  1. Great post and yes i'd like to see a panzer unit not lose supply so quickly. especially if a corp just managed to run across it's path. Course in the meantime i use that corp for just that purpose.
  2. Agreed. that's why i haven't commented on SC2. Waiting for Hubert to post the Scale and setting and ask for suggestions before i start throwing ideas around. I hate repeating myself and saying the same thing over and over....
  3. Unwieldy <> Complex Wierd i didn't find it that complex? Just tedious. You want complex grab some old avalon hill board games That'll wake up the old grey matter.
  4. Yeah that's an old shock to the system. Lol means u didn't slow down his expansion enough and now it's time for the pain. First time it happened to me I yelled SumBitch out load at the screen Lol.
  5. That may be true. So have you had a game on vassel yet? I have gone there 3 times and not even managed to find an opponent. Seems all i see is old chat messeges of people saying they can't get it to work.
  6. Because they know it would not sell the game and probally would warn people away that are going to buy it but find they can't return it because of the new copyright laws. BTW don't waste your time the game is a nightmare to manage it has 4 sliders that have to be micromanaged and change by themselfs. Basically it's coronary in a box. 7. Duh how would i be REMOVING anything when I asked for it to be an "Option" Try go rereading my post and comprehending it this time. Also for those who like to see a AW take out a Fully entrenched army the "option" could be made to increase the chance factor as well. Which of course could also be factored into the handicap system. It's all easy 7th grade mathematics.
  8. Wish i had a group local that sounds like a great time
  9. Some games you just can't lose a battle and some you can't buy one. I'd like to see a option to lower the element of chance or completely eliminate it. Don't get me wrong i believe chance can play a part in any battle but not a decisive one. I'm not sure if the game uses a seed for each attack or for each turn or for each game. But it is really wierd that it seems some games can be very one sided on the rolls. I've seen it mentioned before that people would like to see the dice rolls and that would also be a nice addition. Maybe a slider bar that can "Hedge" the random factor that can Change the table effects up or down accordingly.
  10. I concure. exellent idea. I've seen it mentioned before to allow a corp or Army unit to drop a garrison unit. I think that would be a much needed addition to address this issue. I really don't know the numbers on german Unit sizes but in american terms a Battalion or a brigade would be large enough to secure these points. To split and reform units would kick ass. Something i'd love to see in SC2.
  11. Tough to second guess that one! I'm gonna stick with the Party line. The evidence that they would not have is the fact that it took 2 Bombs before they would believe it was only one that dropped on each city. Good thing they bought the threat tokyo was next as there was no more bombs lol (yet). [ January 22, 2003, 02:11 PM: Message edited by: Hueristic ]
  12. You can't destroy whats not there.
  13. Wrong Absolute Obedience is what allows things like Holocaust to occur Even the "Lowley" Private must think for himself. Ask a Marine they're taught to think for themself's and they're the Greatest Fighting force the world has ever seen. Well I do. That's how it's determined whether it was a true accident or some "Slacker" trying to cover his own ass. And the Military does that very well Let me tell you. I'm Sure if you were on the front line in a foxhole and u were getting shelled from your own lines you'd change your Tone on this one REAL fast. And No-one likes a POS polition trying to make a name off of others misfortune but Unfortunately some americans are too stupid to notice it when it happens and think it's the patriotic thing to do. I think you meant to Put a NOT in there somewhere. If so then i agree. IF this was a perfect world, but it is most certainly not and where the military is concerned they have the worst record of living up to thier mistakes than any orginization i've ever seen short of a political party. AMEN Now that's Food for thought. . Absoulutely True. Japs were the most Xenophibic people on the face of the earth at the time. Even to this day they refuse to admit they migrated from china even though archaeologists have irrefutable proof. They didn't land because they had no clue that they did as much damage as they actually did. As for pissing us off thier intention was too declare war before the attack but due to thier diplomats being ignored for hours We were never notified of the declaration till after,It was never in the plan to attack before declaration. But this is all common knowledge.
