  2. Sounds like a disc issue. Go to a chiropractor, one who specializes in low back pain. KC
  3. Mord, I *think* it works best(only?) when you use a hosting like Image shack , or something similar. KC
  4. If your having this new unit custom built and want to use the 5200, just take it to your builder and ask them to install the card and the drivers of your choice. The i875 chipset is the pinnacle of the last generation motherboard technology for intel based CPUs. It still works very well for most PC requirements today. If your primary use of your PC is to play CM, go with the i865 chipset and save enough money to upgrade your vid card if you want. Btw., chipset and video card are two different animals. Your 5200 will work well with the i875 chipset, a 5900XT will work better. KC

  6. Thanks for the input. The MSI card is appox. 1/2 the price of an Asus and I've heard good things, so..... I'm using the computer more and more for work so(I should have mentioned this before) I'm looking for more app. speed than 3D crunching. The Ti 4--- is just because I want to. I will go to a brand name 400PSU just to be on the safe side. So far you've confirmed most of my suspicions. Err,..what about memory? I'm presently running with 512 DDR on XP Home w/Office suite loaded. Thanks again. KC
  7. I'm putting together a budget/plan for a major upgrade(for me) and I would like some "real life, I've done that" input if anyone is willing to share theirs. I'm keepign my WD SE hardrive, Sony DVD burner etc. I'm going with a new motherboard(MSI 865PE NEO2-PFS Platinum) and Cpu(Pentium 4-3.0E GHz Prescott). I'm looking for a good (new) G4 T4000 series vid card without much luck so far. I do not play Half-life anything or games similar to it, so I really don't think I need much more. My concern is the power supply and cooling. My thought for power is a generic 350W PSU and relying solely on the supplied fans for cooling. Am I missing anything? KC
  8. Try going into your CMAK file, find and delete "Combat Mission AK Pref" icon. When you restart the game it should ask you which screen resolution you wish to play in. Scroll 'til you find the one you want. KC
  9. Here is a good one. imageshack . Even I figured it out. KC
  10. WW, Thanks, I've been watching their site. For just over a 100 bucks more I can get the 5900XT which, IMO, is the best bang for my buck. It may be time for a complete upgrade soon anyways. For $54.00 US + shippimg the Chaintec was a helluva buy though, as j2d said, "to good to be true" I guess. Thanks guys, KC
  11. They wanted $22.00, but, the buggers e-mailed me back later saying that card had sold out prior to their processing my order. grrrr To make matters worse they tried to upsell me to another, more expensive, card. KC
  12. Thanks Redwolf, just ordered one to replace the trusty G3 Ti200. I'd given up on finding one btw. KC
  13. Take care of her and yourself Todd. Fight the battle! KC
  14. Watch for the red command lines. The closest HQ will be in command of a weapons team, except(there is always one exception) when the HQ w/two stars(command bonus) is further away yet has stronger command traits. It's easiest just to watch for the red command lines, except........just kidding. Watch for the command lines and you'll be o'k. KC edited 'cause of poor typing skills.
  15. Um.....err.....when I want a complete platoon to do something I merely "double click" the Platoon HQ, the entire platoon becomes highlited, and your give the "one" command. Works for me. KC </font>

  17. The command lines are red in the game. It sounds as if you may have a Company HQ or Battalion HQ standing closer to those squads who will not react to the Platoon HQ's command. Double click on the Platoon HQ(all his squads should be highlighted, now check closely for another commander of higher rank standing near. There is a built in delay time built into the game for troops, AFV.s etc. of different ranks. For example, a "crack" squad will react to commands faster than a "veteren" squad, which reacts faster than a "regular" squad and so on down the experience line. Go to the "Tips and Tricks" section of the forum, there is a wealth of information available there. Don't give up, it's a wonderful wargame. KC
  18. Yup, and the "wandering, looking for their original HQ" phenomenon is not that prevailent actually. Usually by the time I "forget" that the Co.HQ has his own platoon of specialists I'm in the thick of things and am down to giving the individual squads specific commands(which means, I once again am scrambling just to stay alive! ) KC
  19. SATaylor. Head over to the "Tips" forum, a wealth of info avaiable there. KC
  20. Well...how 'bout that, no wonder I've had guys take off in a trot for no('til now) explainable reason. I stand corrected, thank you. KC
  21. Col. Lee; As an example, the cards deal you a company of Panzergrenadier and a platoon of Pioneers. You notice a great spot on your right flank to set up an ambush, but, you want a special mixed unit to do the damage. You select one rifle squad, one Pioneer squad, a LMG etc. When you put the selected forces near the Co. HQ they all have the "red" command line. If, for some unforeseen reason any of the chosen(orphaned) squads are no longer under the Co.HQ command they will revert to a "black" out of command line to their original platoon HQ. If you do not notice this and you "double click" their original platoon HQ and give an "advance" command(or whatever) to the entire platoon, and that "black" line extends all the way across the map to the distant "orphaned" squad, that "orphaned" squad you worked so diligently to get into position, will follow the command given and jump up and "advance" along with the rest of their original platoon. Hope this is clear enough, KC
