  1. Will British Royal Marines be included in the Marines module as well as American? I hope that is the surprise being talked about in the blog
  2. What is a "must have" equipment for British Forces?
  3. Sorry, I meant end of WW1, not WW2 Stalin didnt even come in the picture at that time.
  4. By Nancy A. Youssef, McClatchy Newspapers Mon May 5, 6:18 PM ET WASHINGTON — The deaths of two U.S. soldiers in western Baghdad last week have sparked concerns that Iraqi insurgents have developed a new weapon capable of striking what the U.S. military considers its most explosive-resistant vehicle. The soldiers were riding in a Mine Resistant Ambush Protective vehicle, known as an MRAP, when an explosion sent a blast of super-heated metal through the MRAP's armor and into the vehicle, killing them both. Their deaths brought to eight the number of American troops killed while riding in an MRAP, which was developed and deployed to Iraq last year after years of acrimony over light armor on the Army's workhorse vehicle, the Humvee. The military has praised the vehicles for saving hundreds of lives, saying they could withstand the IEDs, or improvised explosive devices, which have been the biggest killers of Americans in Iraq . The Pentagon has set aside $5.4 billion to acquire 4,000 MRAPs at more than $1 million each, making the MRAP the Defense Department's third largest acquisition program, behind missile defense and the Joint Strike Fighter. But last Wednesday's attack has shown that the MRAPs are vulnerable to an especially potent form of IED known as an EFP, for explosively formed penetrator, which fires a superheated cone of metal through the vehicle's armor. Military officials are still trying to determine whether last week's attack is a sign of "new vulnerabilities (in the vehicle) or new (weapons) capabilities" on the part of insurgents, said Navy Capt. John Kirby , a spokesman for Adm. Michael Mullen , chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. U.S. officials don't know if the EFP that pierced the MRAP was larger, redesigned or a lucky shot from an old one. But explosive experts in Iraq are investigating, said Col. Jerry O'Hare , a military spokesman in Iraq . The attack comes at a precarious political juncture in Iraq . U.S. officials have accused Iran of shipping EFPs across the border and arming militias. They charge that despite assurances from Iran that it would curtail its shipment of EFPs, new weapons have arrived this year. So far, military officials in Baghdad don't know whether the EFP used in the attack was Iranian-made or if it was shipped to Iraq this year. Five of the eight soldiers who've died in MRAPs were killed in April, said Geoff Morrell , a Pentagon spokesman. Earlier in the month, a soldier was killed when an explosive struck an MRAP and it rolled over. Another two died in April when their MRAP rolled over and they drowned, Morrell said.
  5. I know this Certain Russian military heroes are portrayed wearing the type of conical helmet you see above in my post. Toward the end of WW2 the Czar of Russia wanted to update the uniforms, create a more patriotic feeling in the troops. Thousands of uniforms, including those hats were stockpiles, but didnt get a chance to be distributed. After the revolution Soviets discovered the uniforms and hats, added some red stars, and called the hats "budenovka" after a Soviet general Budenov. I know that Hitler tried to bring same patriotic feeling in German people by designing the symbology and uniforms, including the helmets. They might not be all "German", but they represent typical German helmet PS: I made a mistake. Meant to say "end of WW1" [ May 06, 2008, 02:31 PM: Message edited by: M1A1TC ]
  6. As an additional US Army units to CMSF I would like to see: Armor Survivability Kit (ASK), the FRAG 5, FRAG 6 Humvees M1A2 TUSK M113A3 M2A3/M3A3 Bradley with ERA Warhammer Bradley M1117 Guardian Armored Security Vehicle M1097 Avenger
  7. BFC If an infantry unit is equiped with NVGs, could you please add the model in the game wearing them during night scenarios? Please? [ May 06, 2008, 09:56 AM: Message edited by: M1A1TC ]
  8. They are not being modelled. They are not used by HQ units only as some might think
  9. I think the Marines in the module will have their own set of uniforms different from Army. I doubt that BFC would just retexture existing Army skins
  10. Similar things was happening in Soviet Union Middle-Age Russian Knights End of WW1 Soviet soldiers
  11. I thought the title of the Module would have answered that question That being said, we've been following the TUSK program very closely over the years. It's morphed, changed, been on hold, downgraded, etc. during that time. It's now slowly trickling into Iraq in phases. IIRC about 130+ Phase I kits are in Iraq at the moment and two more Phases are to follow. We want to put TUSK in and therefore we will. Sooner rather than later, but not as a part of the Marines Module. Just be patient and not only will you get it, but it will be a fair reflection of what TUSK actually is instead of what it is on paper. Steve </font>
  12. When turned upside down, it doubles as a plate for mutton and beans
  13. BUMP!! Why arent these in Marine module?!
  14. They went away with the way of the goggles and mortar teams
  15. I dont think a frag would do it. A incendiary grenade would do the trick. Thats what we are supposed to use to destroy it if it is damaged and cant be recovered.
  16. Its official now. The CM Marine module is called CMSF:Marines
  17. http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=33027903 Watch till the end. I wish CMSF had destroyed tank models similar to what they look like on this video
  18. I actually already created an Australian infantry mod - check CMMODS.com
  19. How about changing it so that trenches and fox-holes have to be spotted in order to appear on the map, instead of the player knowing from the beginning where they are
  20. Posted on Apr 10: "M1A1TC, We'll release a list fairly soon. We're still messing around with some of the details even though the basic models are done. The extra upgrades to Humvees is something we are looking into. Steve " Hey Steve, its been over two weeks, could you post that list please?
  21. I dont think he will get an official response in the Tech Support Forum as it is generally avoided by the BFC
