It's generally a decent bunch of folks hereabouts, not near as pleasant and polite over in the General Discussion Forum, not that not decent folks, it's just a more argumentative place. I'm running both CmBB/CMBO with a P4 1.8, GForce3 very smoothly, sounds like driver issues to me, oops..w/AA on 4X KC

Well it should run fine in a G4 w/30.82 or 30.87 drivers. There has been reported success with higher drivers but these seem to be the most stable for now, one nore question though, is it 4X or 8X AGP? KC

Ph, Battlefront has announced that there will be a CMBO/CMBB bundle pack sold through retail later this go here I'm guessing that your PC is not underpowered, maybe by the time this comes out a lot of these issues will be resolved. KC

Ady, Your buying individual units(I guess you know that ) while your able to buy AFV *platoons*, this will give you a HQ. There is a toggle button visible when armor is selected, mess around there 'til the platoon/squad? notice appears. As a bonus, they just got cheaper. KC I just checked 'cause I couldn't remember exactly where that toggle button popped up. Tom, I went without for the first year and a half and then I decided to try it mainly for CMBB's *seek hull down* command. Well it worked so well for that function that I now have all the mods. As a plus, it has aided me in finding those subtle dips that my troops seen to need far to often and I eventually found myself using them a reference for distances i.e. advance, run, assault etc. My guys are less tired now before they die. Give it a try, I'll bet you a game that you will end up with it as a permanent fixture. KC

Ohhh boy.. I'm not familiar with ATI cards so I really can't help much. While reading through here I've noticed that there seems to be real issues with a lot of people upgrading, try a search for DirectX 9 issues, best I can do. Luck, KC

NVidia is your next choice. Which one depends upon your price range, I'm running a MSI G3 Ti200 with, IMHO, great results, any one after that I'm sure will do the job nicely. You should do a search, or just scroll dowm this page, you'll find that there are issuses with the latest and greatest NVidias. KC

Lee, I suggest you play with at least full fog of war. Don't forget, your opponent sees what you see! I'm not sure how long you've been playing(your member # indicates longer than me) but if you just stick with it(I had to), the tactics will start making more sense. If you want to play someone who has yet to win a PBEM game, drop me a line w/setup, maybe I'll improve my win/loss stats. KC

I don't want to jump all over this but: CMmods is there and it is free . We had an opportunity to contribute to it's growth(speed?) through contributions, we declined... COG is doing a helluva job, for free , to slam it is totally unfair, unless of course, you are willing to take it over and do a better job. And Matt has stated more than once that if he had his druthers, there would be fewer forums long before than would be more. Honestly not trying to sound harsh, I'm just trying to ward off/delay the day that COG throws in the towel 'cause his site has become to demanding upon his time. KC

Nuku, This is not meant to be rude, but you really should do a search. This has been discussed at length in a couple of earlier(much) threads. Going by memory, there seemed to 2 schools of thought(as always ), some for/some against. Once I developed a workable process utililizing the *hull down* command I use it constantly now.
