  6. October 17th 1914 No engagements reported in the west. In the east, the German 7th, 8th, and 9th armies attack the Russian 13th Army for the second time, with the same effects. The first unwelcome reports of the war made it to newspapers accross Germany today, the German U-boat that was made famous by sinking a British battleship and crippling another, was sunk today in the North Atlantic. The Kaiser personally attends the ceremony honoring the lost crew.
  7. September 19th 1914 No engagements reported in the west. In the east, the first offensive against the Russians was commenced when the Russian 13th Army north of Warsaw was attacked by the German 7th, 8th, and 9th armies. The Russian 13th Army was knocked down to 20% while the attacking German armies took no losses. In the North Atlantic, my German U-boat was surrounded and attacked from all directions only to survive and continue the fight. Even though the sub will be sunk by next turn it still carried out a attack on the already damaged British battleship H.M.S. New Zealand knocking it down to 40%. In the Baltic, The German High Seas Fleet finishes off what was left of the Russian Northern Fleet when the main body of the Russian Northern Fleet in Helsinki Harbor and the Russian cruiser force in Kronstadt Harbor was sunk by the German Battleships Hannover and Pommern. The German High Seas Fleet sustained minimal losses in the Battle for the Baltic making it one of the biggiest German victorys in history.   8. August 29th 1914 The western front slows to a stalemate, both sides reinforce. In the east, no engagements reported. In the North Atlantic, a German U-boat engages the British battleship H.M.S. New Zealand causing a significant amount of damage. The Austro-Hungarian goverment declares the Balkans "safe and secure". Austro-Hungarian units are now free to be commited elsewhere. In the Baltic, the German High Seas Fleet suprises the main body of the Russian Fleet in Helsinki Harbor and reduces it to 10% of its original strengh.   15. FORMAL COMPLAINT Maximillian214 has refused to finish our game or concede. I have left him 3 e-mails (1st: 4-12-03 2nd: 4-14-03 3rd: 4-15-03) asking him to set a date to continue our game, I also left a post on Opponent Finder Forum yet I get no reply. I understand that people have busy schedules and cannot always finish games the same week they are started, but all I was asking for was for him to set a date to finish or at least reply to my e-mails.   17. I know this is a Axis strategie, but it is definitely unusual. I was playing against CVM and he did what he always did, withdraw all French units from France to England (with an exception of the armies gurading the Maginot Line) making an invasion of France a piece of cake. Now this was back in my newbie days when I thought I was better off not invading any neutral countries at all unless I had to. So I looked a the big picture, the only way into France at the time (without invading the Low Countries) was through the Maginot Line which I considered to be suicide. So I decided to wait until Italy entered the war and invade through southern France and caputre Paris without any problems (of course things didn't work out that way). Italy finally did enter and half the German Army began to invade through southern France while the other half stayed up north in case the French abandoned the Maginot Line. I quckly occupied southern France but half way to Paris I began to run out of supplies (even though my units were supported by my HQ). To make matters worse, CVM had enough time to build corps to place around Paris. Finally in August 1940, after most of my undersupplied armies and airfleets were worn down to 50%, Paris finally fell. Lets just say I never went out of my way to spare the Low Countries again. Comrade Trapp

  20. Kuniworth I didn't say the troops always get cut off, I said its been know to happen. The Polish troops don't even have to move, the zones of control sometimes change automaticly. Rambo prob can capture Warsaw on turn 1, but considering the Polish never surrended the same time every game I doubt that Rambo gets Poland to surrender everytime. Comrade Trapp
  21. Ken is right, even if you do take Warsaw the first turn, its unlikely the Polish will surrender that quickly. In fact, there is a downside, when your forces do take Warsaw and Poland doesn't surrender that turn, the forces you used to take the city will prob be cut off and be running out of supplies by time turn 2 comes around. Ofcourse you can breakout with no problem, but some of your units will be out of supplies and therefore will take more losses if used to attack (everythig goes back to normal by the next turn). I think I have got Poland to surrender on turn 1 a couple of times in the past, but its rare. Comrade Trapp
  22. August 1st 1914 German and Austro-Hungarian troops cross the border into Russia and attack the unprepared Russian Army. France comes to the aid of her ally and qucikly declares war on the Central Powers. The Germans react quickly, putting the Schlieffen Plan into effect, German forces cross the border into France occupying Belgium in the process. The French 4th Army guarding the Ardennes is attacked from 4 directions bringing it down to 20% strength. Meanwhile, the German 5th Army quickly secures the undefended French mine. By the end of the turn a German battleline was created going along the French-Belgium border then down into France around where the Maginot Line would be. The Germans take minimal losses in the opening phase of the invasion of Belgium and France. Great Britian is quick to react to the German occupation of Belgium when it declares war on the Central Powers. In the Balkans, Austro-Hungarian forces attack Serb forces bringing the Serbs to their knees. In the North Atlantic, a German U-boat sinks the British battleship H.M.S.   24. December 12th 1914 In the east, the Russian 5th Army is attacked by 3 German Armies and knocked down to 10% strengh. Meanwhile outside Kiev, the German 5th Corps is cutoff behind enemy lines. In the Black Sea, the Turkish Navy attacks the Russian Black Sea Fleet anchored in Sevastopol inflicting serious damage to the Russians. The Russian Black Sea Fleets quickly disengaged from battle and fled to Rostov Harbor, the Turkish Navy was unable to pursue.
