  1. The Thompson animations are the same as those for the MP 40, Phil. Checked it in CMBN, CMFB and CM Italy. But it's not that important anyway. Thank you as always for taking the time to respond and trying to help.
  2. We had friends for diner, Phil. I will check that tomorrow.
  3. Okay, Phil, apparently I remember wrong. Doesn't matter. I just think holding the MP 40 at the barrel like that after a couple of bursts might burn your fingers rather nastily. Thank you for your answer.
  4. It's far easier than that. One fights for one's loved ones. I'm most of the time as annoyed as most people with my family and country, but I will tear the throat out of those who want to harm them with my bare teeth. Ukraine is not unique in that respect, they just know better than us spoiled Westerners, what it means to live under the Russian boot. I don't like your words of disdain, Haiduk, your country has nothing to complain about with regard to the West. We could have chosen for our own freedom, but we didn't.
  5. The music for CMRT is a bit too heavy for my taste. I wonder whether there are WMV files available? For CMBN I have British Grenadiers which is more to my liking but not suited for the Eastern front.
  6. I'm not sure but while playing I wondered whether somebody made a mod for the way soldiers hold their MP 40. Not sure of that. Does anybody know?
  7. I agree. I don't think this map is telling us much about the willingness to defend the freedom of a country, when under attack.
  8. I know, George, just kidding. As much as I enjoy the originals, you have no idea what I do to your scenarios later on sometimes...
  9. Would be interesting to see how things went with the Pz IV's replaced by Pz V's.
  10. Let's not forget thatt Kursk was in fact one big slaughter for the Russians, which only ended because the Germans had no reserves left to continue their offensive and had to withdraw divisions to other fronts, both inside and outside Russia.
  11. Interesting article, Dan, thanks. I hope the author is right.
  12. Okay, but Putin will find a way to make us pay for that big time. And God knows the bastard is good at that. Nobody will gain from that.
  13. Part of me wants to see Ukraine able to have long distance weapons, but I fear they not ony will be used against Crimea. The more the Russians continue with their terror attacks on civilian targets, the louder the call of the Ukrainian people will become to strike back at Moscow and other Russian cities. So better not to give Zelensky that option perhaps. Not yet at least. And without F-16s these missiles can't be used anyway. Not sure of that. Apart from the above little good will come from bombing Moscow, a couple of thousand dead or wounded Russians, some damage, both to buildings and the Ukrainian reputation and a road to escalation. As we know from ww2 it won't have much impact on the Russian will to fight. Not that they have a choice in it. All in all a wise German/US decision. For the moment. What I often ask myself is what will be the reaction of the West when Putin starts using tactical nukes? What can the West do more than is already happening? More sanctions, arms deliveries to Ukraine and more damage to Russia's reputation won't impress Putin. Any thoughts?
  14. Looking great, NPye. Also like your ideas, like rolled sleeves. I've tried to download your stuff via Dropbox, but there's nothing there. Could you give another link please? And it it possible to concentrate all your witchcraft into one mod?
  15. Me neither. The defensive battles of Hrs.Gr. Mitte deserve a lot more attention. Fought under impossible odds they are nevertheless worth studying more. Same goes for the defensive battles of the second half 0f 1943 and the first half of 1944. Superb screenies btw.
  16. It's quite welcome of course, but why has the Protze 70 truck been chosen to appear in CMRT? This truck was produced until 1941, if I'm correct and there can't have been many around anymore in 1944. As said, nice to have it, but a somewhat strange choice perhaps.
  17. Yes, that also happened at Kursk for example. Those German Panzer forces could have been much more effective while defending the retreat behind the Dnjepr. The only thing with defending and retreating is that you can't recover damaged or immobilized tanks, because you don't dominate the battlefield. Yes, the constant push to attack didn't do the Germans much good after 1943.
  18. I agree with you, George. The lack of proper time to train tank crews after 1943 does explain why the German tank divisions weren't the decisive factor on the battlefield anymore. A good example is the Hitleryouth division in Normandy which lost a lot of tanks because of badly prepared and badly executed attacks. Mainly because of the lack of fuel and ammo during the training period, which sealed the fate of many young tank crew members.
  19. Looks sensational. Imagine that in a Normandy or Arnhem scenario!
  20. How sweet it would be to see dutch F-16s shoot down Russian planes and bomb the hell out of their ground troops. Revenge is so much better than forgiving.
