  1. Using the keyboard keys(WASD) for camera movement has never been good in CMSF. Sometimes it's sluggish and other times it's fast or erratic. So therefore I only use it for smaller more fine camera movement and leave the big camera moving to mousing over to the sides of the screen. I also use the ctrl+left click to quickly jump to a spot.
  2. Ok great, thank you, that was exactly the readme I was looking for. IIRC this is a first for the save game compatibility working with the previous update.
  3. Well surprisingly the 1.30 stand alone patch is still not out yet. But I'd be willing to bet the save game compatibility will be similar if not identical with the previous patch notes. But yes there are occasions that it does work, but not all the time and weird things can happen. So the official word from the readme is what follows:
  4. You can continue campaigns when the save game is in between battles. But PBEMs that aren't campaigns are mid-game and cannot be continued.
  5. Gotta go with the Marines for your first campaign playthrough too. It's the easiest one since the Marines are walking nightmares for the Syrians. Then upping the level of difficulty is the British campaign. Then after that the most difficult ones of all is NATO. Good luck and good hunting!

  7. Yeah that is very very good. Although I've seen that trick before, not sure how long ago or who did it. There was different wording with the names, address, etc. but was essentially the same trick. Them magicians get tons of trim. :cool:
  8. It's multiple CPUs, either dual(two) or quad(four) core. Yes I'm definitely for multi-core support since I gotta Q9550(four) 2.83GHz CPUs and only one is used. Understandable for CMSF not supporting it since it was released in 07. But I'd bet most of their customers now have at least duo core. So would love to see duo core support for CMN but with the QB update, not gonna happen. That leaves hopefully multi-core support with the East Front game. (fingers crossed) Also, as for showing more details for loadouts, I think they should bring back the info box(already been requested plenty). But they could add loadout details along with kill info into it.
  9. Would be great if they gave us weapon selection for units and AFVs. Especially with modern AFVs having multiple weapon systems. So sick of seeing AFVs firing their AT rockets at infantry in open ground. Also we got the Mr. Trigger Happy spotter in a sniper team who's apparent job is to fire as much as possible to help give their position away. One more time: WEAPON SELECTION
  10. No I certainly would not play in Iron mode for learning purposes. Start off in Basic training mode so you can actually see what it takes to suppress the enemy. Then work your way up. Heck I never play in Iron mode anyway, you can't see your other units sometimes due to no LOS or C2. So I consider it more of a user interface hassle. Elite is my preferred mode since it is just as realistic as Iron mode minus the players visibility of their own units. Just keep in mind what the differences are between the skill modes.   11. Speaking of which, be quick afterwards getting a squad in there. The enemy sometimes, depending on quality and HQ contact, can rally from taking fire pretty quick. The beauty of RT is that you can literally get a squad in there like five seconds after ceasing fire. In turnbased mode this is much harder to to.
  12. Yeah I think the 1080p is a bit overkill. IMO the jump from 720p to 1080p is marginal, but the jump from 480p to 720p is much more noticeable and well worth it. Don't sweat the full HD versions. Great job on the videos!
  13. The spacebar pauses the game in Real Time so you can change or edit your orders at any time. A real life saver. However, in RT, I try not to engage or keep contact with the enemy in no more than two separate areas. So a two pronged attack is manageable, but anything more and you will miss important things somewhere.
  14. Hehe, I always loved those sandbagged borders they had back then. The CMBO demo is a measly 31MBs lol.
  15. Ahh ok, I remember that mod for BF2. The big realism mod for Arma 2 is ACE. I think that PR mod is still WIP.

  17. Or heck simplify it even more with just a casualty button on the UI somewhere. When you take a casualty it blinks or flashes with maybe a radio chatter of "Man down" or something. Click on it and go to that unit. Something like this would greatly help RT players, at least until we get a one minute rolling replay feature. But sadly I'd say the earliest we would see this would be the East Front family games.
  18. I think it's no more than a two or three tile separation needed for sharing. Anything beyond that and there on their own.
  19. If this is the case, then I'm not interested. Simply put, if it takes resources/time away from CMN then no, don't bother. P.S. Although it would be kool so see the original campaign reborn again with an update.

  21. Ok I have this problem only when visiting the BF main menu. For me, it's the logon for the repository/purchase account and not my forum account. But I just have to click "m" and the saved logon info pops up and I just click on it and it auto fills my logon/password. So it literally slows me down to just a single key press and mouse click. But when coming to the forums I'm always logged in. I don't go to the main menu at all. I use a direct link to the forums to skip the main menu: http://www.battlefront.com/community/index.php Then if I ever need to get back to the main menu I just use the link at the bottom of all forum pages.
