Just to clarify, I am not trying to justify mixed units for my use on the Allied side... I am trying to show my friend why it is not generally acceptable...

Hotmail is not such a pain as these chaps have made it out to be, at least if you keep your games small(er) and don't take on too many games. I don't get zipped files to my Hotmail I just save it as a Hotmail attachment to my PBEM folder called the same as the file I received and then open the folder and the .txt file is in there... it can cause you problems sometimes though.

I would like a detailed, non-hostile answer please....

Once when playing a human opponent in Chance Encounter (demo) an enemy Sherman had suffered gun damage from artillery, became immobilized, and was thus abandoned shortly after becoming immobilized... I think the gun damge happened in a previous turn, but seconds after it became immobile, the crew got out... It would be nice to have a command though.

Truthfully, how hard is MODing? I want to know because I want to do a MOD or two, but I am not a graphics guy... I looked a bit at that new site Mods and Modders and it was helpful... I'm just wondering how it all begins and how difficlut it is and is there a lot of pixel by pixel altering and how do apply camo and things...

Well, there are a lot of color schemes for German armor... I was reading a book last night at my friend's and there were quite a few different color schemes and "hasty" camo, done with limited supplies and/or time. One thing I did read about was that it seemed earlier in the war panzer grey was the underlying color but later the underlying color was yellow of some kind... Doubt that helps much..

For meeting engagements the out is simple, I can just rationalize that my troops know they are about to encounter the enemy as they are plugging a hole in the face of an advance and thus have already dismounted from their transports. Voila!

While one large operation certainly does not appeal to me, I would love CM : TWFW (Combat Mission : The Whole ^%&*$ War) which included all major combatants and vehicles from beginning to end...

A) they encountered enemy forces You mean like, say... every battle in CM! As an exclusively Axis player, I am sick of tired of hearing people debate the German Infantry and what is gamey when in the battles I've played not once have I faced Polish, Canadian or French forces! Shaddap already!
