  1. I tried this just now. I think that the terrain deformation can be "rationalised". In a defensive position, the attacker has probably scoped out all your bunkers anyhow. And the dudes making the bunkers on a slope surely have to dig them in, deforming the terrain. However, the LOS change is hard to deal with, as this extreme example shows: (this bunker was at ground level, with it's base level with the bush you can see (trunks) to it's right in this picture before I pressed "go") Something for BFC to "review", I think... 2. Meantime, scenarios work fine, AFAIK. Only QBs have the crash problem. If you find out differently, holler! GaJ
  3. Great idea (me too!). But... keep the password stickies for a few weeks till we're sure my notes page doesn't loose anything somehow!! I'd hate for your game to get stuck because I lost your password from the notes page. It may be worth to know that the notes are stored in the AppState.txt in the place listed at the top of the log window (alongside the log file). So if for some reason you delete/loose this file, you'll loose the notes. (I just realised that AppState.txt is not a text file, either heh heh I wonder why I called it that!) I might think about a separate, easy-to-back-up-not-all-eggs-in-one-basket place to keep track of vital things like the game password. GaJ
  4. You need to wait a very short while till BFC release a patch that fixes it. You could compare the amount of time this takes to any other software bugfix that you request from your other software suppliers. My bet is that it will be favourable. GaJ
  5. Hi All, H2HH 2.4.1 is in the H2HH Dropbox Share now (PM me with your email if you don't have access). Thanks to the generous help of Ian Leslie, the issue with right click->Launch CMBN 2.0 is resolved. In addition, 2.4.1 brings - Game->Add Game - Game right click-> Notes Add Game completes the dropbox usage cycle. Its for the time when it is your oppo, not you, who starts the game. They share their dropbox with you, and you're left having to copy their first file into Incoming Email manually before H2HH sees it. No more. Now you can do Game->Add game and point to the new game file in the dropbox folder that your oppo shared with you, and H2HH will figure it out and set it up. Game right click->Notes gives you a place where you can store ... notes About the game, and the opponent, of course. The most usual thing I found myself wishing for is a reminder about who it is that the opponent actually is You can store their email address and their club name or whatever in the notes. And whatever notes you think of as well: maybe a reminder of what you were thinking when you selected forces The Notes window is a bit primitive right now - you just type in it, edit what you want etc, then close it using the window manager close button ('X'). The notes you typed will be saved and can be edited again next time you open the window. As usual, any hassles, problems, bugs... hit me up whichever way you can find me. Help->Report Bug is pretty good Enjoy. GaJ

  7. Ah - I need to wake myself up. We're in CM Normandy forum here. I experienced this in CMFI, not CM Normandy (2.0 or otherwise). GaJ Footnote: if you look closely, the OP's Marder appears striped....
  8. Yeah, at first it seems funny, this bug, but when you're playing a whole game with Marders it gets a bit old. I reported it a while back, but kind of got the impression that folk thought it was just my machine. So I'm glad to see someone else has this problem too. GaJ
  9. To be fair, PBEM/H2H players have to either roll back or just wait to be able to continue playing due to the crash-on-loading bug. While this is a handful of people in proportion to the vs AI twitchers, it is nonetheless a fair body of players. If there's a better characterisation of the problem, like "actually its safe to play scenarios, it's only QBs that are affected" that would be helpful to know. In the clubs, the word is "don't bother with 2.0, because your game might get crashed at any point". It would be great to have a more enabling messge than this, if one exists... GaJ
  10. Ian, you're a champ! Thanks so much for this. I'm in the midst of (slowly) getting a physical windows PC set up that I can use for H2HH testing, since all my routine work is on a Mac and a Windows virtual machine. Now that I know what the answer is, there's good hope to have this dealt with this weekend. Cheers, GaJ
  11. Everything I have read has said You MUST install 1.11 before upgrading to 2.0. GaJ
  12. It's almost certainly not that easy any more. The different game versions have more "stuff" in the Data folder, so once you have v2.0 stuff in the Data folder, it seems highly likely that you'll be getting 2.0 stuff. Hence ... separate install for separate versions is the safest thing. GaJ
  13. This is _such_ a common problem, I do wish that BFC would make it more obvious when a group select has occurred due to double click. I haven't suggested this directly before now because I haven't thought of a bright suggestion about _how_ this should be better indicated to the player! Thoughts? (I also haven't suggested it because I know Steve said "no UI improvements till ... sometime later". But even so!..!)
  14. I'll get there soon, but in the mean time: could someone send me a listing of the directory with CMBN CM installed, full details (full file names, dates, sizes) on a PC. Thanks! GaJ
  15. Huh - beyond belief. I can't even begin to imagine how this happens! Looks like I need to find a PC, get CMBN on it, and try it out! GaJ
  16. There's a thread reporting that a couple of people have found that that CMBN 2.0 launches fine by double clicking on it, but H2HH can't launch it. This seems to be a PC thing. I don't have CMBN available on a PC right now to test it. So it will be helpful for me to know from people on PCs: - What operating system? - Can H2HH launch CMBN 2.0 for you? Thanks GaJ
  17. I think MG will be a CMBN Module. I think you have to already have CMBN 2.0 to run new CMBN Modules, from now on. So get 2.0. GaJ
  18. And thanks for the info on Zimmerit ... wow, what a lot of trouble to go to!
  19. Yeah - nice horizons!! They'll get much more use than the Tiger (Ooo - must be sailing close to the wind now, on the "don't hassle Aris" front!!) GaJ
  20. I've wondered for ages ... what is the strange crinkly surface on these tanks?
  21. Yeah, true, he did say "these" mods... fair point, fair answer! Cheers, GaJ
