You must think that us "Colonials" need to work on our spelling..... How do you spell color agian? Is it colour or color?
2.
quote:
Originally posted by Slapdragon: What the fruck is squirking?

Well, I guess it is like....squirt, spew, spray, spurt, ect... for a guy who is to dependent on his spell-checker.
3. I once spent a summer in Perth, too hot if ya ask me. Nice people though... BTW what is the max effective range at a point target on the Ma-duece? What about at a area target, and what is the specs for head space and timing? ***I like to edit*** [ 10-03-2001: Message edited by: Tread Head ]
4. I want a Mod that has dead cows in it. Cows with stiff legs and utters! Ya know a cow that squirks "red" blood (SPR)when shot. [ 10-03-2001: Message edited by: Tread Head ]
5. I must admit the Jagdpanther is my baby As a kid my uncle bought me a huge model of one while he was in Korea. This model even had a battery operated option. You could install a little electric motor with a wire control. Forward and back. I loved it. Use to run over tons of those little army men. The scale between the men and the tank was way off, but that made the Jag even seem cooler! I confess, I buy one every chance I get. Once I took out 6 sermans with one in a few turns in a IP game. Only to be KO'ed by a Zook later! Long live the best overall TD of the war!
6. I am itching to get into a tournament… Any one hosting one soon? If yes, sign me up! (German please ) Thanks
7. How about a option in set-up to "lock" the camera angle at 1 for the game. It would auto unlock at the end of the game so you could check out the battlefield. I play this way vs. AI a lot. The lock would make sure no one was peeking... Maybe have radio messages scroll across top left corner (like in a Ip game) to let you know your troops have had contact. You could then switch to that unit to see what he sees. I hate the 90 foot General! Just a idea, My search crashed, so try not to flame if this is a old topic... Thx
8. maybe this is a dumb question....oh-well once you split a squad how do you put back together? can you add other units to it or piece together a unit from other small units? Just wondering Thx
9. Thank-you all for the non-critical responces. Yes,(if my wife gives me the money  )will be getting CMBB. I will support BTS I just hope and pray it is not YEARS before a CMBO 2.0 comes out..... I am still waiting for Disney to make a Tron 2.0! So, will the Russian doctrine of buttonning up tanks in battle be modeled? Hey, how about a US civil war game with this engine? I would rather wait a year for Italy and Rommel in the sand and have a updated CMBO sooner, anyone agree? [ 09-25-2001: Message edited by: Tread Head ] [ 09-25-2001: Message edited by: Tread Head ]
10. Just a question for all of us who have no real war-gamming interest in the mighty Russian front. I know and understand the relevance of the eastern front (even my tag jokes about it)but it just does not make me want to stay up hours glued to my computer. A lot of us prefer the west and what CMBO has to offer. With all the hype of CMBB going on here, it makes one fear the future of CMBO. Will there no longer be debates on the Brits and their infantry, no more jokes about Polish paratroopers, no more 101st AB? What to do? Yes the hordes of buttoned-up T-34’s (BTW I wonder if buttoned T-34’s will be modeled?) and divisions of expendable infantry do not appeal to all of us. This is a call to BTS from all of us CMBO fans, do not let the Western Front die. I and others will gladly pay for a CMBO with the new engine and updates.. Post here loyal "Western Fronters"! As Ben Franklin once said... If we don't all stand together we will surly all hang separately [ 09-25-2001: Message edited by: Tread Head ]
11.
quote:
Originally posted by SlowMotion: [QB]So if there's no agreement on what's considered gamey and thus people have to negotiate, has anybody or some web site collected a list of things that might be used as a starting point? I know that Rugged Defense has some rules (Panther76 etc.), but anything else? QB]

