  1. Okay, so this is frustrating as hell. I have several mods I'm testing (each will eventually have their own individual Mod Tag). So, say I have 7 variants of the Canadian uniform and I test them in the engine. smod_british_m37_uniform, smod_british_m37_uniform 2, smod_british_m37_uniform 3, etc... 1, 5, 6 & 7, vehicle and both officers don't show up. So, I add [canadian] to the end of each file... 5, 6 & 7 don't show up. I see that I have to have the hard-coded Mod Tag "[canadian]" for the canadian units (which is annoying) but why are 5-7 not showing up? Also, can there be 2 separate mod conditions for a file? I mean there is the hard-coded [canadian] mod tag but I want to have a unit-specific tag as well. What is the nomenclature for this? Would it be, for example: smod_british_m37_uniform [canadian, cdn_2id_esr]? And, if not, then how do I circumvent the hard-coded mod tag? DC
  2. Back before Christmas, I created a new version of the Sherman Vc Firefly skins to be compatible with Aris' mods. I am still adding proper decals (it's actually the last CW vehicle I have to do). I plan to release the comprehensive mod once I finish, but I might be able to update the Firefly only on a shorter timetable if there's some demand.
  3. Some of the mods might work...the worn and muddy versions of Aris' vehicles might fit in okay. As for markings, they will be completely different depending on the time-period, and even the late war will have different formation markings at least. I'm thinking of looking at doing the CW markings for the Italian Theatre in the new year...just need to finish what I started with CMBN first.
  4. Okay, I think I have a solution to my issue. I located .mdr files in the recent CMFI release that seem to fix the model issue when applied to CMBN. Now back to the modding board...
  5. I think that's the original model. In the normandy v401.brz, there is a folder named "sherman vc firefly reworked cmbn". Inside this folder are updated skins for a regular and muddy version of the Firefly. This skin has some differences from the original CMBN Firefly (double rear hatches, reworked rear deck, and a few other minor differences); the turret also has a few changes but most are minor. There are also normal maps for these skins. I would assume that since this is the last numerical BRZ file, this should be the version that gets utilized by the engine (barring any files in the Z folder). I have been doing a lot of work with vehicle skins and even created an updated version of Aris' Firefly to match the 'reworked' Firefly. Then I took a closer look at the images in the game engine and it is obvious that the model files haven't been updated (the issues I mentioned above). I can't locate any updated .MDR files for this reworked Firefly. Why would Battlefront go to the trouble of creating updated Firefly skins/normal maps (that are included in an official release) but not include the updates to the actual model? Do the updated model files exist? If so, can we download them?
  6. I've been modifying & modding all of the CW vehicles that Aris originally worked on and had left the Firefly until the end, when I noticed what I think is a problem with the model for the Sherman Vc Firefly. The latest CMBN .brz file (v401) has a reworked Firefly with skins and normal maps but I think the model is the same old version. If you look at the rear of the vehicle, which has the double rear doors for the reworked Firefly, the door hinges from the original model (single rear door) are visible through the skin. Also, there are some additional hull protrusions coming out of the places where the newer, double door hinges are located. Was there a fix released for this model somewhere?

  8. Wow...I didn't think upper/lower case would make such an issue but it does...sometimes the simplest things, eh. So, I found out it only needs to be lower case in the imported txt file...the tag on each bmp can have upper case letters (thankfully, because I'm 80% though modding Normandy and that would be a HUGE PITA to correct). Also discovered that the 1st tag called seems to have precedence over subsequent tags in the same txt file. In my above example, the game displayed the UK_VIIICorps_2HC file for the hull and the UK_VIIICorps_2HC_A file for the turret (which means that with some creative ordering in the txt file, I can basically layer the mods to my liking). Thanks...this was extremely helpful.
  9. Looking for some advice... I thought I had this straight in my head....but I can't get the ModTag textures to show. So, to test I created a bare bones scenario in CMBN with a couple of troops of Staghounds. I have created several mod variations: staghound-hull [UK_VIIICorps_2HC] staghound-hull [UK_VIIICorps_2HC_A] staghound-hull [UK_VIIICorps_2HC_C] staghound-turret [UK_VIIICorps_2HC_A] staghound-turret [UK_VIIICorps_2HC_C] I created a txt file with the tags: UK_VIIICorps_2HC UK_VIIICorps_2HC_A UK_VIIICorps_2HC_C which I imported into the Scenario and saved. When I ran the scenario, I don't see any of the textures and it is unmodded. I also tried with a base Staghound mod in my Z folder and it shows up but the ModTag textures never do. I have to be missing something simple here, right? (Initially I wanted to see which modtag call would take precedence...the first in the txt file or the last...but none worked....so I tried only a single tag in the txt file and that didn't work either). Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
  10. Hey Bootie, That email never came through...I'm guessing you've been pretty busy with other stuff lately. If you (or anyone) could toss these 4 files onto a Dropbox for me, that would be awesome. DC_21AG_3Div_8InfBde DC_21AG_53Div_71InfBde DC_21AG_53Div_158InfBde DC_21AG_53Div_160InfBde
  11. Unfortunately, something seems to be not working, as the folder is empty... As far as I can tell, it should work but it isn't for some reason.
  12. I'll look again tonight...I appreciate your efforts to help.
  13. There is a 3-mission campaign out there called "Welcome to Sicily" that features: No 40 RM Commado elements of 51st (Highland) Division 50th Royal Tank Regt 2nd SAS Regiment 1st Para, 1st Airborne Division Three Rivers Regt, 1st Cdn Tank Bde Royal Canadian Regiment, 1st CdnID
  14. Hmm, the email never appeared at my end...I think they may have been to big for my mail.
  15. I assume Bootie is on the Forum (I've been away for a long while). I have recovered most of them, though 5 of my files ended up being corrupted. I need to get copies of: DC_21AG_3Div_8InfBde DC_21AG_43Div_130InfBde DC_21AG_53Div_71InfBde DC_21AG_53Div_158InfBde DC_21AG_53Div_160InfBde
  16. They will eventually be available again at CMMODS IV, right? I'd be more than happy right now with just a filename list, then I can check against what I still have...
  17. Hey guys, This message is for anyone that might have downloaded my original mod way back. I seem to have lost a portion of my archives. I'm wondering (and hoping) that someone out there might still have the zip files I once put on the Repository....and might be willing to put them in a dropbox so I can fill in the holes in my archive. I will thank anyone who can help in advance. DC
  18. I haven't tried it, but I think my mods would work with a little renaming....there won't be any specific Normal Maps for the individual insignia, so just use the default normal map.
  19. Well, I don't think think I 'won' exactly, since this was an extremely difficult objective for Mord. In real life, the Germans paid a high cost for trying to cross the Bridge on the 18th, so this battle resembles that to a degree. I think that with a little more time (and lots more smoke), the fighting could have ended up house-to-house.
