2.
quote:
Originally posted by Hanns: Sorry to sound like a City Pages bar guide but I do live in downtown and know it quite well.

15th & Portland here. Downtown to the marrow. I realize I'm an unwashed infidel in the garden, but I had to throw on the BioHazard suit and wade in here when i caught wind of this Minneapolitan Muster. Perhaps the Loring would be too reminiscent of the Parisian sewers. Not that I've been invited or anything - I just can't believe that the Olde and Incontinent Ones© will actually stop posting long enough to assume Humanoid forms...
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Erroneous Chef Sakai: simple

A good read Sgt Steiner. Always nice to hear from a primary source. Although Tin Chafed Saké has demonstrated his overwhelming erudition with such dizzying precision that I'm left wondering why one would even bother to interview veterans when a scholar of his calibre is amongst us...
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by AndrewTF: Afrika Korps and British desert uniforms.

I'd love to use your uniform mods in the desert! PLease give us some North African togs, Andrew. [ 10-11-2001: Message edited by: Fairbairn-Sykes Trench Knife ]
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Tanks a Lot: I think I got it now. A new metal door in the back and sandbags in the front.

That metal door with grease & soot smudges is excellent! I can't wait to rip it off the hinges with gammon bombs...
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Cubbies Phan: You misread.

Actually, i'm well aware that he's planning some jeeps, I was just using that thread to illustrate that Gordon says he doesn't know of any Archer mods on the horizon, so,we should petition one of these Mod Gurus to design an Archer.
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by Pascal DI FOLCO: My wish list is different :...but I would add all Brit tanks : Cromwell, Churchills, Challenger, Archer...

May I direct your attention to Gordon's statements concerning the Archer... We need to petition him for a "full monty" Archer mod. This Panzer killer has gone unmodded for too long, compatriots!
 8.
quote:
Originally posted by Michael emrys: Someone else replied that he thought a +1 bonus was equivalent to raising the squad to the next experience level and a +2 to raising it two levels.

The manual does not explicitly state this... Has BTS ever addressed it? How would one prove this? I mean, it would be a nice feature to take advantage of - if true. Although, I guess one already does, to some extent, if he maintains C&C and delegates platoons' missions based upon leadership bonuses such as stealth & combat skill.
 9. Quantitatively, how does shot accuracy (specifically with PIATS, 'Zooks or Schrecks) benefit from a combat bonus? The manual states that the to-hit chance will increase... By what measure? If my 'Zook team is near my Coy HQ[+2 combat] will their shots be 50% more sure?
 10. i think the sloped embrasure with sandbags inside will look great. just to be a bit more demanding... a subdued foliage covered version? [ 10-10-2001: Message edited by: Fairbairn-Sykes Trench Knife ]
 11. nice concrete textures. i actually like the sandbags, regardless of historical accuracy. maybe a narrower firing slit? also, higher grass around the bottom would be nice.
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by CMplayer: That's my way of inducing him to HURRY UP AND SEND THAT SETUP fer Chrissakes.

dear expatriate, expect one 1000pt attack (i'll be the one digging in this time) using Fionn's Recon Rules to appear in your mailbox soon. this is just an aperitif to our forthcoming Aegean Challenge ©...
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by CMplayer: PARTISANS! Dang...okay round the figure up by about 1%.

well, 1% of
quote:
100.000.000.000

is a fairly significant number of men... to say nothing of the assault boats one could buy with this kind of funding.
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by CMplayer: See? I got it all worked out.

i see. what does a crack Matilda and 2 platoons of Long Range Desert Operatives in Chevy Trucks with twin mounted Vickers Ks go for again? A Company of Dutch Commandos? What about all the intangibles surrounding Über Finns? And you did take into account the Spanish "Blue Divisions" on the Eastern Front did you not? And you have no respect for Tito's Boys...
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by CMplayer: ...what size QB would it be? A million, trillion gadzillion points? the whole shebang, around 100,000,000,000 points. This doesn't include aircraft, of course, but does include all the assault boats.

Ladies & Gentlegrogs of the Court, I might overhear the grumblings of "Non Compos Mentis" from amongst the ranks... but before we pronounce sentence on this deranged... err... well-intentioned lunatic, let us ask him some simple questions... In arriving at your figure - did you include the men and vehicles (including assault boats) of all Axis Minor Combatants? Partisans? And what of Italy? Did you arrive at point values for Italian TO&E based on prices of currently available units? Perhaps you'd care to explain experience levels & ammo loadouts for this nearly inconceivable QB? We won't even get into your Red Army figures... Let us not rush to prematurely bandy about such terms as "crackpot"... [Edited so Mr Player knows I still think he's basically a good person] [ 10-10-2001: Message edited by: Fairbairn-Sykes Trench Knife ]
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by Gordon: AFAIK,my low-res Daimler..all...for now.

It needs some saddlebags and a "Black Bull" insignia before i'll feel right about killing Pumas in it...
 17. glad to hear it... thanks. If only there were some jeeps with mounted Vickers MGs in CMBO. maybe the Archer will be given "the treatment" soon?... it's difficult to go into battle with a stock paint job.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by danvnuk: ...something along the lines of the recent British Mods with visual recognition pendants and Unit markings etc...

yeah, that's the stuff. I've got a decent "mickey-mouse" camoed Daimler but it lacks the detailed vehicle insignia & kit of Gordon's recent White Scout Car, UK Halftracks (incredible UK treatment of Magua's benchmark HTs), Firefly, Stuart, Sexton and several other "mickey-moused" British vehicles... But I still use Pawbroon's Humber Car... it has aged gracefully.
 19. Perhaps I've missed it; has this TD been given the hi-res "works" with unit ID markings (11th armoured black bull), saddle bags/ miscellaneous kit & "mickey mouse" camo? Furthermore, what about a "mickey-mouse" camo jeep with said accoutrements?
 20. Top notch Achilles and Wolverine! Can I expect an Archer soon? Just tryin' to slay Huns in style... I'm diggin' the new CMs layout too, Manx!
 21. Well, with 19th-20th century painters i prefer Moritz Oppenheim & Ernst Fries. As far as sculptors in the same time period, I'd have to say Georg Kolbe & Wilhelm Lehmbuck... Oh yeah, German arty... 120mm mortars (i'm a confessed mortar junkie) are relatively cheap & quite effective and the 170mm & 210mm shells ain't no joke 'neither... plus, you can take cover in the craters. yeah, it was lame - but i couldn't stop myself...
 22.
quote:
Originally posted by ElGuapo: Yah, the lit-tal bas-taard. Ve vill get him later tonight.

Roight then, Fritz! You'll have to pardon the plethora of smoldering Pumas - all that smoke must make it hard to see... i guess that Sd Kfz 7/2 must be getting rawther lonely, old boy...
 23. hmmmmm, that California thing went over quite peacefully... i was certain mom would be called in for this one...