Ahhhh...... this is what I am talking about. I guess i understand your nick BTW the other rule set have nothing to do with "gamey" issues, they are just there to prevent Big-Cat Vs. Jumbo fights every game.
12. What about burning empty buildings? I am not sure....but I do know this, 1. Recon by fire. Did it for real in the Tank core, ya might waste some ammo but heck, it works great once in a while. Many a Jap were found and burnt doing this. 2. Defense. If I can burn a building in some worthless French town to better protect my men, why not? If I have a flammepanzer just siting around why not use it? what about woods? They might light a little easy in CM, but as long as it is not a silly case, burning a possible weak spot in your defense perm. is not Gamey IMO. Clear Abuse: burning V locations, ... Just pretend it contains something vital to the war effort. BUT if the bad-guys were hanging out in or near the VL don't think I won't torch it. So, I say no rules on flames other then not being allowed to torch a empty VL. [ 09-22-2001: Message edited by: Tread Head ]
13. My good German friend, I do realize all of what you so smartly wrote. I guess you fail to understand the reason for the post. Not everyone agrees on what is "gamey". I would like to avoid a MID-GAME conflict. EX: Turn 14.... I know he has a MG in a light building near the middle of the map. I ever so secretly sneak my Sdkfz 7/2 up to a spot a good ways away but with a clear view of the house. I open fire, and before ya know it I have one pissed of PBEM email in my inbox. "that was the most "gamey" move, yata yata yata!" IMO, that is fine, hey if I had a 7/1 in the area Heck yes I would use it, and I think it is not at all "gamey", but my partner quits the game and leave me with a wased couple of weeks in a PBEM. Ya understand? Do ya sprekekin me Deutch?
14.
quote:
Originally posted by Seanachai: Gamey? You want to know what's Gamey?! You can't handle what's Gamey, Lad! Your post is wonderful. You've just stood on one toe, balancing like a seal with a conundrum on its nose, and asked all the peoples of the World to define religion. If you survive the definitions, explanations, disclaimers, rebuttals, and jihads, I imagine we could have you stuffed and mounted as a waypost indicating in which direction madness lies. Mind, I think pretty much everyone is a useless, gamey, 'unfit for the Peng Challenge Thread' pillock. But you could provide the rule that proves the exceptions...

I am not sure if that is a cut-down or a compliment.... Do you speak English? So, did you want to contribute or just poke fun?
15. I agree on driving in reverse "Gamey" Using Sdfz 7/1 & /2, well, may cause debate Rushing a MG w/ SMG, depends on situation I think a lot of the "Gamey" rules may not be gamey in some situations, you have to work with what you have, right?
16. Hello, I am a so-called "newbie" and have a question. First off, the search funtion did not work for me before you preach a sermon at me. What are the CM "gamey" tactics? I would hate to offend a PBEM or IP and not know it. I wonder is there a agreed upon list? It seems IMO that many of you disagree. I have heard of and used the Panzer76 rules and others but is there a "gamey" rule set posted anywhere on the web? I know there are ANYTHING goes games and tournys but, has there been an attempt to catalog and define all the "gamey" rules so that players can decide on a "gamey" rule set pre-game? There seems to be dozens of "gamey" things one can do. Sure BTS is maybe fixing CMBB but what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? CMBO will not go on the shelf for all of us once CMBB comes out. Maybe BTS will re-nigg and allow a new patch to fix all these concerns in the future. So, maybe some of you experts can post here with what you consider "gamey" and if no one counter post someone could compile the list and draw up a rule set and post it at one of the many CM sites. Post away!
17. I laugh when ever I hear a "Vet" claim they went anything faster then 40 mph in a Abrams or any other MBT for that matter. Maybe in Detroit at the track! Brand new with good gas maybe, but not the beat up, ole service tanks the army has. HA! 7 years, notta once. Heck, going down a step, paved, un-curvy hill ya might get past 45, but I doubt it. Vibrate your brains out. All your gear starts falling off the tank, saddle bolts flying through the air! Hey, the gauge in the tank is way off so don't listen to your driver. BTW going 40 cross country is hauling butt! I dare say not many gunners could track you and forget about firing, the Stab. won't work. IMO btw!
18. I might be a "lurker" by default. I never have anything smart or witty enough to say... I just enjoy reading all you other History god's, flammers, Peng-wannabies, and newbies post. Gives me something to do during my night job.
