  1. All Atlantic subs gone no Allied ships are lost. Preparing defences, Italian readiness at 84%
  2. Allies do the Dutch Gambit on their first turn since all German air was used against Poland. One sub was found but did not want to die dispite 4! attacks on it. We fear that a UK cruiser might pay the price for this faliure. The Frence can now dig in and wait for the Germans to come. Poland will probably fall next turn. Our friends in the US did not like the LC attack. US readiness is -15% . The Italian readiness is up to 79% but will hopefully not move much more for a long time.
  3. What they talk about is the catch up effect in reserch since the USSR has L-2 IT tech.
  4. Well saidenko Xwormwood! From Ragnuts that writes before he thinks
  5. So inventing moves only count when you play IP........hum...good to know.
  6. Oh....I didn't know my name was so cool. Thanks!! Sure I'll go for a IP game with bidding and everything. Since you are the one missing the bidding so much I let you start bidding Send me a email and we´ll set up a time for a game. Må bäste man vinna.............
  7. I also wanna be on the list............. gunnar.elgenstrom@utb.boras.se
  8. I´m a PBEMer even if I just played my first IP game. The best is to be able to do both. Sometimes one has more free time and then IP is great but PBEM is the working mans choice. I support all efforts to promote PBEM.
  9. I did as you wrote but the same result as before. I can use the editor in a xtra version of SC with the older 1.07 patch for now but will a scenario created there work with the newer patch? I will make a test.
  10. I tried the direct X thing but no improvment. If I use any other patch then the latest one it works.........strange. I have Windows 98
  11. The only message is; Lanuch Error - Could not lanuch Strategic Command Program terminated. Everything else is OK.
  12. Rockets can be very useful given time and investment in development. But it needs some air defence, same goes for HQ´s. I think if Germany and Russia would have one when the game starts(1939) L-1, it could make people consider it as a useful unit. As it is now the cost and time it takes to make them powerful is usualy better used elsewhere.
  13. When I installed the latest version of the 1.07 patch it made the editor stop working. I reinstalled the game, leaving it clean and added the patch and still the editor didn´t work. It works perfect without the newest patch version. What can I do to solve this problem?
  14. Sovjet Union started to press back the Germans before the US was any serious threat to the Axis. If this is true? Then USSR must have the greater glory for defeating the Nazis.
  15. Ok Kuniworth let´s see what you are worth. Hit me with your best shot, in a PBEM game. I´ll be the allies and I´ll do the gambit and I hope you will cruch me. Normally I do want to win but this will be a rare exception. My mail address: gunnar.elgenstrom@utb.boras.se Why do you (a fellow swede) call yourself kuniworth? Not my bizniz really, but you are a bit of a celebrity at this forum. Just being a bit "nyfiken".
  16. It´s not worth it..........well maby one should not try so hard to take France and start taking over minors like Norway, Jugoslavia and ........ but in the menwhile France is just building more and more units and the English are getting jets and longrange tech. I agree that if France falls in a reasonable time it´s good for the Axis with the Dutch gambit, but for sure France has to fall and the sooner the better! My question was how do you break the neck of the french when the LC fall to the Allies on turn one. And don´t say just keep on attacking that hex......tell me how to hit it so the Allies get more hurt then the Axies
  17. I read Zappsweden very useful infomation but some how it must be someting missing (a trade secret?) The problem is that if you don´t break the line early the economics of things work against you. The axis fight themselfs bloddy and the allies slowly get stronger and richer...........
  18. Hi! I´m quit new to the game but read a lot of useful information at this forum. My problem is that I can´t beat the Dutch gambit. And belive me I have really tried very hard many times. Both against humanplayers and testing against myself. 4 times out of 5 I fail to take France and when I do, it´s to late-may/june 41. The LC falls on turn one so the axis don´t have much time to react more then sending over the Luftwaffe and an army or two. The allies send a plane to the Maginot line to plugg the hole and send the Alger corps to block the Italian border. The Italians enter early but then the mountains are allready blocked by 3 corps and they will never go. When the Axis take the hex southest of Brussels the allies counter attack and normally kills the unit. The axis has more fighters but have problems reparing them to fighting strength and tend to be forced to attack with fighters with only 3 or 4 in strength to have a chance to take that F***ing hex. Fighters are easyly lost to carriers and fewer but stronger allied fighters. Poland and Denmark has fallen with it´s plunder but that money dosn´t go far. The french sell their navy and build a HQ. The Britts will also build a HQ but it takes a a bit more time though. The Allies take it very easy in the Med avoiding the Italian navy, but holding both Gibraltar, Alexandria and Malta. I know some of you expert player say the gambit is no big problem but it´s beyond me to crack this nut right now..........please help me out.
