Thanks Ike and glad to hear you've got it up and running
-
Hi Zinfandel, Apologies for the frustration but this is a difficult one from our end as well. For example, the game does work as advertised for the Windows system, it is unfortunately 3rd party software installed on your system that is interfering with the correct function of the game, so in fairness that is a difficult one for us to deal with. The game does not contain any viruses but your software thinks it *might* be a virus. How fair is that for us, the software developer/publisher, as well? But that being said we can certainly do our best to help you get the game up and running. On my end, I am also running AVG and while it did complain all I had to do was to add the Strategic Command GOLD installation folder to the exceptions list. To do this open your AVG User Interface and go to Tools->Advanced Settings and then click on Anti-Virus->Resident Shield->Exceptions. From here you will see a chart where you can add files or folders. I would suggest to click on 'Add Path' and add the entire path for the GOLD installation directory. That did the trick on my end and hopefully that will do it for you as well and if not please let us know and we can go from there. Hubert

v1.07 and Excalibur Publishing version
Hubert Cater replied to Wolfe 1759's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Hi Wolfe, We've looked at this more closely and there is no need to patch to v1.07 to run GOLD, v1.06 will be fine Hubert -
Demo should be available soon as well

Couple of Gold questions
Hubert Cater replied to david12345's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Hi Dave, 1. Unfortunately no as this was a game engine change we introduced a while back. 2. I believe v1.06 may still work, I would suggest to try it and if it doesn't then you'll need to upgrade to v1.07. -
Strating game and Game Purchases
Hubert Cater replied to huhr's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Hi Huhr, Yes you'll be able to reinstall as you upgrade your computers so long as you unlicense the game from the old computer before you install on the new one. Two licenses just means you can have it installed on two different computers at the same time, it does not however limit the number of installations overall, i.e. from computer to computer as you move the game from one system to another and so on. But if you ever do have a problem with the licenses, computer crash or something similar you just have to let us know and we can get you back up and running easily enough via the Battlefront Helpdesk. I hope this helps, Hubert -
New Features

Ivanov, I believe if you set the Arty to 'Silent' mode it will not perform the counter battery fire as desired. -
Hi Syagrius, Sorry for getting back to this one so late as I was in over my head with the Global Conflict GOLD release... I've just looked at the scripts and they essentially try and mimic exactly what we have in Global Conflict, i.e. the increases are of amounts that are exactly the same and with the idea that they are dependent on very similar key border positions as well as looking for similar numbers of units. From what I can tell the Manual is correct in terms of how the scripts are written as well and the only thing I can think of is that perhaps you didn't have the units in the correct positions, or there is a bug in the scripts. Additionally can you tell me what the Soviet readiness was at right before you moved your units in to assault position. The reason I ask is that after 1 turn from both sides, i.e. before you get to play your next turn, the Soviet readiness as a worst case scenario could jump 20% and as a best case scenario only 10%. If you happen to have any saved turns that you can show me where you think the Soviet readiness is jumping too quickly I'd be happy to take a look as well. Send to support@furysoftware.com Hubert

It was indeed acting like a 75% penalty and that was the problem... a bit of incorrect math on my end in implementing the formula.
-
Hi Amadeus, Thanks for the report and it looks like when we added when we made the 'Attack across a river penalty' editable in the Editor, the subsequent adjustment to the combat formula was done incorrectly. This will be fixed. Hubert

Ai is waaaay too slow
Hubert Cater replied to Cunctator's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Thanks, this should help and I think we might be able to balance this or at least make it more risky to the Axis player should they decide to invade as early as 1940 -
E-mail problems
Hubert Cater replied to AZGungHo's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
Are you both using the same version? For example, the latest is v1.03.1 but perhaps one or the other is using the older version which is v1.03? I would suggest that you both move to the latest version and then it should work fine. -
Ai is waaaay too slow
Hubert Cater replied to Cunctator's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Thanks SeaMonkey, and another quick question as this will help me provide a reasonable counter balance... what do you do or what happens with Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. Have they joined you or were you forced to declare war and conquer them? -
Ai is waaaay too slow
Hubert Cater replied to Cunctator's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Hi SeaMonkey, Interesting strategy and if I can ask, had you captured France before you started this early 1940 Barbarossa? Hubert -
I can confirm that this should be fixed for the v1.04 patch but it is unfortunately not something I can introduce into another hotfix as current saved games are not compatible with the latest changes on my end. As for the ETA on v1.04, let me talk to Bill and see where we are at as I believe we are still testing some of the latest changes.

Ai is waaaay too slow
Hubert Cater replied to Cunctator's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Hi Cunctator, With the new GOLD expansion for Global Conflict, the AI will be up to 5 times faster as we've managed to improve the AI logic quite a bit Hubert -
Rules of thumb for combat damage?
Hubert Cater replied to mgdpublic's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Please take a look at your installation directory for the game and from there in the 'Extras\Docs' folder. For example, it might look something like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefront\Strategic Command WWII Global Conflict\Extras\Docs Also, if you can tell us for which game you are playing that might help as well as some of the older games do not come with this file. I'd say so

Dumb question - Manual
Hubert Cater replied to trooper76's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Sorry about that trooper76, it does look like we forgot to include the Manual for the GG build, please send me an email at support@furysoftware.com and I'll be happy to forward it to you. Hubert -
1948 World At War
Hubert Cater replied to crispy131313's topic in Strategic Command - GLOBAL CONFLICT
Glad to hear it and we are still making adjustments so nothing is finalized just yet but for now there will only be 6 majors despite the idea that 8 are possible. There are a few reasons for this but since Germany and Japan start out surrendered with likely only Germany playing a minor role if liberated there is not much of a reason to set either of them as a major but I will be consulting with Robert on this one a bit more to make sure. Robert has done a fantastic job with this campaign so I think you'll really like it and for Majors here is what we currently have: UK France USA USSR Nationalist China Communist China With notable countries like Germany, Japan, and Italy being minors for this campaign.
