  1. No no no! HERE is the song for the game: Toby Keith's "Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)"
  2. I don't have a whole lot of time for gaming, so it's pretty much: CM -- tactical Call of Duty -- extreme tactical Korsun Pocket/Battles in Normandy -- operational
  3. Excellent work, looks great with your 222s! Now who will be first to give us similarly weathered 251 HTs?
  4. I discovered a new sound file when my Greyhound got behind a Jagdpanzer IV and set it on fire, and the TC says "burn baby"!
  5. Wicky, these are outstanding, along with your snowy U.S. vehicles! Many thanks for your hard work, oh and we could use some more snowy German vehicles too...

  9. Arrived in Sacramento, CA yesterday. And the weather forecast is for rain this weekend...
  10. Hey thanks! Nice site btw, I'm looking forward to trying the "Elephants" scenario...
  11. Shermans now pack a bigger anti-armor punch. In CMBB, the 75mm L/38 gun had the following penetration stats using a APCBC round: 90/72/40 (100m) 83/66/38 (500m) The same gun in the demo Shermans (M4A1 and M4A3) now has these stats: 104/82/40 (100m) 96/76/38 (500m) So the Shermans now have a much better chance of killing a StuG (80mm front armor), and apparently, a theoretical chance of killing a Tiger I from the front.
  12. Hmm, I'll take that as a "no." But why wait for CMx2? Why not just fix it with a patch? Curiously, the modelling of the 75mm guns seems to be correct in the CMAK advertisement...
  13. You can tell whether the Grant is firing its 37mm or 75mm guns by the sound and by watching the ammo count. But when the 75mm gun fires, the recoil and smoke animation affect the 37mm gun, not the 75. Anyone else notice this?
  14. I had a turret jam once or twice in CMBB. It's worse than a gun hit, since you lose the co-axial MG as well. A very rare occurence.
  15. fwiw I'm playing the Italian scenario as American & have only captured the sole survivors of HMGs so far. The rest of the German units are fighting to the last man in most cases. Maybe I just drew a lot of fanatical defenders, who knows...
  16. If you area target a building with a tank, it will keep firing even after the building turns to rubble. In CMBB, the gun stops firing when the building collapses. I also agree with other observations that EFOW is "foggier." It's harder to locate enemy positions, and easier to lose them once located, than in CMBB. And is it my imagination or is it harder to dig defending units out of trenches and buildings? I'm playing the Italian scenario and have seen German squads stay put after being pounded by Shermans & small arms fire for turn after turn...
  17. Bjorn -- I'll be happy to send it to you when I get home tonight. Xerxes -- No pioneers, no mines, no nada. Just the simultaneous destruction of every small & medium building, everywhere on the map. [ September 03, 2003, 01:17 PM: Message edited by: shrek ]
  18. This was in "Clash of Titans II," a meeting engagement on a big map. So no, there were no mines or pioneers. Some of the affected buildings were hundreds of meters away from the target, including buildings behind my own lines. Gotta be a bug. I'm just glad we weren't playing a city scenario! 19. Panzerwerfer42 wrote: Unfortunately, the bug's still there in CMBB. I was playing a PBEM game when one of my Russian planes swooped down to attack a German AFV. Simultaneously, every small and medium building on the map suddenly exploded, and the few remaining large buildings looked like they took damage. Luckily we didn't have units in the buildings, but this could have wrecked the whole game if one side or the other suddenly took a lot of casualties from roofs falling in. We can send the file to BFC if they want to look into it.
  20. I looked at the calendar and noted that the CMBB demo came out a year ago today! Ahh the memories, I remember it like it was yesterday -- I had to work late that night and couldn't wait to come home & download it. And then there was an amazing harmonic convergence on this forum with hundreds & hundreds of people playing and dissecting the same three scenarios over and over and over again for weeks, like a frog in biology class. And then there was the begging for a few more "demo" scenarios to tide them over, complaints about "bugs" and "biggest dissapointments" with the demo, and then weeks of whining about why they had to wait a few more weeks to get the real deal in late September. What a difference a year makes. So...when's the CMAK demo coming out?
  21. Great work, many thanks! [ August 07, 2003, 02:26 PM: Message edited by: shrek ]
  22. I dredged this old thread up 'cause I'm playing "Clash of Titans II" as Russians, and I just had two of these beasts unload their 380mm love packages at my units. Does a reload time of three minutes still sound about right? Just want to know when they’ll be making their next appearance so we can take the proper um, "precautions." With a ridiculously low muzzle velocity of 300m/sec, you can see it coming at you for several seconds in slow-motion – tank commanders seem to be mesmerized & don't even bother to button up as their doom approaches. An amazing sight to behold. btw, anyone successfully deal with the Sturmtigers in this scenario? I'd be interested to hear your warstories. [ August 07, 2003, 01:51 PM: Message edited by: shrek ]
  23. Andrew, excellent work as always -- and just in time for a "Battle of Minors" scenario I'm PBEMing!
