  1. I really don't know. It came up as " Narshi"... maybe? It deleted my favourites and I connected to microsoft but they told me I had no virus after checking my system. McAfees instructed me to delete files and I did. I updated there aswell. I restored XP but that didn't help and as I ran Nero to back up my files. It got slower and slower. In the end nothing would open from my desktop and little from my start menu so I deleted the partition and formated my hard disc to save it, I had backed up my files to a large extent on the 25th Feb so loss and damage was minimal in the end... really. What was it, I can't say for sure. But if you play on the Net, don't leave home without your firewall.
  2. I've tried this with McAfee's Firewall from their antivirus v6 but I'm still unable to host without the XP firewall turned off. Apparently it's not stopped a worm even when everything is set to filter with the port configured to 7023. I've had zone alarm on before, a couple of years ago. What makes this better?
  3. I'm currently running Windows XP home edition and I've found the only way, so far, to host a TCP/IP game is to turn off the Windows XP internal firewall. How do I configure my system so I don't need to do this? I've been getting away with it for a while but I was wormed 2 days ago with formatting HD results. Sheesh!
  4. Well Spotted old Son. Nice One! It is a fact that NO convicts were sent to South Australia. We all jumped ship of our own accord... what that says I don't know.

  7. WOW , you guys rock! Thanks heaps to all you fella's. It's a great thing for you guys to share the knowledge, and I for one trully appreciate it! [ February 13, 2004, 04:51 AM: Message edited by: Richie ]
  8. ... you mean kinda like... Richie, or... Michael Dorosh... By the way, do you really cross your fingers and hope for the best? I always thought someone with thirteen thousand, one hundred and sixty seven posts up would have it all sussed out. That really is kind of scarey... No really
  9. JasonC, I really am most impressed by the scope of the technical information you have at hand. Is there any chance you could post a list of your favourite reference material. I tried to look up information I thought I had pertaining to barrel changes and fire rates you posted in another thread, alas I found I was lacking... I'm sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate this. Cheers, Richie
  10. To me, that jeep doesn't appear to be overly threatened by the enemy squad shooting at it. Maybe, when the threat becomes substantial enough and it is exposed enough, then it will shoot 'outside the CA' that has been specifically appointed as the area where 'you wanna kill as many dudes as possible'. After all, if you are 'killin' some dudes real good', why shoot someone else if they ain't hurting you? Kill, Kill, Kill. Thrill, Thrill, Thrill; a song by... 'The Painter's and Docker's'
  11. Just a question MrSpkr... Which scenario were you hoping to review...?
  12. MrSpkr, I, myself, decided to upload the scenario 'First Taste of Honey' to The Scenario Depot about 2 weeks ago. Being rather green if not conscript at this kind of thing I must say I was rather daunted by their 1342 point check list required for the uploading. I realised I would actually need to print out the briefing in order to post it... Now, I suppose I could I spend five minutes posting something at 'the depot' or then again five minutes toiling over a bubbling cauldron for what may be, THE RUMBLINGS OF WAR...? I guess you'll find 'the fella's at B&T a little bit busy presently but rest assured, we all want the same thing. You, Me, Everybody... ... and I'll post my scenario as soon as I can, as I'm sure all the Vet's will! In the meantime, visit Boots and Tracks. Download a little something... play something evil (if not fun) Richie
  13. Thankyou, I hope you find it evil and twisted in a fun and friendly sort of way... Don't forget to download 'Richie's Instant Reichstag' from CMMods.com for your wargaming pleasure...
  14. "RUN, YOU FOOLS..." Gandalf the Grey...
  15. Oh yeah, a small point. While from time to time some of the dedicated players of CM in it's many facades have had issues with the game, it's always been my understanding from my own experience that the fine fellows at Battle Front do THEIR BEST to facilitate the needs and rectify any problems customers do have. In short, I'll think you'll find a patch or replacement software provided as soon as the problem has been clearly identified and rectified. As I have, (Thanks to Matt and all the other fellows at Battle Front)... Richie, from Australia. Boots and Tracks. P.S. I've always found you get a lot further in life with a gun and a smile than you do with just a gun...