  14. Well this question is obviosly known to The better axis players but i guess they are unwilling to share. so i started doing some tests the other day and it seems these questions cannpt be answered exactly without a major undertaking as there is a random factor involved. I have a few data sheets going and am getting close to some Quantative stats. Until this study is finished I can give all you who want to hold the ruskies at bay this info. Have 2 units within 2 hexes of border from Mountain below warsaw(not in mountains) to Konigsberg. Makeing sure at least one of those citys is garrisoned. At Dec 40 place 2 more units within 2 hexes of same border. these may be corp or army(i haven't tested armor). Both cities must be garisoned at this point. At june 8th one more unit. this is when the timer starts. I've managed to get it to only raise 1 on this turn but there seems to be a random factor i have not nailed down yet. I recommend 3 corps and 2 armies at this time. AND remeber placeing TOO much strength will increase readiness as fast as not enough! Guess they get ansy either way Will post More as my tests progress.
  15. They are handing you a line of BS. Probally the person you spoke to thought you were refering to a multi-player game that would require large amounts of bandwidth. I.E. Half-life/Unreal/Quake. All you have to do is make sure port 6530 can accept incomeing connections there are a mutitude of programs to check this. just search. And yes you may have to tell a firewall you have running to allow port 6530 to be connected to. Also there is no way they can stop you from serveing a game. If they could then All security firms would be of no consequence as there would never be another hack attack. GOTO practicallynetworked.com do some reading. I don't know nor recommend XP so i cannot help you here but i did walk an xp user once through hosting and he was able to after shutting down his firewall. So good luck but Remeber one thing Your ISP CANNOT stop you from hosting a game. PERIOD.
  16. I just had an idea. I don't know the mpp count and don't feel like doing the math now but what about this. 2 AC 2 BB ? Subs ALL size 1 take the mpp count and get as many size 1 subs after u place the AC and BB's and scatter them in the N.A. Then the allies will still have to hunt these packs. and if it comes out to like 5 or so if they all attack one BB they can still sink it!
  17. First of all Great Mod Idea. This is a Mod in it's own right as it not only changes history it Changes the play of the game. I see the 2 original subs as being there to "occupy" the ally navy for a few important turns. Removeing them will only let the allied player have Cont Blance (Spelling?) in the atlantic/straight. Not to mention the fact i've had a few last over a month against me(What a pain it the ars!) And I've had one live to well into 42 (Ol' SuperSub). OK with that said lets do the math, For it is generally held that axis has the advantage to begin with let us not gift them a unsurmountable advantage. AS you have Stated the baltic is one great Defensive Position. Clearly these ships will become a factor not only in supporting a sealion but in repelling an invasion, which i believe is a nessesary ally move to win(correct me if i'm wrong here ). 325*2=650 700/10=70 mpp per strength point times amount units original cost - lowered strength (700)-((10-3)*70)*2=420 (600)-((10-2)*60)*2=240 650-(240+420)= -10 AXIs gain 10 mpp But what bothers me is these assests get moved to a fortified location. I believe this could never be a balanced scenerio. But a great MOD i'm sure. I would leave one sub in the N.A. just to force the allies to search and destry. And i would place these(unfinished units at stregth "1" I think that would more accurately depict thier "Unfinished" State. And would also Cause the Axis player to have to "protect these assets while they are in the rebuild stage. a size 3 AC in a port can defend it's self and would actually help in any attack the allies Launched to destroy these pieces. as it stands now the axis can build them up 1 point a turn and not have to worry about protecting them as the Baltic is soo defensive. But in closeing. I will Play test this as any Mod ur working on. I'm enjoying the one we have going right now.
  18. What are the exact dates the russian and american readiness values start to increase and by how much per turn? Also i believe 2 corps within russian border in 40 and 3 units within 2 hexes in 41 will keep this at bay until that timed point. Is this correct? Ahh also i believe if you leave a baltic state capitol open this will cause Russian rediness to increase by 5 per open cap? Is this correct.
