1. When I try to play a IP game, the bottom of my screen is black, I cannot read commands. Also the orders are just one letter....? Other then that the game works.... Is it a Mod? I uploaded some today....
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: I just noticed something last night. I was looking at the British vehicles and noticed that they don't have markings like the other country's. Is there a reason for this? Seems odd to me so thought I'd ask. Anyone care to comment and explain.

You mean like a bull's-eye?
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Slapdragon: Gunners on the ground could still run through a lot of ammo. Using more ammo for less effect is a sign of green troops.

Sure Green troops and trigger happy tankers!
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by Germanboy: Regarding happyness being a 200-round squeeze - in WW2 this would have led to your MG being unusable in a very short time, and to ammo cook-off (not necessarily in that order). Tankers still did it (not having to carry the ammo seems to encourage that ) though.

I tell you what, a 50 cal can run through a 100 rd belt with ease. If the head space and timing are set right. You are right about wasting ammo though. Being on a tank had pro's, we carried plenty of Ammo! Happyness is a 100 rd. belt and one solid trigge squeeeeeeese!
 5. FIRE MISSION! shell He Fuse Vt Charge 3 Deflection 2344 Quadrant 456 FIRE! or TANK! Crap! Where? 2 o clock! Target! Set set set set set Fire!
 6. One of you Vets should post a glossary of all the terms used here. Not the Military ones (Those are easy) but the CM ones and the Chat ones. Hey I have no idea what some of you are talking about... Give a guy a break.
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by MoatnGator: Boy did I get rolled on valley of trouble.

I have had the Demo for a month, my wife just let me buy the CD (still waiting) I must of played the valley sen. a million times! I luv playing the Germans, I give the AI a 100% bonus on men and full bonus on morale. Makes for a fun game. PLACEMENT PLACEMENT PLACEMENT! If I set up my Jerries right I can hand it pretty good to the Yanks. My MG pillbox had over 200 kills! hehehehe, silly AI! Can't wait to play with some Vets, the best way to learn is to get smashed a few times by a vet.
 8. I have a t-shirt I bought while serving a tour in Korea, it has a picture of a M60 on it. Under the 60 it says "Happiness is a 200 round belt and one solid trigger squeeze!" A typical 50 cal. burst after you have walked your tracers onto the target is about 15-20 rounds. The manual may say less but that is what we did off of our tanks. Trust me that ammo goes quick. When there are crunchies around you have to conserve ammo, you have to expose yourself on a Abrams to reload your 50.
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Colonel_Deadmarsh: Okay, listen to what you're mother told you and stay away from the Peng thread. Trust me, it's for your own good.

Mr. Deadmarsh, I served 7 years in U.S. Armor.... I can talk and take smack with the best of them. Thanks for the advice though.
 10. So what are the "classic" scenarios I should get? Any good ones out there I must have?
 11. Thanks, sounds like a good start.... Boy I am sick of playing that Demo, my wife finally let me have the cash to order the real deal! Bless her heart. If I play valley of trouble one more time I'll start having nightmares of German ambushes! I got bored today so I played as the Kruats and put the AI at max exper and 100% men bonus, that was kinda of fun. My MG buker had almost 200 kills, my lone panther took out 4 shermans and a panzercheck in the church took out 3 more shermans. I put that MG bunker in between the first two two story buildings facing the road, the stupid AI kept on running out in front of it, the Shermans couldn't find it to knock it out and when they came from behind it my check took them out! great battle, kinda of gamey but fun. Boy when you up the men bonus for the Americans it sure gives them a lot of ammo and smoke!
 12. I just ordered my copy Monday. I understand what MOD are and player made scenarios are but I am a little confused on what CMMOs are and the winter * thing…. Also is there a particular sequence of things I should do once I get my copy? I know I should install the patch and I can D/L any scenarios offline and then simply place them into the correct folder. So for the MODS do I just copy them into the BMP folder and let them right over the original bmp? Are there any particular MODS I should upload first? I have a nice (fast) computer, so what is the deal with all the High-Res vs. Low-Res debate? I should just use the High Res stuff right? Forgive my greeness! Any and or all advice will be nice, thanks
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by Panzer Leader: God, that Merkava is a work of ART!

Well, I have played a war game or few with the Big M while I served. Any tank that can launch morter rounds, crap crunchies out of its butt, and move almost as fast as me..... Scares me.
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by elalamein: Maybe because I am British and thus possibly considered old fashioned but parade is important.

Amen brother! You tell them, I got your back!
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Peter Cairns: If someone had the full copy and could make it work, they could set up a web site where for a fee they would model peoples homes ( or offices or ex-wives houses) for people to import into CM. Peter.

The White house! or a Mcdonalds!
 16. The key to armor victory is finding the enemy first. Ask the Russian who rolled into battle buttoned up, what it cost him....Many a burning '34' to that error, eh? [ 08-26-2001: Message edited by: Tread Head ]
