a modern (21 century) warfare sim. Those figthing in Middle East deserve to be honoured by Battlefront
  13. My guess is that whatever it is, Ill buy it.
  14. Hmm here is what I get And back on topic: I can not wait to see the screenshots. I check the website every 2-3 hours daily. Is that obsessive-compulsive? Maybe
  15. Smoke grenades are not used to cover "hidden moves" They are used when the enemy has the bead on you already, and you pop smoke to conceal your movement. Its used a lot in real life close combat. I had to rely on smoke a lot in my experience. Its better to have a cloud of smoke between you and the enemy, than nothing, especially if you are pinned down
  16. I found this little jem- Virtual Battlespace. Here are some shots. To bad its so expensive.
  17. Will there be blood effects/gore?
  18. Will there be blood effects/gore?
  19. This game pretty accuralty portraits a way real tank handles- I thought of my days as a tank crewmember. The commands, and the way the tank AI responds to them is good. The graphics are very good compared to any tank sim out there. My biggest beef with the demo is the "diabolical" control scheme. Is it just me, or do 99% of Russian games have horrible controls(nothing personal, I am Russian) Seems like Russian game developers are stuck in the past, and just dont use intuitive controls. I am baffled
  20. Dorosh- what are you drinking? hellfish- I was in Korea in 2001 - I dont remember every single army acronim. It might have been MPRC, it does sound familiar. Its about 10 miles south of DMZ. Ive been to many ranges More pics from Korea: [ July 20, 2005, 02:44 PM: Message edited by: M1A1TankCommander ]
  21. Korea Conflict:2006 sounds like a great module. Here are some toys we could play with Engagements that long are not realy common place in Korea- terrain is too hilly. In the desert though.... Here is a photo of a tank range between mountains in South Korea near DMZ [ July 20, 2005, 01:47 PM: Message edited by: M1A1TankCommander ]
