  1. Are you going to do the T26E? (IMO the only one worth a damn) To your point... I am currently using 56k and the only time I would hesitate to d/l a mod would be if its over 30MB's. 6-7 MB's is not even a concern for me.
  2. Looks really good, throw some camoflague on their and you definately have a winner.
  3. I liked NG cavscout's idea, caters to both groups... If this will be the last game released with this engine, they really should make a compilation of all unit types, as well as terrain and such and slap it in CMAK. It makes everyone happy and fulfills even my wish of playing CMBO on the updated engine. I still like and play CMBO, but it does lack in comparison.
  4. Just my thoughts on an old thread... Actually, besides the T-70, the T-26'Ekranirovanniy'E, is realtively well equipped to handle the Pz38(t)E and the like with a decent rate of success in 41'. In a platoon vs platoon between the 2, I lost only one T-26 compared to all Pz's being destroyed(usually side or rear shots). At an approximate range of 400-500 meters the Pz's either ran out of ammo or their guns were damaged. The ammo load on the Russian AFV was immense. I believe it could have easily gone either way. It was pure comedy.
  5. Yea, I guess it is normal. Just never bothered with the useless bastages after the tanks thrashed.
  6. So lay down, the threat is real. When his sight goes r3d a641|\/.
  7. Oops, I meant L's... 50mm by l60... IIRC. [ July 21, 2003, 07:25 AM: Message edited by: Major Jerkov ]
  8. I believe a fairer fight is the '43 T-34 and the long barreled pZIIIn's. IMO. Plus you can buy a 1/3 more t34's with the same amount as you can buy 7 pZIII's... is it fair..? [ July 21, 2003, 07:22 AM: Message edited by: Major Jerkov ]
  9. Oh come'on, what a challenge the AI is when sending units piecemeal and without any form of logic... umm gj... Do just as good on the attack, that may be impressive if given +200 to the AI.
  10. properties-> settings-> display... Under display it will say something like this- 1. Super VGA 1024x768 @ 75 hz on RADEON SERIES 9500/9700 2. Super VGA 800x600 on RADEON SERIES 9500/9700 I dont know how your system is setup, and this is from 98 SE, so your results may vary. O_ops. 11. Gah... Have you reinstalled DirectX ?.* since you've reinstalled the cards and drivers? You probaly have, just an idea...
  12. Im a little curious as Ive never had problems with the text not showing. Is this a problem with the older ATI chipsets?
  13. What exactly is your malfunction? Ummm, I'm sure if you have to you could try the ATI home page... or drool all over your keyboard. The option is yours...
  14. I believe in BIOS you can change your IRQ's, if it is available for your version of BIOS(whatever that may be). Also, check in your systems page to verify if their is even a conflict... if their isnt I guess its still worth a shot.
  15. For a secondary monitor perhaps? As long as you have the #1 selected I dont see how it is a problem... do elaborate, how does the secondary conflict with the primary if you have the primary selected...? That is what the PRO series implies that you can have a secondary monitor... IIRC. [ July 19, 2003, 11:23 PM: Message edited by: Major Jerkov ]
  16. A couple things you may need to know. The ATI cards are picky cards. They work differently in different systems. I've run ATI cards from the pre 7200's right up to my current 9700pro and I also run Nvidia's. The ATI's have given me MUCH more problems and the 9700 is still not working as I hoped ( been in my Abit system over a year) And the big problem is the lack of support. You get a month or 2 of complimentary tech support from your first call and then you have to pay ALOT. Buying ATI cards means you'll basically be left out on your own to figure out how to get it to work and with it's notorious driver/hardware problems, you'll likey be sorry you got it. </font>
  17. Possibly. Go to control panel -> add/remove software -> ATI PCI Drivers(or whatever)... Or try removing them via the system page.
  18. Played 5-6 turns of "openingmoments" and HOLY SH1T! Huge map and very long turns, however, it appeals to me. Just when I view from farther than 6 or more its pretty choppy, I'm sure that is what is expected, though. Enjoying it, nonetheless... I'm in dread of when I will be fired upon!
  19. I really like the idea of this. Is their a walkthrough for getting started on a campaign, or something very similar? Could someone gimme a lil' push in the right direction? Please? I really enjoyed campaign missions in EF/EF2, and its the one thing I really miss...
  20. Hey chris, would you have to happen to have a level 7/8 top down on your current situation(just the map and current ops, not your whole spiel)? Its intriguing that you cant bring any other guns to bear and must cross several football fields to get infantry close enough. Assign one T34 one HMG, area fire, and cross the field with your infantry. If those HMG's got friends who are holding fire, waiting for the human wave, allocate mortars or other guns to surpress them. Sometimes you have to take a risk... I'd rather try than 30+ turns into the game have a loss due to inactivity. Or as fedoroff put it "Holding up the entire soviet army with a few HMG's..." Heh. Good stuff.
  21. Well, it wouldn't be necessary to make them easily KOable. These things are adjustable, you know. Plus, they would still retain all the other advantages they've gained in BB. Might even gain a few more that people have been crying out for these last few ages. Michael </font>
  22. If they were KO'-able... they would be considered more or less worthless once again, then we'd be back where we started...
  23. By double clicking a platoon HQ it will select all units associated with it... if box selecting is too much effort. Also, you really dont want to move in that uncoordinated of a fashion, do you? IE Moving a whole battalion with one mouse click... ewww. [ July 13, 2003, 07:04 AM: Message edited by: Major Jerkov ]
